Pogba, Herrera and Ibrahimovic play every single game and run just as hard.He ran his ass off 48 hours ago, a single day of rest and he's supposed to be fully fit?

What lengths exactly? Not seeing it.People going to great lengths to justify Mourinho. Why can't a spade be called a spade? Martial, short of injury, has no right being on that bench.
Racist.People going to great lengths to justify Mourinho. Why can't a spade be called a spade? Martial, short of injury, has no right being on that bench.
They're not human you idiot!Pogba, Herrera and Ibrahimovic play every single game and run just as hard.
If he took a heavy knock, well then fair enough. Why is he on the bench though in that case? also, until either Lingard justifies his start, or Jose gives a valid reason for leaving the best player on the pitch in our last match out, I think we are entitled to be shocked. We need to win this game the way results are currently going, and people want to see our best lineup out there. What's with the mass shock martial is not starting? He put in a huge shift 48hrs ago and took a heavy knock. Seems logical he doesn't start to me. This isn't a game of fifa
Pretending as if he may be injured even though he's on the bench is a bit reaching. He's fine, and he deserves to be playing today. What lengths exactly? Not seeing it.
Just speculating on the inclusion of Lingard ahead of Martial. It's not rocket science to assume there may be an after effect of the knock he took
Get out of this thread ffs.Yes Defoe!!!
Pretty simple, there are less options to replace them. Replacing Herrera or Pogba with Fellaini or Schneiderlin say, weakens the team a lot more than replacing Martial with Lingard.Pogba, Herrera and Ibrahimovic play every single game and run just as hard.
Well, that's that then...They're not human you idiot!
Bit of a simplistic way of putting it. Pogba could be replaced by Mata and team wouldn't be weakened more than replacing Martial with Lingard.Pretty simple, there are less options to replace them. Surely that's Mata?No reason for Martial to be left out. As usual he's the first to be rotated.
Again, this just seems like more fluff so that Mourinho can be absolved of all criticism.Pretty simple, there are less options to replace them. Replacing Herrera or Pogba with Fellaini or Schneiderlin say, weakens the team a lot more than replacing Martial with Lingard.
Possibly.Surely that's Mata?
The last time he was given this amount of stick for being selected was against WBA.Again, this just seems like more fluff so that Mourinho can be absolved of all criticism.
Martial deserves to start today and he won't improve by sitting in the dugout. Hopefully Lingard plays well in his place.
You make a fair point, but Mata for Pogba changes the shape of the team more than Lingard for Martial. By the way, I don't necessarily agree with the change, I'm just putting forward the most logical and reasonable explanation I can think of.Bit of a simplistic way of putting it. Pogba could be replaced by Mata and team wouldn't be weakened more than replacing Martial with Lingard.
Well if you look at some of the fatuous remarks on this thread, you'd believe that we should play the same 11 every single match! If we sell Morgan, would we not need another central midfielder? Being in PL, FA, EL and LC will otherwise, as Martin Edwards would have said, kill the players.
Absolved of criticism? You've got no right to criticise him before a ball has been kicked, it's your opinion over his. If it back fires, shoot.Again, this just seems like more fluff so that Mourinho can be absolved of all criticism.

Sorry, wrong thread.Get out of this thread ffs.
I haven't criticised Lingard. I've criticised the decision to drop Martial. The last time he was given this amount of stick for being selected was against WBA.
How did that turn out for us?
That was the only away PL match we have won this season when he has startedThe last time he was given this amount of stick for being selected was against WBA.
How did that turn out for us?
Hope? It's hope that kills boy! We will winWhy is Martial not starting? Especially as he loves to score against this lot? (sigh)
Anyway, hope we win somehow.
There's a good chap, I knew you'd find a negative in a winThat was the only away PL match we have won this season when he has started
Yeah, I like Lingard and don't mind seeing him start. It's the dropping of Martial I, and am sure most others, are concerned with.I haven't criticised Lingard. I've criticised the decision to drop Martial.
Of course I have. I don't think players that play brilliantly should be dropped. I hated it under Ferguson, I hated it under Moyes and Van Gaal and I feel the same way about it under Mourinho.Absolved of criticism? You've got no right to criticise him before a ball has been kicked, it's your opinion over his. If it back fires, shoot.
If he does that again, all well and good, not pinning my hopes thoughThere's a good chap, I knew you'd find a negative in a win
He played one half then was dropped.Martial said in an interview recently that one of his problems this season has been lack of stamina. This is why his performances have been so stop start. An why its not a surprise that he's rested so soon after such an energetiv performance. I think LVG overused him last season and then he had a long euros too which was too much for a very young player after all. He did say though that he's been working on stamina and its getting better, as last match showed.
Muhahaha.Mane with the winner. Bleh.
