Maybe Blind is going to play in the middle of the back 3 as the one who brings the ball out and starts off our attacks, with Jones and Rojo like two pit bulls either side of him for protection, essentially how I imagine Hummels would have been used.
I'd say so, the tip of the triangle and the tip we badly wanted too.

@The Black Pearl I like that a lot on paper, and we haven't seen anything close to that so far this season due to injuries or signings.

The formation is getting a lot of negative press but until LVG can play the system with his players then it can't be dismissed or branded a failure.

Done deal according dutch journalists.....he's already back in the Netherlands with the national team......just paperwork stuff
He could at least be in Manchester for the photo with the shirt, no? I would feel a lot better when I see that.

I don't mind Carrick as a backup, but Carrick is a lot of our problem as well. He has great passing vision, but he never cuts off play.
Yes. At the risk of being labelled the caf bore, we could extend Carrick's playing life by signing a solid ball winner. A hold up player who can buy him (and the wingbacks) time to find that bit of space to play the killer pass he's so adept at. I thought we tied Carrick's hands (or should that be his feet) by insisting he carry a share of the defensive duties.

Signing Falcao is nice and all, but why haven't we presented Blind yet? He's much more needed.

I believe medical and photos are done, we will just announce everything in one go. Blind was at Carrington yesterday so no way he hasn't completed his medical yet. I think kit photos are done too, they are just waiting to be announced.

We should do a wwe style entrance for all our signings. First blind, then Falcao, then while they are doing the press conference stone cold music plays and Vidal turns up and gives stunners to every reporter!
I've actually been of the opinion that we should scrap those fecking trumpets and bring the fear back to Old Trafford.

First bar, crowd goes mental. Darren Fletcher runs out in full Braveheart get up complete with Sword, Kilt and historically inaccurate face paint.

That is one thing where I can see Fletcher fit very well in, including the (real or symbolical) showing of the butt cheeks to the other clubs. :D

I can't wait to see what shirt number he will officially take. I hope he'll take the #17 since it was his lucky number at Ajax.

Anyone else have a vision of some Ajax offcial who's been sat at his computer all day, with the announcement already written out, just waiting to press the button?

No, just me then? :nervous:

Great buy, good technically, intelligent, young, versatile, good looking! I completely approve.

Welcome to the club Daley!

I thought he looked good at the WC, but I haven't seen anything of him apart from that.

Can a Dutch football expert give me a quick breakdown of what he's like as a player or perhaps tell me if there's a page in this sprawling thread with said info?

Inquiring minds want to know!
