In an ideal world Ajax ride this core deep into their primes, instead of getting picked off.

This is why when I become supreme dictator
If there was anything good in the world this is what would happen. It would be so pleasing to watch this crop of players grow as a team together. Alas we aren’t in an ideal world and they’re going to be picked off.

Poch playing to give up possession and hope for the break, I think were gonna get ruined here tbh.
Don't think it's by plan, it's just that Ajax are better at controlling the game than Spurs.

The CL is a glorified FA Cup set to music

orderly disembarking on planes
Sissoko has been our 2nd best player all season, key in all of our big games (including pissing all over Man City in the first leg) and is hugely press resistant. He's also a massive, MASSIVE step up from Wanyama who is barely fit and just back.

Winks has had superb performances vs Madrid & Barca in the CL and that kind of CM is crucial in these kind of ties, the ones who can pass the ball and keep it calm. We lack any kind of tangible midfield and are forced to drop Eriksen far too deep. That makes a huge difference.

But yeah whatever, they wouldn't change a thing.
I agree with you.

That said, you won't get much sympathy from neutral fans on this one. A top PL side against a side from the Netherlands? Even with the caveats of Tottenham not spending much and being hit hard by injury, the narrative will only go one way if this holds, unfortunately.

He really doesn't look well. They have to take him off.

Medical staff of Spurs failing here. How do they not see that he cannot carry on like that? Shouldn’t be the player’s decision in such cases.

It makes a huge difference no doubt, but I think they’d still play the way they are right now and quite possibly also dominate you.

I feel for you, having to play such an important game with those players up front. On the other hand, it’s kinda your own fault for not investing in the team last offseason.
They wouldn't be doing it nearly to this extent. You can see our weak points and they're being hideously exploited.

No amount of money we spent could replace missing players of Son or Kane's quality.

I don't care what they did in the last round. Right now they're doing this to us because Llorente is pointless, Wanyama has lost it 3-4 times and can barely pass, and we have zero threat on the counter.

Son, Kane and Sissoko in particular would make a huge difference.
Excuses excuses.

I can't imagine that the club doctor really cleared him twenty seconds before he became sick like that. Managers have to stop putting pressure on the medics. It's just fecking football, you pricks.

(If that's what happened, but I'm guessing that he would've shown some evidence of concussion before he came off)

Spot on. Can’t believe they let players in such a state carry on.

I think it is the plan, Ajax clearly playing the better football, so we were never gonna outplay them. We have played with three at the back a few times and it always seems to end up with a lot less of the ball.

Spurs playing a bit better last 5 minutes, can still see them getting a goal.

Spurs medical staff look like amateurs don't they. Even the officials knew he was fecked
Either that or Pochettino and his team pressured them to clear him. Either way someone comes out of this looking really bad.

Absolutely. Should never have been left on. Bad look for the game that.
