2-1 with a nervy final 5 mins after a contentious disallowed goal from Southampton.

In true Caf style, we will see the emergence of threads containing the following: "Say what you want, but we are going to win the premier league"

In true United style, we fumble in the next game against Everton. Mass hysteria. ...rinse and repeat.

Diallo, Walcott, Romeu, Kyle Walker-Peters, Jannik Vestergaard, Mohammed Salisu, and Nathan Tella all injured and will miss the game,

7 players injured no excuses we have to win.
Then again we've said that before.
Just 2 of that injured list started in the 2-2 draw last season in Old Trafford.

    McCarthy
    Walker-Peters
    Bertrand
    Stephens,
    Bednarek,
    Romeu,
    Ward-Prowse,
    Redmond,
    Armstrong,
    Adams
    Ings

This is a must win a s we should play strongest team, which imo is:
    DDG
    AWB- Lindelof- Maguire-Shaw
    McT- Pogba
    Greenwood- Bruno - Rashford
    Cavani

With a lot of the teams around us dropping points in the last two gameweeks, our blushes have been spared a little and we haven't plummeted down the table as we could have.

No excuses now, we've basically used up the cushion we'd built for ourselves by grinding out results. Have to get a win here.

    AWB
    Bailly
    Maguire
    Shaw

    Fred
    Pogba

    Greenwood
    Bruno
    Rashford

    Cavani

I’ll admit that after the last two results my excitement has been blunted a bit, but even then, even though I said this before the arsenal game, this one really, really is an absolute must win game for us.

Hate playing them these days, they're the aggressive style we don't fare well with. Saying that they've only won 1 in 8 in the league I think (not that form is a big measure these days) and we quite simply have to put the last 2 games behind us with a win.

    De gea

    Wan Bissaka
    Bailly if fit
    Maguire
    Shaw

    Matic
    Pogba
    Fernandes

    Greenwood
    Cavani
    Rashford

This shoehorning of pogba to the left and rashford to the right has to stop.

All going for similar type of line up with rashford to the left and one of mct, Fred, matic partnering pogba.

I seriously have no idea what's going through the players' minds and Ole's. We haven't done well in the past week and Southampton aren't an easy team to score against or defend against. I don't feel confident about our front players anymore. I don't see an attacking pattern and it concerns me a lot over the rest of the season. I don't know how we are going to survive only on individual talents for long. Ole has never actually shown that his team is actually sound in possession. They're often too slow and lose the ball when going forward. We're great in transition but we cannot move the ball quickly otherwise. We find it so difficult to actually play passes in close succession and move into the opponents box. We might get to watch another tedious match where might get ahead purely on a skill of one or two players. We sure defend as a team but we don't press players when we should and leave so much space between our CB and sometimes our full backs just vanish from sight. I don't know how to judge this team now. Anything can happen. I really hope we don't let City get more than a 6 pt lead what with their game in hand and all. Liverpool are closing in again and it is looking tight at the top. We definitely need to show up and play football.

This will be an absolute slog like the Wolves game was but I think we can squeeze out a victory. If we can win our next 2, with City going to Liverpool next Sunday we’ll be back in a very good position.

This has got "hard-fought draw" written all over it.

I reckon we'll go behind twice, but will manage to salvage a point. 2-2.

    Reckon we'll edge this 2-1.

Really hope we get some of key lads back in the goals. Also missing Penalty, hasn't shown up in weeks. POTY in danger.

I'm also expecting a struggle for a draw after conceding a stupid goal but I'm going for 1-1.

I agree about that but in order to give ourselves a better chance of doing this Ole needs to go outside of his plan and put Amad on the bench instead. He clearly has lost faith in Mata/James so what's the harm in trying something fresh.

Yes I know there will be people who say you shouldn't just throw him into the team and totally agree with that, it's more about just keeping players in the squad on their toes a bit more that's all I'm saying.

At some point I hope the media will speculate the living dog piss out of sacking Ole, because it's exactly then, when players are starting to fight on the pitch for their lives and going on another run.

    I'd go

    De Gea
    AWB Bailly Maguire Shaw
    Pogba Fred
    Greenwood Bruno Rashford
    Cavani

The goals have dried up for them since their good start to the season. Now watch them rediscover their goalscoring boots against us.

Yes similar guesses. I picked McT instead of Fred and Lindelof instead of Bailly. They are relatively strong at setpieces and Lindelof is better than Bailly in the box, and better in the air. I think Fred has been wasting quite a lot of passes lately and that’s not what we need in this match. So I prefer McT who has played well imo. However this is what I want to see. I think Ole will start Bailly, because Lindelof hasn’t played two matches in a row for some weeks now, and Feed/McT, it’s a lottery. Doubt he will play both, though, not now when Pogba plays so well.

I'm guessing Minamino won't be available for selection for Southampton until after this game?

    No idea who'll start.

James , Mata and VDB to get minutes or will they get them in the cup against West Ham?

James amd VDB are not saviors but the entire team seems tired.

2 games vs liverpool and Arsenal all in 3 weeks is crazy. Something has to give with Ole's favorites but maybe he waits for West Ham.

A shakeup is required here as Southampton will press like lunatics.

Ole needs to stop fecking around and playing Rashford out of position. Rashford and Shaw can be devastating on the left for us, and have established a great chemistry
Shaw’s best games at LB has been when Rashford did not play on the left. Rashford does not create the space for Shaw to get wide and most of the time you find Shaw drifting to the middle when Rashford’s on the left

We came to the point of needing change just for the sake of change.

I want to see VDB in the lineup.
I want Mason to get 90 minutes.
Hell, i even want to see Daniel James running down the flank.

Agreed. There is no need to always partner Fred with McTominay, give VdB a go in there. There's enough industry, energy and bustle in there to keep us competitive against a hard-working Saints team.

I imagine they'll press us high. So we need press resistance in midfield and speed up top. Beat the press, get at the back 4 in space. Come on United.

No it doesn’t he’s making 4/5 changes every game and it’s breaking rhythm
Pretty much every team in the league is changing 4/5 players per game this season, its normal when playing every 2-4 days and you’re isolating just Ole doing it and passing blame

I see you guys all post Maguire on the Starting XI, I thought he got a yellow card in the last game and that was making it 5? Or it's just me and I am mistaken?

Hope we get the win tonight, although it will be a tough one..
