Team is unbalanced IMO. RVP and Falcao just doesn't work and having Rooney in the middle is not helping at all. Players giving the ball away cheaply is annoying too, but our defence has been decent I thought.

Is anyone surprised when we're practically playing without a midfield. Blind in on his own in there. The rest are too attacking. He needs proper support. There is no need to play RvP and Falcao today. This isn't Cambridge or Yeovil. The difference would be immediate if we had Herrera on for Falcao.

We need a proper midfielder in there with Di Maria or Rooney. Having them both in there is a waste of fecking time.

Januzaj needs to buck his ideas up too.

It's individual performances letting us down so far.
Unfortunately Louis doesn't seem to see the advantage of playing Herrera in the middle. We don't need to play Rooney, Falcao and RVP. Drop one to the bench and bring in a proper midfielder. What's depressing is that Di Maria is being wasted right now, not getting the most out of him (to say the least).
I think a lot of it comes down to Louis' reluctance to drop RVP. He feels he needs to keep giving Falcao a chance to show his quality but can't bring himself to leave out RVP, so both of them end up on the pitch. Which means Rooney gets shoved back into midfield. We've got a side full of defenders and forwards.

Hahaha at Valencia hitting the first man on that cross.

i would of cried sweet tears of joy had that cross come in.
Sadly we all knew exactly how it would end.

took 3 weeks to whip it in haha
It was a good block from the defender. You said further back he would hit shins or something...you are just looking for any reason to moan about him...give it a rest.

I'd be happy with fellaini up front and us knocking balls to him! That's how shit our current play is that bloody hoof ball seems a better alternative!!
Well we already are hoofing it quite a bit, it's just Van Persie and Falcao aren't winning that many balls. Fellaini can at least hold it up, and can help us defend set pieces a bit better.

Team selection is all wrong, ADM, Januzaj, RVP and Falcoa just isn't working , what is this Rooney in midfield shite, he is our leading scorer so play him up front, More chance with Wilson up front, needs to change it and soon, otherwise 0-0 is the best we will get !

I find it hard to believe we're clear favorites to win this game on bet365. Especially after this half.

We need Fellaini and Ander on for Januzaj and one of Falcao/RVP. It's so frustrating to us struggle needlessly when the solution is right in front of everyone else bar our manager.

Just how far we've fallen when Fellaini seems like the only attacking option that seems to half work. Im sorry to say, but Luis van Gaal can feck right off, if this is his Idea/philosophy. Its actually an endurance watching Man Utd at the minute. I feel sorry for the away fans, as its how we've played all year away from home.

I don't think it's been that bad, what you'd expect..a really tough game. But I guess you will never stop the matchday thread moaning.
We expect our players to play at the height of what they are capable of; THAT is what we are expecting.

LVG keeps saying hes not happy with performances, always wants improvements, but so far its all talk and no action

Why do we keep failing to take advantage when teams around us falter, we should be grabbing this game by the neck, and is a must win, if we are to stay in top 4, as this season theres alot of teams competing for 3rd and 4th

I'd think about playing Herrera and Fellaini in this half for Januzaj and Falcao moving Rooney further up because we created the square root of nothing once again in an away game.

We'd look much better with an extra midfielder, no point in having 2 strikers if we can't create much.

Yeah I think most of us on here understand what needs to be changed.

It's just infuriating because we will likely see the same exact team in second half.

Normally it's the players playing shit but today is LVG' fault, why is Herrera not playing? Also everyone can see that Falcao and RVP are too similar and as a partnership its not working!

Bring on Herrera and Wilson for RVP and Falcao and push Rooney upfront!

Not a pretty game. In away games (and maybe even home games too) LVG really has to drop one of RVP or Falcao, just doesn't work. Surprised Fellaini didn't start today, he's perfectly suited to this sort of game. I'd bring him on for Januzaj and get Herrera on for RVP.

I'd have thought the lads would have been up for this after recent results and gone at them hard. All I can see on this display though is a draw. We have to take these opportunities.

We just need to get top4 this season then something simply has to change in the summer, we can't go into another season like this.

Our strikers are too static. Work rate poor. We need a midfielder to help Blind.

Our build up play is too slow

Januzaj and Shaw combining well. This is why we need Rafa to combine with Tony to provide width

We have got nothing in midfield. The ball is going long every time and our strikers are playing back to goal, operating in no man's land. It's easy for West Ham. When have we looked like opening them up? We've got nothing down the right, Valencia's yet to land a cross, so that's cut off that angle. On the left we have better players but still not much happening. Van Gaal needs to change the system and the personnel. At this rate West Ham may do us on the transition. Surely Rooney has to play as a striker at some stage too...

What i wouldnt give for a Rooney and Hernandez front 2 right now.

lol 300,000 a week for Falcao and £25million and hundreds of thousands a week RVP and both look garbage. Over the hill, disinterested, no chemistry and pushes our best striker out of position.

    joke

West Ham have 3 actual midfielders in Song, Noble, and Nolan who are waltzing through our winger/striker-filled midfield. Shocking.
    Nice edit.

You a secret West Ham fan?

A striker needs to come off, two up front is offering nothing.

It's really frustrating to see this week after week.

Rooney needs to be up front or in the hole by now, it is is simply ludicrous to leave midfield players on the bench to play a striker in midfield. Januzaj I think can become a no.10, but in the away games against top half sides, I wouldn't be looking to play such a lightweight, attacking set of midfield players (especially 3/4 of which, and arguably all four of them at that, are not even genuine central midfield players).

Our midfield has cried out for Ander Herrera (well, a creative, forward thinking option) for years and now we have him, he's on the bench every week. If I could make the changes now, I'd be looking at trying this in the second half (and quickly):

    de Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera Fellaini
    Di Maria
    Rooney Falcao

However, we'll probably see Wilson given the nod at some point which I'll be OK with if the players behind him play to his strengths.

    Need this win.

Our attacking play simply isn't working. Too little movement from Falcao and RVP, and our midfield isn't passing it around well enough. Get one of the two strikers off, put Herrera on and push Rooney further up. You know, get people playing in their natural positions.

How much more proof do we need that playing two poachers up top and Rooney in midfield creates the very imbalance that Louis bemoans?
