7 defenders vs Arsenal and still winning 2-0
That was a cup game wasnt it?

    Anyway team for sunday

    Henderson
    A.W.B
    Bailly
    Maguire
    Shaw
    Mctom
    Fred
    Greenwood
    Bruno
Martial/rashford depends which one has recovered better from Tuesday
    Cavani

I bet we see DDG in goal though I'd be tempted to start with V.D.B alongside either fred or mctom aswell but dont think Ole will fancy it.

West Brom will look to free kicks and corners as the way they want to score, so we should really be playing Henderson as he's much braver in the air and isn't scared to come out of his 6 yard box.

Think we will keep the team the same apart from that.

AWB, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw, Fred, Mctominay, Bruno, Greenwood, Rashford, Cavani.

We should be having all the ball so it'll be important we control the match and press high. The only threat they have is Matheus Pereira, if we shut him down they'll be relegated to set pieces.

We need to score early to make them come out and play and give us the space to take them apart.

Always struggle at WBA. Big Sam will be following the pattern all the shit clubs have adopted with a good degree of success and if that shithouse of a keeper is picked again, we’ll deserve what we get.

Really think now is the time to give Dean Henderson a go. Can be presented in the media as WBA posing a more direct challenge so we think he is more suited rather than needing to just say DDG has been dropped.

I feel like Bailly was the man in possession before the injury and Lindelof has done nothing to show he should keep the place, so fingers crossed he comes back in.

    Dean Henderson
    AWB Bailly Maguire Shaw
    Scott Fred
    Mason Bruno Marcus
    Cavani

Marcus and Fred played 120minutes midweek, and so there is potential for Matic / Martial to start in their place.

Would have liked to see DvB besides Scott but with WBA physical nature and it being a must win game probably not going to happen, he can start midweek.

Fingers crossed we see a Jose masterclass tomorrow, and then a big 3 points to take is within a game of City again. The next two weeks will signal if we are the lesser favoured team in a title challenge or in a top 4 race.

The only open question is who starts at keeper. I’d have no problem with Henderson getting the start for this particular opponent, but let’s not kid ourselves by believing Henderson is the superior keeper today.

We only beat this lot 1-0 with a penalty in November and could easily have lost it as they had a hood penalty shout plus some dangerous attacks. Hope that rules out any complacency by our lads.

On paper we should batter them but things dont always work out there way. No way is this a game to give starting minutes to the likes of DVDB or as some suggest Diallo; Henderson though I think he should start (I think he is ahead if De Gea right now).

Depends on what one means by "superior keeper today"

I believe he is maybe more useful against some particular opponents like the shithousery teams. But when Dave is off form, then at that particular time Henderson is also the superior keeper. Dave has been very poor of late, there is no getting away from that, and in some matches he's cost us.

But I don't think Henderson is the answer to that ever more problematic position.

On the topic of goalkeepers I'd hope Sam Johnstone doesn't produce another MOTM performance which he's more capable.

Why are people clamouring for Henderson?!
We should be winning this by keeping the ball and not worrying about 'aerial threats'.
West Brom are not a long ball aerial team, they like to go direct sure, but not a typical big Sam team.
DDG is the better keeper out of the two and should start.

Apparently Amad was meant to play for U23's tonight but was ill and don't think that is a ruse just so we can travel with the first team either

This is the perfect game to start Donny again. Pogba is out due to injury so someone has to step in. Donny has to be the guy not Matic.

2-1 West brom, we'll huff and puff for 60 mins before conceding from a lindelof/Maguire brainfart.
A Bruno pen will.get us back in it on 80 but we'll concede again in injury time from a one v one with De Gea hiding behind the goal.

His form is poor, he’s costing us points. Henderson deserves a run in the first team

Should be a fairly straightforward three points, but I can see this being a tight game, wouldn't surprise me at all if they knick a draw or a 1-0 win.

Miss the days under Sir Alex when we could put a team of second stringers out and still expect a result against lesser teams.
Not even citeh can do that consistently....

As evident by their 1-1 draw to West Brom. When they played

DDG has not cost us points, our defence has.
I'm afraid he has. Wake up to it.

Yes, Our defence has also cost us goals, sure. As has our midfield and attack. We are a team after all. But that has nothing to do with the fact people want DDG out because he too has been costing us goals.

Superb chance to boot Liverpool into touch here and put an 8 point gap in.
