Given the injuries great result. Stop moaning about the performance with so many absentees what the feck did people expect?
Our squad to be good enough to handle it and still provide a bit of entertainment, would be nice

Very good win. We kept Leicester silent lot of time even though Leicester hade more ball and we had lot of injuries. Happy with the win, happy with the performence. Best were McTominay followed by Young and Maguire.

Got to give credit to Solskjaer once more for tactical setup and for the subs. I hope that his start this year keeps on and that he can silence anti-Solskjaer brigade. At least this week.

And people actually think this Leicester City team is better than ours and will finished above us this season . They're fecking shit and create nothing apart from the 1 shot that De Gea saved. 3 points, clean sheet, and a small step to build from here. Onwards and upwards

Trash performance but a big 3 points given the starting 11, I thought Maguire and AWB were easily the standouts and really kept Leicester from getting much joy in the 2nd half where we offered absolutely nothing. McTominay grafted hard but his lack of quality on the ball is an issue when he's supposed to the attacking CM in the midfield 2. The usual suspects were poor as they often are, the best part of the game was the scrap in the corner at the end.
I thought Fred was actually decent when he came on. Looked lively.

Midfield is a big issue for us though. I wonder whether Pogba - Mctominay - Fred midfield would actually be best for us. I can't see how Andreas, Lingard or Matic deserve to be the third midfielder.

A win and clean sheet.

For all Leicester's bluster, they were outfought by a rag tag midfield. Mct was superb- he was our midfield.
Maguire, imperious at the back. Forwards worked hard in a game of no clear cut chances.

We finally scored a penalty. Let's not underestimate the bottle he had, and he hit the bar with a brilliant free kick
This. If anyones depressed by that performance, just look at leicester forums and you'll feel better. (hint: they are saying almost the exact same things about rodgers as we are about Ole)

I am definitely going to stop watching Manchester United. Wtf. This is terrible, terrible. Why do we suck so much? I mean this is outrageous how pathetic we were over last 4 weeks. Build the team from ground up. Get rid of all the players, all the coaches, get relegated and let's start fresh. This is just unbearable. I am not seeing any silver lining. I am actually smelling a disaster of a season.
How does Leicester dominate possession and look so dangerous against us when we are at home? I think this team actually will not get to spring in Europe League unless something drastically changes.
Too obvious..... Nice try though.

McGuire and Lindelöf very solid in the second half when they were under a lot of pressure at times.

Very worrying how little we create in terms of scoring chances and shots on target etc.
It's the midfield that's the big problem. It needed addressing in the transfer window even Stevie Wonder could see that.

In any case, just adding Fred and young Chong and we seem to play with more energy. Matic is no good.

Guess Gomes needs to sign a contract to get a chance.

We played and dominated the three games we didn't win, so anybody saying more of the same are really just building their own narrative. this is the first game we had this season where we did not perform well.

I think most will agree with McTominay as MOTM. The absolute chasm that exists between the top 6 PL teams and us in terms of passing, movement and creativity isn't closing but widening.

I would happily accept these soporific performances if I could see there is a plan or progress but sadly there isn't!

In a 4-2-3-1, we need more creativity from the 3. But at least we're defensively solid and clinical when the chances do come.

A squad needs continuity players like Matic, Mata, Pereira and McTominay. But when they all play at the same time, our passing is going to suffer.

This season is a definite step in the right direction, though.

Yep. Leicester wanted to counter attack us at home, so we didn't set up to attack. Made them a lot less threatening, even after Ayote came on to support Vardy.

Boring game, we offered nothing. Very lucky to have 3 points.
Lucky? How?
Lucky win we were shit.
See above
Shit team wasting time like it is blackpool or something like that
What team doesn't waste a bit of time in added time protecting a 1-0 lead? Errr. all of them

Fred was surprising. Hasn’t had any game time in ages yet looked sharp. Pogba - Mctominay - Fred with Pogba pushing forward might be our ticket.

This must be how fans from a mid table team feel. I mean I’m happy we won, but it’s painful to watch and is irrelevant in the context of a season in which we will finish outside of the top 4. One meaningless match after another.

Being hungover doesn’t help

I thought the midfield was quite good in stopping Leicester. They never had control of the midfield and never really allowed to attack our defenders which has happened a hundred times in the last three games. Attacking wise, yeah that just didn’t happen.
Yeah, looked like the plan was to protect the back four as much as possible, and they succeeded in that. Attacking wise, we were poor. It does not help that Matic was crap, and Mata and Periera could barely hold on to the ball.

Wow this is how 3 points feel. We took early lead and shut them down. DDG didn't have much to deal with so as their keeper. Draw was fair result but we did have our share of curse last few games so this is good.

Needed more quality in attacking areas but looked more solid than usual too. As expected in my opinion. By playing Pogba where we do we introduce a huge defensive liability and simultaneously cripple his ability to contribute with his attacking talents. Should just stick him at number 10 and be done with it.

With the injuries we had, my focus was on the result.

My observation was that we were probably the worst we've been all season, but a combination of solid centre back performances, solid keeper and a bit of luck got us the points.

No pogba no nothing.

This season is all about scraping together as many points as possible in difficult circumstances; it's very much a season of consolidation to create a good base from which to progress next season. On that basis, a win today and top 4 is a good position to be in.

Still won't be good enough for some, who will want Ole's rebuilding job burning down and to start again with someone else (but God knows who).

I don't how we won that but we did! All about the 3 points though, but we do need to improve.

Going forward, Matic and Mata should not be starting. Fred looked fresh and up for it when he came on, put us on the front foot alongside Chong. Ole needs to place more faith in them

We may need to ditch elements in our attack. The pressing was good at various points, but the individuals in attack were so poor at the basics that it made it difficult to hold possession. We need additional quality in attack. We need to see how good these young players (Gomes and Greenwood) truly are before we come to a conclusion as to how we move forward. As an aside, Rashford is not a 9.

That was shite, but it really shows how weak our squad is right now. Pereira, Matic and maybe Mata is not even Championship quality. McTominay does a lot of huffing and puffing but is not ready and it speaks volumes when hes our best MF player by a country mile.

Fecking hell. We really need some new players

McTominay was very good in midfield, and that defence did very well as a unit and offered very little to a dangerous Leicester team. Attack looks toothless, but we know without Martial the attack is light, and the absence of one of him and Rashford actually diminishes the other players around the attack as well.

Happy with that. Pretty dull football and can't say I particularly enjoy watching Mata or Pereira but they were very effective today, kept possession well and created enough for the win. Good to see Chong come on and do ok and delighted with the clean sheet. Fred's performance was also a positive and I finally actually thought Ole's subs were decent and reasonably well timed. Still desperate to see Gomes get a chance though, hopefully there's an opportunity soon.
