6 pointer because we are 100% dropping 3 more points at Liverpool. This season has been really shite. Let’s be honest. The players don’t have the fight or chemistry and the team hasn’t improved in work rate or leadership at all. Bar a few reminders that Ronaldo was once a superstar we’d be currently be back in the EL (trying to win it to get CL) and playing for 4th. A disaster with the additions we’ve made. Anyway I reckon Spurs will score. 1-1 or 2-2

Usually you might say the last game would rally the players but i don't think they've got that fight in them.

Anyone here genuinely think we'd sneak a top 4 place? I think the players have given up. This game might as well be irrelevant.

Fantastic that we’re playing evening kickoff, means the weekend won’t be ruined until 7:15pm.

I have pretty much lost all hope for this year, but if we don’t win this then our season is well and truly over (no, we’re not winning the CL).

Must win. Got a feeling we'll match them, formation wise...

    De Gea

    Lindelof Varane Maguire

    Dalot Pogba Fred Telles

    Bruno Sancho

    Dalot Bailly Varane Telles

    Fred Pogba
    Bruno
    Sancho Ronaldo

I’d go with a 4-4-2 diamond with Bruno tucked in behind Sancho, who would ideally play in a free role behind Ronaldo. Should also flood the midfield to actually get some control. There should be serious repercussions for the players who had shockers last week too, so I’d remove AWB, Lindelof, Maguire and McTominay. Elanga getting dropped isn’t a punishment, he’s still a young lad learning the game. Bailly would be a good choice to stem Spurs on the counter imo.

    United 2-2 Spurs.

Since i'm in the U.S. it's just early enough to not ruin my breakfast, but ruin the rest of my weekend. :)

This might make a good thread: How much of your weekend will be ruined by the next United game.

I'd like to see a front three of Sancho, Cavani and Elanga. Save Ronaldo for Atletico, that's only game he cares anyways. Though it's unlikely to see Cavani start after not playing for who knows how long.

Only for 4 pages so far on this game  no one cares and it's understandable after last few results.

We absolutely have to win, it's just crucial so I think somehow we will get this game over the line.
We might play shite, and I don't care too much after our recent games honestly, just the 3 points and stop the rot.

We just can't lose this, so we won't.

For a long while Utd were odds on favourites for top 4

We're going to get turned over here. 3-1 Spurs. We'll play our usual high line and they will pick us apart with the space behind Maguire, which is their absolute strength.
Kane to basically post up on Maguire and turn him inside out.
I don’t think our players don’t care, as many have said, I think they just can’t do what is being asked, and that depresses them. They pressed like maniacs against City, City absorbed it, waited until we were gassed (25 minutes) then ran circles around us. They know they should be able to run for 90, but they can’t. They are comfortable sitting and counter attacking, and RR won’t let them.

Quite possibly the most important game of the season. Anything but a win here and we are out of the Champions League next season. Unacceptable, embarrassing and an absolute disgrace. I will really let loose on the players then if they bottle it against Tottenham at home. Probably get banned.

Speaking of bottling, it's Spurs. I wouldn't be surprised if they make us look like Prime Real Madrid. But as I said before, this will be a tough fight, but I think we win.

By this point I’m at the point where we may as well throw a few of the peripheral players in to see if they can create a spark out of nothing. It’s clear and obvious the current crop have gone. Or throw all the names in the air and see which 11 fall down!

    Ridiculous state of affairs…..

I've obviously not seen anything in the last few games that suggests we're going to win tonight.

But then again, Spurs are literally up and down lately... and they won their last game, so who knows!

Seen elsewhere it's Covid. We'll see what happens. Henderson arguably lost his place back to De Gea due to Covid at the start of the season, maybe now he does really well and gets it back. Not confident about any game currently, lets hope the bad Spurs turn up but they are game raisers so...

I am interested, why do you accuse the players of bottling it? They just aren’t very good, why does everyone have such high expectations of our players. Where do you expect us to be? Ronaldo is 37 and completely finished at this level yet he is leading our attack.

The board writ off the season when they allowed Ole to continue after we lost 5-0 to Liverpool. I can imagine the players are all very demoralised and angry just like us that the club gave up on the season. We didn’t even make any signing to push for top 4 in January.

The board have bottled it not the players, they are doing their best but just aren’t good enough.

Watched a lot of Spurs recently. Every team that has allowed them space in behind has been severely punished. Son's runs and Kane's through balls have been deadly.

If we try to keep a high line today it will be embarrassing.

Try to copy their 532 is the best solution to close the space for Kane and Son and not be too exposed at the back.

Game against Madrid is on Tuesday, but the situation is too difficult in PL to rest some players, so play the best team possible. (also knowing we have no game next weekend and there is the international break)

I am not worried about this game tbh, more worried about seeing Conte jumping and screaming down the line. Hate his behavior.

Bially over maguire and elanga or sancho over rashford. Unless those three i mentioned are injured

I really really want us to drop Maguire going forward. I actually think it would improve morale.
