I hate timings of kick off this season. Every single bloody game feels like it starts at 1am, even weekend ones.

Can't see that at all. Mejbri won't even make the bench and with this being our likely best route to a trophy we aren't going to throw a complete young team out there.
The back 4 and midfield make sense imo, I mean this is why we bought Telles and Shaw is arguably our most important player right now, we need to rest him where we can, and with Pogba out McFred will need to play every PL game so we have to rest them in games like this. I realize Diallo and Hannibal won't start, instead we'll run Rashford and Bruno into the ground.

Are playing Nuneaton? We'd get battered with that squad.
It's the only CB pairing we have, Telles is experienced enough for this otherwise why even buy him? Matic and Van de Beek are going to need to play as Pogba is out and we can't play McFred in every game, like I said above I'm sure tge 2 young players wont start though.

As if you've responded by talking about the defence

I was referring to the front 4 with James - who let's face it, is James - and two completely unproven players and an out of form Martial up top.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see either Mejbri or Diallo start but preferably with better players around them to keep the pressure off.

Though I accept it's more your dream lineup :)

    Team should be...

    ---------------Henderson---------------
    AWB---Lindelof---Maguire---Telles
    ----------Fred------------Matic----------
    James---------VDB---------Rashford
    ------------------Martial------------------

Subs: De Gea, Tuanzebe, Williams, McTominay, Mata, Fernandes, Greenwood, Cavani, Amad

Not particularly loving the look of that and with Bailly and Pogba's injuries our options are starting to look limited but tried to give some players a rest

    Henderson
    AWB Axel Maguire Telles
    Fred Matic
    Diallo VDB Rashford
    Martial

Hopefully couple up after 60/65 to rest Rashford for a bit.

Can't get myself to care about the FA cup this season... Not yet anyway. Lost a lot of meaning in the last years

Oh crap, this is a home game.
I think we'll lose this one.

We don't have many possibilities to change, but need to rotate a bit. Be careful a this in form West Ham team.

Why would we rest players for this?

Title has been gone for weeks IMO. We aren't finishing 5th or worse. We shouldn't take the Europa League too seriously unless we get knocked out of the FA Cup.

This is our best chance at a trophy and changing our mentality into winners. It has to be close to full strength.

I'll be amazed if we see some of the line-ups posted in this thread. Henderson for Dave? Sure. Beek for Pogba? (More likely Fred/Matic) Maybe.. Martial could start for sure, but otherwise I think it's going to be very similar to what we saw the last couple of games.

Because of burnout and players need to play what’s the point having a squad if you’re not going to use it.

Don't really see many who are noticeably suffering or in average form bar Rashford to be honest. Henderson for de Gea I agree with as he needs more experience.

We have Europa League soon though, just rotate the first team in that. People are going over the top, we have rotated quite well this season.

We don't play again until next Sunday. FA cup is important this year and West Ham and a good side. Near full strength for this. Full team for West Brom. rest a couple against Real.

    ------------------------------Henderson-------------------------------
    AWB--------------Bailly------------Maguire------------Telles
    ------------------------Fred-------------DVB------------------------
    --------------------------------Fernandes-------------------------
    Greenwood---------------Martial------------------------Rashford

Massive opportunity for Henderson. He will 100% have some action in this game. if he impresses then he could easily start some more games.

I'd love to play Cavani but he can't play every game and needs to be managed carefully. He should play against West Brom and Newcastle IMO.

Yes, no surprise at all, but a huge embarrassment for Lee Mason and Mike Dean that they contrived to make such an appalling decision after watching the incident multiple times.

Should be winning this without too much of a struggle - but the way things are going we'll probably need three goals for me to feel safe! One things is for sure: it's the FA Cup and therefore Henderson should play - and unless he does something horrendous should then be given a run in the team. Would be great to see Diallo at some stage of the game

The more I think about it, the more I think the problem is watching it in slow motion. The idea of slowmo is to make it easier for the viewer to comprehend what’s happening, as the game is very fast. But you end up taking a stance that the players’ are making decisions at that slower speed. If you watch the Soucek elbow in normal speed it’s very clear how such an accident can happen, but when you slow it down so much, it looks far more like he’s deliberately throwing that elbow to hurt the guy. I honestly think that if Mike Dean could only review this in normal speed he would never have sent him off.

Hopefully a proper strong team, seeing as we get our longest rest between games this season before next game on Sunday. I see Soucek is available, and Mike Dean is still taking charge of an FA Cup game (but no league game at the weekend). Smacks of lack of accountability for being woeful at his job.

Mata for some reason is seemingly frozen out of the first team. Surely he’s useful in these kind of games? He’s a capable number 10 stand in for Bruno

    Martial

    James Mata Greenwood

    Should be our front four

There's very few games we can actually play some of our youngsters so as always in these fixtures i hope we give a few lads game time. We won't though, we'll go strong and then moan about tiredness and not having options.

Who cares, people were fine with losing vs City in semi final, "we have bigger fish to fry" they said  , how that go but at least it was nice attempt to downplay it, all in the name of deflection. So lets not bother with FA cup either, we might lose in semi final anyway.

I wonder what percentage of team selections will go with DDG! But if Henderson is now the first choice, and supposedly we ought to be rotating, then shouldn't DDG be in for the FA cup game?

Maybe it’s just me but I’m excited to watch this. It’s nice to get away from the pressure of the league where every lost point is massively demoralising. Hopefully we play well and win this one.

I hope Diallo plays some minutes, but of course I expect James/Mata/Martial get some ahead of him. Pogba is injured, I wonder if Ole will risk VDB in an 8, or if he'll go for Matic with Mct/Fred as the 8.

I was against focussing too much on the cup last round, but with the league title gone and top 4 very much in our control, a cup run would be a nice distraction. This team desperately needs to get into the habit of winning stuff now. Proper mental block.

Just a guess... This became more important, though, after the points dropped over the weekend.

I imagine the ones who will definitely play will be: Henderson, Maguire, Fred, Donny and Martial.

Not a clue about the rest. I'd put out:

    Henderson

    AWB
    Bailly
    Maguire
    Telles

    Fred
    Matic
    VDB

    Greenwood
    Bruno
    Martial

Amad, Rashford and McTominay off the bench.

This should be a big audition for Henderson given what De Gea did tonight.

If he comes through it comfortably give him the starting spot.
Henderson will easily start 3 of the 5 next matches as we have West Ham in the cup then the 2x Europa League matches. If he does well while Dave looks nearvy in the league, we'll continue with Henderson.

If Henderson is as dodgy as he's been when he's played earlier this season, then there's no reason to swap
