Would love to see an attacking side of us, ie I prefer a 4-2 to 2-0

I don't like the idea of us changing the formation again. We should focus on the last formation so that the attacking players become used to each other and their play becomes more coherent. Continuous chopping in the attack won't do us any favor in terms of consistency I'm afraid.

A couple of goals from Lukaku in this game as well please. It'll be nice to start feeling excited about our striker. It would really ease the pressure on him and set his season up well. Both my fantasy teams would do nicely with those points.

J Pereira and Lindelof to drop out of the matchday squad, you'd guess.

A shame no Carrick or Andreas involved.
Why do you want to see Carrick? As long as Matic can play there should be little need for him.

I like him and find it a little odd the new club captain hasn't been involved in either game so far. Looks like cup games for him, or having to wait for an injury or two.

Same. No idea why anyone would watch last weeks match and want to see Carrick anywhere near the pitch.

He'll get some games but I'd prefer we have a run of 8-10 games without him.

Mourinho has prioritised a powerful start to the season and I expect United to win this one comfortably.

    1. de Gea

    25. Valencia 3. Bailly 4. Jones 36. Blind

    6. Pogba 31. Matic

    8. Rashford 22. Mata 19. Martial

    9. Lukaku
    ____________________________________________________________________
    Bench:
    20. Romero, 12. Smalling, 17. Blind, 21. Herrera, 27. Fellaini, 14. Lingard,

    Predicted Score:
Swansea 0-3 Man Utd (Lukaku, Mata, Martial)

Would like us to try both Martial and Rashford on the wings while it is still early.
No Miki at all? Martial and Rashford lack the passing ability we need from one of those players.

This. IMO Carrick should only play in the cup games this season to give Matic a rest. Jose should keep Matic fully concentrated on the league and CL only.

It was clear from the end of the last season and the preseason that Carrick fitness won't help him much anymore.

Probably the same reason people want to see herrera. They like him.

I would go with the same team that turned over West Ham last week. It's good to see Mata playing again and I thought he was brilliant last week. I'm sure Herrera will be back in the starting 11 when we come across a better team than West Ham and Swansea.

I can see this being a massacre and as much as it pains me to say, I hope it's a real annihilation. I want Swansea to get battered every single game from now til they're relegated after they decided to pretend they were footballers back end of last season and meant Hull went down.

Not that I'm a Hull fan, but the loss of revenue for the City is massive and they looked on course to stay up til Swansea pulled off a few results. They'll go down this season of that I have no doubt. They shouldn't be in the EPL anyway, it's an oxymoron.

I have ‘finally’ decided to go for the same team that played West Ham. Initially replaced Rashford for Martial, and then thought harsh on Rashford. Then reflected on Martial’s very good cameo in the last game, so had both starting; leaving out Mata. However I began thinking Mata is more likely to unlock a defence parking the bus, so he went back in the team. I also had Herrera in at one stage instead of Mkhi but that didn’t seem right as IMO Mkhi deserves to keep his place. So after lots of deliberation thought stick to the team that played really well last Sunday particularly as Swansea are not one of the strongest teams in the league.

I am useless predicting line ups and have yet to get 11/11!!!

Anyway here’s to the same line up as against the Hammers and a 0-3 win to United.

I had 11/11 once. Then someone was injured in the warmup and the lineup changed.

I think the majority are predicting the same lineup this week. There really is no reason for Jose to change. If he does make a change the only change I could see is Herrera coming in for Mata and Mkhitaryan being pushed out wide. With my prediction luck, he'll keep MF the same, drop Mata for Martial.

The line-up predictions are becoming a bit harder to predict which is a good thing because it shows that the squad is much more competitive and there are good choices for the majority of the outfield positions.

I'm confident I'll get 11/11. I see the same line up with Herrera coming in for Mata. Mou would probably like to play a 3 in midfield away. Then again I've seen him play with 2 away last season, so there's that.

If Mourinho is going to use 4-3-3 against strong competition, I think it would make sense test his 4-3-3 formation and personnel against PL teams like Swansea before we play tougher competition. Herrera for Mata and Mkhi to RW.

We should win this comfortably. Expect the same line up as last week but I would like to see Martial get a start ahead of Rashford, I thought Rashford was very good last week but Martial has looked good in pre season and had a good cameo and got a goal last week so think he deserves a chance.
I think we could see Ander in and Miki going wider; not what I'd do, but it wouldn't surprise me if Jose tightens it up a bit

Alright, but are you sure Blind's over Darmian, Rashford over Martial, etc.?;)

No way we start the game with no strikers on the bench. It's either Martial or Rashford.
I agree only one of them will start but your reasoning isnt clear. If Lukaku gets injured(knock on wood) then one of them will move from the wing to the #9 position and a winger/AM might come on. Whats the difference if they are playing or on the bench?

It's not so much about injuries, more about being able to change the run of the game when chasing a result, if needed. If things aren't working out, you can't crack Swansea's bus, will you put Mata or Lingard in?

This is exactly what I was thinking about. Options from the bench. Bringing a forward with pace against tired defenders is a good option to have when chasing a result.

If you don't trust your players to get the job done then why are they in the team?

Like others have said we need to be getting 3 pts in games like this if we have serious title ambitions , I just want to see that this season is different , anytime last season we lucked like we might have turned a corner we would invariable follow it up with a poor performance the next day. We need to be consistently putting good runs together , even this early.

Also if it is choice between Martial and Rashford , I think Rashford is the one who should start.
