Stoke City Football Club nicknamed The Potters are a professional football club based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Stoke City founded was Stoke Ramblers in 1863 when pupils of Charterhouse School formed a football club while apprentices at the North Staffordshire Railway Works works in Stoke-on-Trent; and the club changed its name to Stoke City in 1925 after Stoke-on-Trent was granted city status. They are the second oldest professional football club in the world, after Notts County, and are one of the 12 founding members of the Football League which was founded in 1888. Although Stoke haven't enjoyed a lot of title-winning success in their 150 year old existence, they have fielded the likes of Stanley Matthews, Gordon Banks, Alan Hudson and Dennis Violett through the years. Stoke's most prominent rivalries include Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Bromwich Albion, and local club Port Vale. Stoke play their home games at the Britannia Stadium.

Fellaini will inevitably play because Stoke are a big team and it'll be a mistake as it always is. Not sure what to expect from the game. We might grind out a win.
What I'm hoping to see but we have no chance of seeing:

    De Gea
    Varela Smalling Blind CBJ
    Carrick
    Herrera/Schneiderlin Mata
    Memphis Rooney Martial

    Mata Fellaini Herrera Martial
    Rooney

Carrick won't start imo. That'll end with him hobbling off before half time. I'd give him a few more sub appearances before risking starting him.

I think we stand a chance:

Is it on a cold, Wednesday night? No.
Is it at the Brittania? No

We should seek revenge after they schooled us on Boxing day.

    DDG

    Varela, Smalling, Blind, BoJack

    Carrick, Fellaini, Herrera

    Adnan, Rooney, Martial.

I'd like to see Herrera and Carrick start in the double pivot but I imagine we'll be getting Fellaini in there with him, it will be interesting to see if he plays Mata as a #10 again or if he moves him back to the RW/bench and plays Ander in that role.

This will be a touch game, Stoke are a good team with a goal threat, I also think our players are struggling to deal with the current atmosphere at Old Trafford, if we start slowly and it's 0-0 at half time I can see a Stoke win.

    Prediction 1-1.

This is my default scoreline I predict for most games. Today 3-1 win changes nothing.
Stoke will get men behind the ball (something which Derby did not do) and will hit us on the counter, leaving us vulnerable.

    I'd love to see that.

    De Gea
    Varela--Smalling--Blind--CBJ
    Schneiderlin--Carrick
    Memphis/Januzaj--Mata--Martial
    Rooney
    ---
Subs: Romero, McNair, Fellaini, Lingard, Herrera, Pereira, Januzaj

Lingard will start again though I know it. But I want Januzaj or Memphis starting on the right wing instead.

It will be a really tough game for our fullbacks with Shaqiri on CBJ's side and Arnaoutovic(sp?) on Varela's side.

Jones, Rojo, Schweinsteiger...are these guys dead, or what?
    Jones is Jones
Rojo feked his shoulder or something
Schweini feked his knee I think from a couple of games back when he tried to smash the ball away but his leg just went up a bit awkwardly.

Rojo injured his shoulder last season didn't he? Must be an aggravation of that

I'll be optimistic and will look forward to this match if we line up like this, if not then I won't bother.

Hoping that Januzaj or Andreas play, but I doubt it. Vangle obviously sees something in Lingard that the football doesn't. Herrera may replace Mata after his naff performance and if Carrick is on the upkeep with his match rhythm he'll start, probably over Schneiderlin.

I am adamant that if Schneiderlin has a better partner next to him who he doesn't have to cover for constantly, he will shine. I just hope that LVG doesn't play Fellaini.

Stoke have had a bit of a blip recently, but this is exactly the type of game they'll raise their performance for.

I think we'll struggle to dominate proceedings but could win this by a goal if we catch them on an off day. I always worry for some of our players at home. Some of them crumble under the expectancy, which has resulted in so many 0-0 first half displays. I wouldn't be surprised to see Carrick start and for Darmian to return.

    Martial Rooney Lingard

    Fellaini Schneiderlin Herrera

    CBJ Blind Smalling Varela

I'd be shocked if we come out of it with a win. A draw will surprise me (unless it's 0-0).

LvG was right about lowering our expectations. I don't even expect us to beat these at home anymore.
