I’m not that confident. Hopefully I’m very wrong and we storm to victory but feel like the Leeds victory has everyone from pundits to fans thinking we are the next big thing.

Leeds were a team that played right in to our hands, so be good to see how we do against a team that I assume is going to shut up shop and look to not give any space.
This game will end 4-0 to United.

    Trust me :)

You could almost say its Ole's first real test.

    I'm sorry

James is a squad player and that is his role. We have always had players like him , He will be played when we are stuck for example if Sancho is not up to speed for tomorrows game and Rashford is out. I admit he is below starting level for us if everyone is fit but I think its unfair to keep bashing him when He clearly tries his heart out compared to some other players we have . End product isn't great but I think he has been OK not great but also not dreadful . He was our least impressive player last week but we played really well. Think the lad deserves a little bit of respect and support from us.

I'll be gobsmacked if James starts.

He was absolutely lost on the pitch last week.
If James starts it's because he brings worry to the opposition with his pace and diligence. Sort of as a disruptor. Not because he is a clinical finisher. Sucks the energy out of the opposition so that his replacement can finish them off.

Thinking same team except Sancho in for James

Cavani, Martial and Varane all to get on as subs

All home teams this match week has gotten a result, only 2 draws. Soton is not a good side, but they are at home and players like Romeu and JWP seem to always have good moments against United.

Be happy with a result and a win would be a bonus. Home fans are making a difference as expected.

    A win vs Southampton isn't a bonus.

Anything but a win here would be very disappointing.

Considering it's their first home game with fans in 18 months and home teams have gotten results more than usual through 2 weeks...anything can happen.

This is a big match and emotional home coming for Soton. They won't just roll over and if United do win, they have to put in a really good away performance.

Last time we played them we won 9-0. Anything less than a win will be disappointing.

These are the so called "Six-point" games! Because we lost and draw so many last season, we were out of the title race.
Southampton always gave us hard times, tough matches over the last 20+ years ... We have to win this though, without excuses.

Fully expecting Sancho to start and Varane getting 25minutes or so.

Can't see anything but another hammering today to be honest. I expect Southampton to be fighting relegation this season.
Why Ward Prowse signed a new contract, I do not know

Unlike most I hate the McFred midfield. It's okay to play it for specific games but I hope going forward it's not the go to midfield especially with us shoring up the defense with the addition of Varane.

It's a decent midfield against a team like Leed that just play open but with most teams we would need more than just energy in midfield and that's where it simply doesn't work.

3-0 win. Pogba with a goal, Bruno 2 assists, Sancho goal and assist.

We're fecking stacked in attack that the likes of James should never start any games to be honest.

With Martial, Sancho, Rashford, Greenwood, Cavani, Bruno and even Pogba who get played on that left side, that's too many quality players to fill all the attacking positions without the need for James to ever get a start even if a couple are unavailable.

James shouldn't even see any start ahead of Lingard. Dude was poor against Leed despite the entire team playing well. Takes something special to put in a poor display despite the entire team having an excellent game.

Should win easily. Part of me thinks we need to make a statement - these are the sort of games you have to win if you are going to be in the title race. I wouldn't be surprised if we scored five again. I also wouldn't be surprised if we did our muppet impersonation and lost!

    2-0 would do for me...

We will send a message to the rest of the league today with a second thumping of the season. Utd are back bitches.

I have a bad feeling Varane will "flop" here like Schweinsteiger did. He will be fine, but not a huge upgrade on Lindelof. PL will not suit him.

They were poor last week but you'd expect them to be boosted by the home crowd, I still think we'll get the job done though.
