It's a bit of the same old same old and loads of things are going wrong, but weirdly enough I'm kind of enjoying this match.

Maybe it's because I got laid last night, have a couple of days off, weather's finally allowing me to watch the game outside for the first time this year and someone's cooking proper meal for me and it will be done exactly at half time.

Regardless of how unimpressive we've been, we didn't get a very obvious penalty and Lukaku should've done better with that one chance too and there's no way we're losing this match.

So flat and slow, especially that last 10 minutes of the half.

I’d take Mata off for Lingard and maybe even Herrera for Rashford, something different needs to happen.

Pogba frustrates me - he plays football like it's a training session. It seems more important to him to show off his skills than to play effective football. Which is understandable when you are 19 - but not at 25.

The only natural wide players in that side are two ex wingers playing full back and Sanchez. I could see the logic of 433 if one of Rashford or Martial were on one of the flanks.
Sanchez at least should be able to hold a bit of width. In fairness there have been a couple of occasions where a player was in space on the flank, and Pogba in particular has ignored him

Get Matic off the pitch, hasn't been good enough for a while. Get Lingard on the pitch, we need to up the tempo. Also Mata slows it down too much

Why are we playing Mata and Sanchez together. Both getting in each other’s way, especially with Pogba playing up there too. Playing into their hands. Bizarre team selection.

Get Martial and Rashford on. I’ve no doubt we will improve second half regardless.

Can't remember the last time I was as thoroughly bored watching a match.

Mata / Herrera need to come off at half time.
Both were dreadful to be fair. Matic wasn't a great deal better.

Pogba at least tried a few things.

Massive improvement required for the second half.

Herrera's one of the few who have been decent this half tbf. Agree don't need the 3 mids here but I'd probably sooner take Matic off here
But Herrera is there to free up Pogba to go forward so for me he is an important part in our teams ability to be attacking. If we take him off and revert back to 4231 then that to me would be a defensive move.

Standard Mourinho can't coach a good attack from the start of games. Need Martial or Rashford (or both) on here. Take off mata and Matic/Herrera with Martial left and rashford right.

Mourinho's preparing for next season where 433 will be our primary formation it seems.
Hopefully we have decided on how he wants us to play and are sticking with it, let the players get used to it.
It’s not a case of whether it’s needs, it’s a case of it being our best formation. It allows Pogba more freedom and loosens the restraints on our wide men a little.
As I said 4-3-3 not needed for a game like this, absolutely no need for Matic, Pogba and Herrera all to be occupying the same area of the pitch especially when you play a CB like Lindelof

Get Matic off and put Martial on at HT

Getting really tired of these feckless first half perfomrances. Shades of van Gaal.

I can only see two of the three coming on - probably Lingard, Rashford and McTominay.
Can’t see the point of McTominay in a game like this, personally. Taking three players off is a bit of the knee jerk reaction obviously but we’ve got to change things drastically.

This MUFC side struggles to execute fast counter attacks.
Jose loves counter attacks, so this will definitely frustrate him.
Then he needs to stop playing attackers with no pace

Mata and Sanchez are so narrow it is rediculous and when we do turn over the ball we have zero width to open up space for a runner through the middle. Need rashford on ASAP

Poor movement. The team is conserving energy for Bournemouth away and Spurs. 3 games in 6 days, the last game is now the most important game of the season.

I'd try Martial this half for Herrera.

Switch mata central and put Sanchez right, Martial out left.

I know it wouldnt happen but would be nice to see.

Need to be a lot more direct second half. Everything slows down around the edge of their box. We almost never use the full backs for width. So often Young especially has overlapped and been ignored.

Everyone needs to move the ball quicker and indulge less. We seem determined to score from the 1-2 drills we do pre match.

I don't buy it.... He was offered a contract but he rejected it so why should he be played if he is not to show any loyalty towards us? He is a good player no doubt but many would think he was the second coming from what is spouted on here.
Works both ways. He didn't play a single minute in the two games before he rejected the contract so why should he 'offer loyalty' by tying himself down to a contract when he's not being played?

No width, no players intelligent enough to peel wide and offer overlaps. Valencia in particular has been utter garbage. He lacks any sort of courage to beat his man and can be defended with ease every time 1-on-1 by showing him inside. An utterly cowardly performance.

Exhibit A for why we require new wide players desperately.
