6ix9ine seems to be trolling on the stand. Heard he’s had a few laughs from the judge. He’s definitely a character.

Gang Starr have released a new song and maybe a new album, despite Guru's death. Got Cole featured on it and it's pretty good. I miss that style of rap sometimes.

Shame about J Cole's verse. It's a good track, and J Cole's verse is fine, but I'm not sure he really suits their style. I often think that their strongest albums are from that period when they drifted slightly away from conscious hip hop and into hardcore, but those strong albums contain some of their weakest individual tracks. Like 'Aiiight Chill' off Hard to Earn is dragged down by odd feature spots, you know?

I liked Gang Starr but there was only so much brag lyrics you could stomach .

Felt like every song was about how great he was and little else

I heard Premier considered Cole, Kendrick and Drake. I think Kendrick would probably have fit on it best.

That being said, Cole's features have been amazing this past year. He's excellent at tailoring his verse to suit the song and not just basically emailing over a random verse. Pretty Little Fears (6LACK), Tribe (Bas), Trippy (Paak), Sacrifices etc...

What?

That is not true by any means.

Listen to "JFK to LAX", "My Advice 2 You", "Betrayal" for starters. Guru could be very introspective and vulnerable at times.

Looking for the answers...
Jay z sampled Cutting Crew's (i just) died in your arms tonight. Can anyone tell me which album this featured on?

I thought it was blueprint III / Magna Carta but can't find the track anywhere! Anyone know where i can find it.

I’ve heard the track (on some mixtape) years ago.

Surely it would be a mixtape?
I doubt he'd get sample clearance to be able to put it on an album.

it was on a mixtape and I don’t think it was an actual song. Just his lyrics from another song mashed up on to the instrumental

Sounds about right.
An official Jay-Z song over I just died in your arms would surely be one of his most popular songs.

I vaguely recall Papoose rapping over the beat. Damn, remember when he was everyone’s next big thing?

Such a simpler time in rap
There were about 40 remixes of 'Touch it' & Lumidee's 'Uh Oh'

Alright hip hop sleuths, I'm looking for a dj clue mixtape circa 1998 that had Puffy's "all about the Benjamins" as an exclusive track on it.
According to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It's_All_About_the_Benjamins

It was 'Holiday Hold up' in '96

Did DJ Clue have the best mixtapes in the 90s? His drop was definitely the most iconic, I think.

Yeah the industry is fecked up. I just recently heard a new verse from him, didn't know he was still at it.

Hopsin's back with Tech and Merkules. I've never heard of the latter before, but I like his sound.

Any thoughts on Conway's latest project "Look what I became"? @adexkola

I think it's solid but a bit forgettable. Not monotonous but misses any bangers.

Edit: thank god Eminem is not on it
Crazy enough but I like Conway the least out of that collective. Will still listen, I've heard most of his stuff but apart from a few tracks or collabs with Benny and WSG its been one listen only.

Are they affiliated with Eminem at all? Last I saw, Benny got a Roc Nation chain. But yeah, it'd be a shame to see them go the Slaughterhouse route.

Ha, I like Conway the most from GxFR. WSG as a rapper isn't too great but knows how to turn albums into pieces of art in his own way. Benny is a lyricist no doubt but a bit too generic for me.

I don’t know what's the deal with them signed to Shady and Roc, my guess is that they're signed to both but for different purposes.
