    Check my facts?

I hate saying it. I don't like them. But Chelsea have been a class apart all season.

And as for City. They've been far from impressive and have been saved by Aguero on a number of occasions, but they've been better then the rest too.
You clearly didn't watch those games I mentioned.
My point being all of the teams mentioned have had poor games. We had a poor game today but generally have been in decent form.
City got beat at home to Stoke, if you want to take one game as a sample you can use that and say City are a mid table club.

Chelsea have been the best in the league this season, but they have also played some pretty shit games, the ones I mentioned are examples.

    Talk about hyperbole.

Bloody awful performance, that's two away games in a row now where we've scored twice from our only two shots on target and I'm not particularly convinced that 3-5-2 is the way forward but the three points is what matters.

We're winning games where we're not playing well again and that's a good sign.

I am so happy for the result. Am so happy for RvP, and happy for myself as I have been rooting for him always. And he did it when it counts most. Thank you RvP

Good result, poor game. RvP the stand-out performer. Just the one injury this time. Yay!

To be fair with all the injuries we've been cursed with, we deserve some jammy luck on the results front.

    Entertainment factor - zero.
Only plus point is that RVP worked his socks off and got his goals.

There's been a robbery tonight in Southampton. No way did we deserve the points.
They didnt either. Defensive mistake then crap more defending...then not clinical on the other end. You cant be that sloppy against us no matter how good you play and expect to get anything. We will keep robbing because we can find the extra bit at both ends either with RVP or with DDG even against the run of play.

This was a great win considering we went to Southampton and won, these road games will not be pretty against top opposition and we'll do what we need to win and that's it. No point faffing just get the 3 points and run home. We were without Di Maria, Smalling, Rafael, Shaw, Rooney seemed to be only half back and we still won. Great job by LvG finding out how to go to these clubs and find a way to win, I hope his run continues. THIRD PLACE!

LvG should kiss RvP, DDG and Carrick asses. bloody idiot with his fecked up tactics. i always defended him but he really pissed me off last few games.
You want us to sack him for getting us into 3rd place?

Don't think it's a coincidence that we didn't particularly play well, having reverted to three at the back. Van Gaal obviously feels it makes us more solid, but in my opinion, it makes us less solid, as our players just look lost. In addition to that, our build up play is non existent, at times. There seems to be a lack of options off the ball, hence the great amount of long balls.

Having said all of that, we won the game, and I guess that's the main thing. Its also good that, although we've ridden our luck quite a lot today, we're starting to win games when not playing well, which is the sign of a good team. It was a similar case with Arsenal. That's five in a row now and we're third, yes third. I'm so happy. I just hope we go back to a back four against Liverpool come Sunday.

3 points is 3 points but that was possibly the worst performance of the season. Yes we played bad against Leicester but that was only in the second half, today we played terrible for 94mins!

I don't think Southampton deserved the points, they didn't capitalize on our "shit" play. They could of won but didn't, we've had games where we didn't capitalize on our chances and we blamed ourselves.

I don't get why people think it was such a bad performance, away at Southampton on a Monday night with a lot of injuries, good win.

I'm not taking one game samples. You are. We played very poorly today and against Arsenal. So there is two games in this Renaissance where we've been very lucky to get three points. I'm aware that other teams win games without setting the world alight and I'm aware Chelsea have won games without being brilliant. But over the course of the season so far, Chelsea have been the best team in the league by a country mile.

We have played poorly in about half of our games but we've ground out results in some of those.

I'm not putting United down. We've had an outrageous number of injuries. We've probably yet to have our best 11 on the field together. But as a whole we haven't been great yet. Even in this five match winning streak.

Liverpool will press us just as good as Southampton, they always play out of their skins against us we need to deal with it much better than tonight.

    Lemmy has forsaken us....
The hatred for Evans on here is crazy, he wasn't even that bad today but you'd think he scored three owngoals and ripped off his United shirt in celebration to reveal a Liverpool top underneath.
I know guys with that same hatred in real life too, madness.

I love when he spots a gap and bombs forward.

Been a trainwreck every time he has been on the pitch this season thats why. He owed us a performance tonight and im pleased he delivered. He's far better than his early season form.

RVP is unplayable at time this match...great win and we got the 3 pts we need. Performance needs to be improve. It looked like the players are tired and confused because vof the formation.

Liverpool have been dire for the most part this season. Don't think they'll press us as well as Southampton did today either.
That is a good point, but to me it seems that liverpool always raise their game against United. So I'm expecting that to happen again at OT.

I completely agree. I have a real fondness for Saints (despite wanting to beat them tonight, obviously) and they were far too open in general, and wasteful in front of goal. If we played like that and lost, I'd be blaming us, not feeling robbed. It's such an old but true saying about taking your chances. However few chances we made compared to them, DDG hardly had to break a sweat. A couple of half-decent saves were required and that was about it. He needed to be efficient, nothing more. If he'd been MOTM, then I'd feel 'they woz robbed' but numbers of chances don't always tell the story.

Ofcourse pleased with the three points but not with how we won. Very poor in defence we lacked creativity so bad thank God for DDG and RVP of course. LVG needs to forget about this 3-5-2.
