Same team against Leicester but swap Rojo with Borthwick-Jackson, Rojo was probably the most irritating player on the pitch since Cleverly during the Moyes era. Guys passing was over the place, Mahrez had him in his pocket and was VERY lucky that the ref was so blind sited to not give that blatant penalty when he obstructed Mahrez. So such a liability, So give the youngster a run out. Also rest carrick and replace with Schneiderlin, and Felliani is banned so Herrera in. Rest picks for itself, i would like to see Memphis start but i just dont see LVG dropping Martial.

Lingard was one of our best players last game before he came off after an hour having run himself into the ground
He was pretty anonymous going forward. Running himself into the ground is nice but its not really sufficient to have good performance when you're playing in a front 3.

Yeah, I think it was a very huff and puff with no end product performance, to be honest.

Would only change the centre of our midfield to Schneiderlin and Herrera for this. Otherwise unchanged.

I really want Schneiderlin and Herrera to pair up in midfield, with unfortunately Rooney in front of them. We need more mobility to match the speed and attacking threat of Martial and Lingard on the wings.

Fosu - Mensah? Get a grip mate, all the grown-ups are fit to play.
I know, but neither Darmian or Rojo have impressed lately have they? Fosu-Mensah on the other has done well and deserves the chance when the others have been underperforming a bit. Still doubt that he'll start though.

If we lose and City win, then we officially cannot get 4th.

    That said, we'll win 1-0
Yea we got to make sure we our job first anyway, and hopefully Citys bad form will continue into the remaining matches while we win ours.

What attacking threat from Lingard? Are we watching the same player? No goals and no assists in at least his last 12 games... it's a borderline crime that he's getting this much playing time with so little to show for it.

Is Mata/Memphis any better option though? Mata slows down our game just too much imo. He might have more assists and goals than Lingard, but Lingard has a better workrate and doesn't get as invisible as Mata often tend to do. When that's said, Lingard really needs to start scoring more goals and provide more assists aswell.

Lingard is the only player we have in that position who actually runs and attacks with the ball. He runs more than any other player we have in our front 6.

    OPTIONS FOR THE BOSS
Van Gaal spoke exclusively to MUTV before the press conference and revealed that he may rotate the team in order to deal with squad tiredness and Fellaini's suspension. He said: "We have to oversee also the tiredness of the players because there’s an overload of matches, so maybe I have to rotate also, but now Fellaini is suspended so I have to change my line-up. Every week you have something that you don’t like, but I think we can manage."

    REDS MUST KEEP FIGHTING
In his press conference, the manager was asked whether City's defeat to Real Madrid last night will have any effect on the fight for a top four place. He said: "The situation has not changed because of them going out last night. It is the same I think."

    REACTION TO FELLAINI BAN
The manager also gave his reaction to Fellaini's three-game ban which starts on Saturday. "We haven't appealed because the reaction of Fellaini is like a human being. When the FA gives [Robert] Huth a suspension of three matches then they admit that it was a penalty and I have said this after the match. I still believe that Fellaini acted in the way of a human being, but he has to control himself better, that is true."

    TOUGH TEST AT NORWICH
Asked whether the Canaries will provide a tough test for United, van Gaal said: "It is always difficult to fight against a team who fights to maintain they're place in the Premier League - that is always very difficult. That is no excuse, we have to cope with that. They won at home, in Old Trafford, so we have to take revenge. It shall be a very tough game, but inspite of that we have to win."

He has a strong point there, what fellaini did was a red card but pulling his hair should be a penalty.

I'm confused as to why people are saying they aren't bothered earlier in the thread? This is our biggest game of the season.
Because they've gotten themselves into a spiral of loathing.

He reacted as a fecking animal, as usual. He's a serial offender, like Suárez.

For a second I had forgotten that happened. What an absolute mess this season has been. Losing at home to fecking Norwich

Tbf if we can't win this game, this lot don't deserve European football anyway. All season they've spoken about improving for themselves and the fans, these last few games, regardless of City's results should be an indicator for that. They need to dig deep and show heart and desire because Norwich won't roll over, they're playing to stay up.

United are not going to walk this as some people may think. I think it will be a tight game and Norwich will put in the perfomance of their lives as they really need to go for broke now and they will not be afraid of shitty United.

    I'm going for a 1-0 to Norwich or a 1-1 draw.

Literally nobody thinks that. I think we will either win big or lose badly.

Walk it? Away from home? No chance... we've only won one game by more then a goal away from home this season in the League (against Everton).

    We'll probably draw.

EDIT - We've only won 6 games away mind you, so 5 of them have been by a single goal. In all competitions we've only managed to win by more then 1 goal away from home against Shrewsbury and Derby.

Utd walk an away game? We'd struggle away to fecking Northwich as we are at the moment.

Seems like LvG is going to rotate here, but it's hard to see who he'll leave out. Fellaini is obviously suspended, which should just be a straight swap to put Herrera in. I also think we'll see Schneiderlin come in over Carrick. Rooney will still play, while I can see Memphis starting over one of Rashford or Martial, and Mata over Lingard. Full backs may also see a switch, but I'd start Valencia and put Borthwick-Jackson or Fosu-Mensah at left back over Rojo.

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Blind Borthwick-Jackson
    Schneiderlin
    Herrera Rooney
    Mata Martial Memphis
    ---
Romero; Darmian, Fosu-Mensah, Rojo; Carrick, Lingard; Rashford

Confident we'll win if we keep some pace in the team. The West Ham game will be the tough one, and I think we might draw that even if City drop points to Arsenal unfortunately.

Norwich and West Ham are the kind of games we've consistently struggled in under van Gaal, so I'm fully expecting more of the same. The frustrating thing is City will probably drop points but we'll be so timid that we won't be capable of capitalising. Fecking van Gaal.
