I didn't really like it, I've had it on the back burner while I played a few other games. Combat mechanics were fine and gameplay was good, but it's habit of not telling you things and being obtuse as possible was getting on my nerves a bit.

Well up front I don't like the direction the story of the second is going. However if you do end up liking it, then playing the first will make it more meaningful and give you the full picture of Ellie's journey.
