He's put in some nice crosses, Ronaldo's goal last week for instance.

He can still offer quality from that side, but would need Dalot to overlap a bit more.

I guess the question is, do we play Rashford or Elanga there otherwise? for me i'd rather play Fernandes and let him roam and push Eriksen higher.
Bruno doesn't offer an outlet on that side. Sure he can put in a decent contribution here and there but ultimately it's not enough. He's less effective on the wing which in turns humper us 2fold because Bruno's game isn't as effective as it would when he plays centrally and we also lose an outlet from that flank.

Luckily, our manager probably does. We add an extra two matches to our schedule if we come second, and probably ones against someone like Barcelona/Juventus/Atletico/Sevilla/Ajax at that.
How does it work? Second has to play the losers out of CL when first doesn’t?

I prefer garnacho than Ronaldo for this game. Bring Ronaldo in at the end

100% Bruno starts with him being unavailable for villa. A few people leaving him out there teams. We need goals this game.

Sure, but yet again - who else do we put there? I don't see Rashford or Elanga being any better personally. It's not like we have ample right wing options without Sancho and Antony.

For me i'd rather get control of midfield and hope Fernandes can work some magic. It's not like he has to stay on the flank out wide.

Yup first place essentially gets a bye into the round of 16.

second place goes into the round before where they play the third place cl teams

Ronaldo at the end makes no sense to me, as he's slow af and has no advantage against tired legs. If Ronaldo's going to play then I'd rather start with him and then bring Garnacho and Martial on at the end to inject pace.

And yeah, Bruno will start because he's not playing at the weekend.

Just don't start with Elanga and we'll just scrape through.

I still have these images of Ronaldo struggling to score against Sheriff and Omonoia which will makes for a haunting experience tomorrow.

I can already see him struggling to get shots off let alone even score.

Going to be a tough team to break down, they have conceded 2 goals in the last 5 league games. They will be tough to score against, they have had low scoring affairs this season. Will have to earn our goals rather than wait for the luck of being given chances by their self made errors.

We need lots of energy and quick passing to beat these feckers but I'm confident that with recent growth in our team play that we can beat them by the needed 2 goals to go through as group winners. However, I'm not worried about any
.CL drop out team either, we can still smash them.

He has some pace and also his movement in the box and jumping can be hard for tired legs to combat.

Just play 4-3-3 with Rashford on the left, Garnacho on the right, and VdB or Bruno as a False 9. I can't bear another Elanga - Ronaldo - Bruno trifecta masterclass.

Antony, AM9, and Sancho all out.

I'd love to see that too giving the minutes to our youngsters instead of the twat. But imo this is not the right game for that. Will be a very tough game they'd surely want the first place even more than us and a draw would be enough for them. Would be too much too soon to demand Garnacho to perform and contribute in this kind of match and pressure imo.

So hell yeah the twat and Elanga will start. A very tough watch and a boring draw is my bet. We have basically no quality up front and they won't bother to attack much I think.

I'd go with Garnacho and Sancho as the wingers with Rashford upfront, use pace in behind.
Sociedad will surely play a deep line though and be defensive, knowing that we have to win by 2 goals to take top spot.

Rashford cannot play with his back to goal.

As long as his movement is as good for the header vs West Ham we'll be fine.
    Sancho hasn't travelled
Yikes, was there an excuse given? He's been dropped for the past few games too and rightfully so.

One of the days I wish Pellistri was bled into the squad to the first team as a natural line hugging RW player..

And if we focus on imposing our best game on them, then we will get the 2 goals we so badly desire.

Yeah, I think Bruno RW is actually both likely what ETH will do, and the best option. We haven't seen ETH do it from the start yet but we've seen it as a substitute numerous times. I suspect if ETH does do that though he'd probably opt for Ronaldo upfront and Rashford from the left, which would be understandable, but I'd sure like to Garnacho instead.

I can't see us winning, never mind by 2 goals. Said at the time the result at home was a disaster.

Quite disappointing to be missing 4-5 players who'd have a shout of starting for sure. Looks like Real are missing a few themselves though. I think we might play 442:

    de Gea
    Dalot Maguire Martinez Shaw
    Casemiro
    Eriksen Fred
    Bruno
    Ronaldo Rashford

We’ll be lucky not to lose this given the injuries. Our lack of squad depth will show.

Anthony does provide us with some much needed flair. Martial is our only natural striker and he too is out. Without Varane we’re more fragile at the back. Hope Dalot plays at the very least.

United to play one of these teams in the playoff round if they finish 2nd in the group. Can do without the extra two games but will likely end up playing one of these teams if they are to progress further in this competition.

There’s another side involved in this game with even more relevant injuries and a fraction of our budget.

The biggest game of the season yet imo. How will we act under pressure in an away game versus a Spanish side? History tells us we don't favor Spanish teams. We have a clear incentive beat them by two goals, at the same time the pressure might be undercooked as we are through no matter what.

A half baked performance would be disappointing, are we up for the task? We need a mountain to climb, our resilience and determination will show itself tomorrow.

What’s the deal with Antony? Substituted at the break after his spin move without injury signs and now he is out for 2 games already? And how about Martial? Yes Ronaldo is not at his best anymore but still provides more than Martial if he can only play 15 games per season

Quite happy with the defence, even with Harry in it if needs be. Struggling to see how we get 2 or 3 goals with the injuries up front though.

With both Antony and Sancho unavailable me might play Garnacho and put Rashford up top, Elanga on the right.

With Ajax, Leverkusen, Farcelona, Sporting, Salzburg, Shakhtar, Sevilla and Juve dropping into Europa, it becomes all the more important to get that 2-1 win. Common United!

Needs to be 2-0 I think, as away goals don’t help.
