This won't be a walk in the park. Emery knows how to set up for these games and we struggle against compact teams.
Agreed....He's a one off specialist which is evident by his number of Europa league final wins. Its going to put a lot of emphasis on us using the width to initiate our attacks as they are going to clog the middle

How did Sevilla do in the La liga this season ? I really havent followed them at all..

and why are we mis spelling Sevilla in the thread title ?
Lost their last match v RM after going 1-0. Madrid really went for it and scored late. Won 2-1

Previous they beat Seville( I think) 4-0 but that was against 10 men when they were red carded.
We know this isn’t a walk in the park. Villarreal have to try and win in a one off. They haven’t lost a game in the run up to this final.

    Just seen this:-

Villarreal predicted team (4-4-2): Rulli; Gaspar, Albiol, Torres, Pedraza; Trigueros, Capoue, Parejo, Yeremy; Moreno, Alcacer

Who in there should we fear? Know all about Capoue and Torres.... not really sure of the rest.

Odds are against us. Emery an EL master and Spanish sides winning 15 European finals out of 15. If Maguire isn't ready its a huge problem too.
Hope we can pull out a great performance and win it. We had a good campaign and it would be a shame to spoil it right at the end.
    That's an outstanding record

Moreno is their main threat. Scored and assisted over 70% of their goals. if we keep him quiet we have a good chance.

Parejo is their playmaker, I expect Fred to be getting around him constantly.

It's a great record, but Villareal surely has to be the weakest Spanish side among them to play a final ? Seville, Madrid, Barca..etc were all better teams of course, and most of them were expected to win their finals.

Albiol, Capoue, Alcacer, Parejo.. jesus, it's like a retirement home over there. No doubt they'll make it difficult for us, as usual.

Still going 1-0 via a Bruno penalty. Villarreal players will be throwing themselves on the floor early doors to get a few yellows for us. I hope we start well instead of the usual slow passing sideways stuff. Go for them from minute one and don’t stop.
Completely blanked on how pathetic the quality of the officials has been in Europa this season. That really is a worry because in Europe, the refs tend to really fall for all the theatrics from some teams - very different to the way games are officiated in the league normally for us. Hopefully Ole has prepared them well to be wary of it.

Gerard not Alberto (of Liverpool fame). Justt looked up Gerard and yeah, he has good stats...my nerves starting to kick in.

    Moreno is the danger man.
I had pointed out that he scored 29/30 goals this season.

Parejo is their best and perhaps most important player. Moreno has had a good season.

Moreno is definitely the danger man in front of goal. They'll be very solid defensively and difficult to break down and will look to play on the counter.

This is going to be a very difficult match.

Moreno, Torres and Parejo stand out.

A couple of average to decent players around them, like Paco, Capoue and Trigueros. But the sum is bigger than the parts with them.

Play to our ability, no errors, concentrate and Cavanis movements, should see us get the job done. It's a one off game and anything can happen. I'm a bit nervous on how we start the game, hopefully not slow.
Can see villarreal sitting back 2 banks of 4 and hard to break down, quick passing and direct play, can see Mctom and Fred starting so there should be enough for the front men to get going. Come on lads .

Supposed to be a 4k stream

For me.... I don't get BT (apart from through the BT Sport app which I can only watch on my phone) so YouTube should be much better as I can watch on my smart TV
Turn off your phone notifications cos I find YouTube about a minute behind BtSports via tv. If you have United fans next door then you may hear the changes though :-) hopefully

Hoping United can do me a huge favour tonight. Dad succumbed to cancer on Sunday morning, and dad would have been elated for Ole to get some silverware this season!
    Very sorry to hear that.

Moreno, 29 goals and 10 assists in 44 games. Parejo a very good player also and will need plenty of watching.

Not sure if he'll start or not but Carlos Bacca is another good forward option including 2 goals for Sevilla in a previous Europa league final, he scored a hat trick recently against Sevilla.

Who is their good keeper? I think he was using a back up for Europa. Has he kept him on again?

Just a thought if God forbid this goes to extra time we might need to save a sub to put in Henderson for De Gea.

    De Gea can't save penalities.
