  1. Ralf Rangnick | ex-interim manager | does anyone rate him?

Yeah I agree they’re not the most physical team. He came third with a team that had won the league twice in 4 years. There was a period of adaptation and huge investment to get them to the point they dominate games like they do now. I wasn’t suggesting we need to be the most physical team...
  2. Ralf Rangnick | ex-interim manager | does anyone rate him?

I reckon PL experience matters to some extent in that that style of play is very different when compared to, say, Holland. in the Dutch league there is pretty much no physicality and it’s very much positional play focused. Therefore there would be an element of the game to adapt to. Not a deal...
  3. The cost of failure

40m a small price to pay for not having to be managed by Moyes, Jose or Ole.
  4. Potential striker signings (who aren't named Højlund)

So glad I read this thread, I didn’t know many of these names… my best idea was trying to buy Werner cheap and seeing if he could revive him :D:D
  5. Ralf Rangnick | ex-interim manager | does anyone rate him?

Great post, I like reference to the coherence of the vision because I think that has been our biggest problem, even within the tenures of individual managers. Ultimately I think one of Ole's biggest problems was lack of coherence with his own ideas. For instance, he said he wanted to get width...
  6. Ralf Rangnick | ex-interim manager | does anyone rate him?

Ralf has turned relegation form into decent form but I still think we wont make top 4. If the players weren't allergic to being ahead in games then we'd have a shot but the points dropped from winning positions will cost us. Any match going fans noticed how ever since we came out from HT early...
  7. Neville confirms what we knew all along

100% I have for a long time blamed Ole for dodging big decisions: why is pogo still here and leaving on a free? Either he signs or is sold for whatever money we can get - pandemic didnt help but make the decision. Same for Lingard. Why are Hendo and David still at the club? It's obviously one...
  8. ¿If, not, Ten, Hag, Pochettino, or, Rangnick, then, whom?

No one fancy Ernesto Valverde? Did well stylistically with Bilbao and was very good at Barca.

That standard for success or failure is so absurd its a joke. Like the majority of this thread. Realistically no one we appoint will be better than Pep or Klopp, so should we just carry on with Ralf as anyone else is going to fail by the standard that they won't win the CL and won't beat City...
  10. Wayne Rooney Interview

Does anyone think the decline argument wouldn't hold water if we hadn't met Barca in the 2011 CL final? We'd have beaten any other team, and won the double. We then lost the league on goal difference and then won the league by 11 points, was it? (Would have been way more had SAF not announced...

It's an interesting situation and I think Poch is getting some bad press here! When he went in to Spurs the headlines surrounding them were that their squad needed an overhaul - lots of players with big egos who weren't performing. Within 2 years he had a squad full of players playing for him...
  12. United Hour podcast - Magic of the Cup, my Arse! (Boro defeat)

Great pod @Rood - I’ve been looking for a United podcast to listen to where the emotional component of a result isn’t the be-all-and-end-all so I really enjoyed this! Personally I think there are lots of positives to take from the last few games despite the numerous off field negatives. I...
