They are bottom of the league so I imagine the bus will be parked and Ole will play Mata. Fred and Shaw both got knocks so I'd rest them and Bruno needs a rest. I don't like the Matic/Pogba double pivot but in a game like this we can probably get away with it.

No point rotating for this unless needed. Need to get a win, maybe get Bruno, Rashford, and AWB off if we're coasting.

They've got 1 point all season.

If they double their point tally v us at the very least it's utterly embarrassing

I'd love to know why we're being played on Thursday and then Sunday. I know we need to accept Thursday night football, but not in the league FFS

Strange way to support your team
    Strange times, indeed.

I enjoy watching games from other leagues a neutral more than I do United these days. I really don't like Ole the manager. Even his personality grates on me. I never thought I would dislike a United manager's media dealings more than Mourinho's, but here we are. Even Mourinho could read a room at times. The performances are one thing, but it's the whole package I don't like. I loved Ole the player. But that's life. Scholes' punditry isn't the best either. Sometimes it's better for someone to remain a mystery. I would never have seen what Scholes was like as a person until he joined BT. He kept away from the media as a player.

What irritates me is that I know this squad can go on to better things under a better coach, but the club lacks the ambition to be ruthless.

    You're Norwegian, so bless you.

I'm sure I would want a manager form my nation to succeed no matter what as well.
Doesnt matter where Im from. You dont sound like a Man United supporter to me, you basically want us to loose to get rid of the manager. How patethic can you be? Yikes. We're 4(!) points away from the 1st place on the table as of now. Yes it sucked that we didnt go thro in CL, but cmon now dude. And I def agree with @JakeC here, pissing me off with people posting ignorant shit like that.

Need to use the squad here. Leeds on Sunday will be on a whole another level intensity wise. We need to go into the festive period as fresh as possible.

    Deano
    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Telles
    Fred - Pogba
    Mata - Beek - Martial
    Cavani (if unfit, Greenwood)

Rashy, Bruno cameos. Similar to WH but with Fred and a playmaker like Mata which will give us far better midfield control than we had in that game. For me Deano has to start this, would be a massive morale booster for him to play at the stadium where he got his breakthrough. Would also serve as a reminder for DDG that his blunder quota is close to tipping point.

Those wanting 10-11 changes need to get real. Art of rotation doesn't work like that.

See that's more like it. Atleast be entertaining if you're going to be wrong.

At least this should be a pretty straightforward and easy win. They have been garbage this season, and we're kings away from home, well apart from RB match.

    Losing to Comeback Winning!
Surely we shouldn't lose this game. They're the worst team with zero win. Zero!
But then you know.... it's game like this where I expect most of our players and manager to be complacent.

Expecting a game where we delay until at most the 70th minute to start chasing with late subs to try and win the scoreless game. Either that or Sheffield suddenly nick a goal with our defense switching off as usual so we spend the rest of the time breaking park the bus teams, as messy shit they are, attacking space against numbers, all 11 defending is difficult.

We are absolutely turd right now but I feel this is either the best or worst time to face you. We could have a start like we did at Chelsea going off the starts to matches in your recent games. You have lots of quality though to grab a goal from nowhere.

Would be a miracle to not lose this but got to have some glimmer of hope :wenger:

They are on poor form and struggled to even get a point but let’s not underestimating them, most of the game they only lost by 1 goal difference.

Two points was dropped in this fixture last season, the injury time equaliser by Sheffield United probably would be disallowed this season.

Sheffield United have been competitive in all of their home games this season and I expect Thursday to be no different.

Points wise, they’re the worst team in PL history so far. However, these are not a bad team. The amount of chances they create, I do not know how they aren’t in the top half, let alone relegation certainties with a solitary point. It’ll be a harder game than Leeds, who’ve seemingly already started to run out of steam. Still need to rotate though.

    HENDERSON PLEASE
    AWB Tuanzebe Maguire Telles
    Fred VdB
    Greenwood Bruno Rashford
    Martial

    0-2 win.

Rotation would be good, but we still need to field a strong team. We are struggling to beat the big teams now, so we need to be winning these.

Bruno should play, don't buy the tiredness stuff. Not sure I'd trust Tuanzebe, and Lindelof and Maguire should be able to play every game anyway. Really hope Cavani is fit so Rashford could start from the bench.

We should get another right-back or just admit that AWB will have to play every game. Fred should play too if we want to play well.

    I'd go:

    Henderson/Degea

    AWB
    Lindelof
    Maguire
    Telles

    Fred
    Pogba
    VDB
    Fernandes

    Martial
    Cavani

Have Shaw, McTominay and Rashford return against Leeds.

    --------------------------DDG
    Williams--Lindelof--Maguire--Telles
    -------------------Fred-----Matic
    ---------Mason------VdB-----Pogba
    ------------------------Martial

I would rest AWB, Rashford and Bruno for this one. They have played too much.

We absolutely have the beat Sheff U and Leeds after the cowardice of the derby. Will not be a good look if we get anything less than six points.

I can see us resting players and struggling to score.

I would have taken the dull draw with City if it meant we win the next few and our game in hand when it comes... Somehow we are well in the argument for top 4 or even the title in this crazy season, when it really feels like we shouldn't.

If we do beat them both we will be on 19/21 points and looking at rivals fixtures over those 2 game weeks we would be right up there at the top.

Exactly. It’s an absolutely critical period. Do you have faith that our team will pass the test? I’m not so sure we have the ability to get the job done when the pressure is on.

7 years tells me we will drop points. But this is where progress is measured. Our squad is better than at any point since Ferguson, the players we might rotate have real quality. Our bench has been making a difference in games we'd have lost last season.

Certainly if we get through the next 6 with anything around 14 points I'd be quite confident going into spring

Yep, in my mind I’m eyeing up a minimum of 14 points from the next six. Any more and I think we are in a really great place going into the game at Anfield.

We are entering a period of major fixture congestion, as if that hasn’t been the case already, which should theoretically give us the edge over the teams we are playing due to our deeper pool of players.

This should be a period to savour, but I just fundamentally don’t have faith in the players or coaching staff. They don’t have the look or feel of winners to me.

Proof will be in the Christmas pudding.

These next 5 games we have to rotate. Otherwise we’ll really start to pick up muscle injuries so I’d like to see us go:

    Henderson
    Williams Tuanzebe Maguire Telles

    Matic Van de Beek

    Mata Pogba Martial

    Cavani

if Cavani isn’t fit; start Dan James on the left and Martial up top

we must use our squad depth and keep everyone fresh

We go to the basement. Yayyy!!! I'd give Bruno a rest for this one. Let Pogba have his fancied free No. 10 role. Fred and VDB deeper. Surely we win this one hey?
