So Merc sacrificed a 1-2 for the sake of equality... Admirable in a way, but incredibly dumb in another. Nice drive from Bottas anyway.

Hope we get more drivers calling out the stewarding post-race like Max did in his interview.

Races has been generally very good ever since the break.

Shame how dominant Mercedes was earlier on, otherwise we would have had a heck of a season.

How was it dumb?

Lewis is getting the WDC, getting it today or a few weeks later isn't going to change anything. It's always good to keep the second driver happy to do what the team needs, Bottas got what he deserved today and rightfully so.

The race finished early due to that technical cock up so Perez got P9 and Hulkenberg got P10, would have been mental if Leclerc got the fastest lap on the final lap or if Hamilton got past Vettel and it got overturned due to the mistake.

Leclerc has been called to the stewards on two counts, the collision with Verstappen and continuing with a car in unsafe condition.

Not 'equality'. They effed Bottas multiple times. They just didn't want another fiasco like the Singapore one.

Charles Leclerc handed a 15 second time penalty for his collision with Max Verstappen, and driving his car in an unsafe condition.
Spot on , he should have got it during the race IMHO.
5 seconds for the collision with Max seems about right, same as Vettel/Bottas from France a few years back. The second one is interesting, race director apparently talked to Ferrari on lap 2 and got told he was coming in so didn't throw the black and orange flag only for Ferrari to change their minds when the debris fell off and hit Hamilton's car. They were then going to leave him out for longer but got told he had to pit by the race director. On the one hand, the race director is a sodding idiot for taking their word and not throwing it regardless of their claims but it certainly puts Ferrari in a worse light. Lucky to get just 10 seconds and a 25k team fine considering the stewards pointed out that he could have pitted on lap 1 and they acknowledged how close it was to a "major incident" with Hamilton.

Racing Point have put in a protest about Renault using an automatic brake bias system, would be Ricciardo's luck to fight back to P7, get promoted to P6 due to Leclerc and then get disqualified because Renault remain masters at shooting themselves in the foot.

I think Leclerc was pretty close to a Black Flag , it would have been warranted I think.

Quite agree. The infringements were perfectly obvious during the race and it seems to me to not have the same impact on the driver when imposed after. Maybe the stewards wanted to talk to him.

10 seconds for driving an unsafe car, and putting others at risk seems light. I would have thought it warranted a much harsher penalty

So what is the rule on false starts? Ok to move as long as you come to a complete stop again, behind your line, before the lights change?
Some movement inside your line/box/whatever is allowed as long as the car is completely still when the lights go out, which was the case here.

I don't understand how they let off Ferrari so easy for LeCleric's damaged car. I was watching the highlights and it looked so dangerous. We are extremely fortunate that a driver did not suffer serious damage from that....

I may be the devil, but i'm not a monster
Good to know. Thanks
Effectively works no different to a driver pulling up to their pitbox at the end of the warm up lap as effectively, the start sequence starts at the start of the warm up lap, not when the lights come on. As long as they are within the confines of the box and not moving when the lights go out, no false start.

That’s great to hear because I couldn’t believe they weren’t initially going to investigate it when it was so obvious.

Ripped off Hamiltons mirror. Imagine if it hit his body instead.
Yep, but still kept going, ridiculous from the stewards not to do something at the time.

Couldn’t agree more.

If we took that 1988 invincible Mclaren-Honda and put it on the grid today, is it sure to finish last ?

And is there any car from the past who you would pick to be competitive against today's cars ?

Wow. Bottas probably the last one on the track I'd expect to mess up there.

Could be a penalty for Max if they decided he didn't slow enough at the final corner, went purple in the final sector but obviously the stewards will have the data to check the specific area. They might just disqualify the time which would keep him on pole or it could be a grid drop.
