I’ve seen us end too many games on the back foot / trying to play down the clock this season

Poor performance and performances all round. Good result though.

As I said in the matchday thread, it's a victory, but it doesn't feel like one. I will never forgive Van Gaal for sucking the joy out of this club; no United win should leave me feeling like this.

Was the sort of game you would expect from two teams with nothing to play for...

Shite game. Thankfully got the win, not too hopeful of Arsenal doing us any favours tomorrow but we've done our part today, barely.

It's a result that puts a lot of pressure on City, tempered by the absolute dross we had to go through once again to get it.

I really don't want us to get top 4 but then I think of Man City in the CL again and I think .. feck it, they're even worse. Honestly the only english team which would actually be refreshing to watch in the CL next year would be Liverpool.

Goes without saying if we want top 4 we need to improve about 100 times over on Tuesday, think Martial potentially being out makes the game so much harder especially with how terrible Memphis was again.

Far from a vintage performance but the win and the 3 points were the most important thing today. Now to hope Arsenal do us a favour!

Hoping Martial not playing was just a precaution and he's available Tuesday.

Didn't think we'd score so pleasantly surprised in that aspect. Dire performance in general though.

I'll take it for now, anything to get us over the line. I've long since given up on expecting us play entertaining, competent football. Sad to say it, but that's the state of play whilst Louis 'it's a process' van Gaal is in control.

Let's just hope Arsenal can help us out tomorrow and we somehow pull a win out of the bag at Upton Park.

I am long past caring about performances. Just get me top 4 and the cup and bin this season.
