  1. Can anyone explain how United's player recruitment strategy works?

Surely it is simply the fact that the club was run for several years by someone with no experience whatsoever at running a business and no experience at football. It's like getting the builder of a hospital to run it and make clinical decisions.
  2. How do we sell Harry Maguire?

I'll give you £100 for him right now.

Maybe you're the one everyone is forced to like.
  4. Anyone but United fans: What do you make of the Ronaldo who has returned to the PL and would you want him in your team?

Probably not, but I can understand why you did. Football's not just about long term strategy, sometimes you have to live in the here and now. So getting Ronaldo back was like that last heroin fix. Great while it lasted but probably not great long term.

Re the 4 picture analysis of him using his hands. (I am not allowed to quote pictures). What a load of rubbish. Split second decision DDG thinks, 'Hmm best not use my hands as they can actively push the ball over the line. Best to let it bounce off my chest.'
  6. United appoint Dominic Jordan as director of data science

Says the article. I think they mean 'more complex' but anyway it's a much harder task to predict football than stocks. Stocks go up or down numerically and there are a number of known numerical inputs likely to influence this. What are the football equivalents? Should we sign Luke Shaw or not...
  7. Long term strategy and planning with short term solutions

Good post. I'd certainly agree some clubs have a long term strategy (eg Chelsea, City) whereas others make it up as they go along based on what they read in Shoot comic (eg Spurs, Utd). Perhaps managerial longevity is coincidental? Get someone who fits your system and they may stay long they may...
  8. Conte | Spurs Manager

I've also wondered about this. And in most SciFi movies opposites - or different versions of the same person - meeting each other lead to the End of the World. That would be typical Spurs.
  9. Ole Sack Watch

Yes, i did. I agree with you but you can't see the poll unless you vote.

If you win this weekend then maybe you can have Nuno soon after.
  11. Anthony Martial | 2021/22 Performances

I'm not sure, I think no legs would affect his heading too.
