I'm totally buzzing off your positivity
Realistically, that team will stop any team in the PL.

Would be an interesting game to watch.

Maguire spreads the ball to the left flank to start a counter, Rojo snatched the ball, a couple of stepovers, rabona cross to Dalot, Dalot lay off to Jones, Jones..Jones.....JOOOONEESSS!!!!

PHIL JONES SCORED FOR UNITED AT THE 95th minute, Manchester United..is back to their best!

Magnificent header of his face to the ground, the ball literally bounced of the back of his head, confusion for Allisson, and the ball went in!

    Ole's on the wheel!

What's this stat, out of interest?
We allow the least shots on target in the EPL and have the lowest expected GA.

On top of that, MUFC is ranked third in avg posession, 5th in aerial duels won, 5th in pass accuracy, 5th in shots per game, third nastiest team with 19 yellow cards. And dead bottom last in finishing quality (I made that up, I haven't checked that stat but I'm pouting so I'll present it as a made up fact).

Fact of the matter remains that our on pitch play coupled with our finishers not taking a undeserved vacation in the middle of the season opening, would see us somewhere entirely different in the table as opposed to the mess we are currently in. These injuries are killing us.

    Subs would be:
    1. Grant
    2. Bailly with his casts on
    3. Timo Fosu
    4. Dishon Bernard
    5. Max Taylor
    6. Laird
    7. Ercolani
    8. Brandon Williams

FA won't notice, nobody cares anyway. I don't trust our attack!! Let's park the bus!

Maybe even nick a one nil :-)

Can't argue with any of that.

Hopefully we will stop trying to play with a number 10 as we do not have anyone good enough for this role.
    Play 4-4-2 with Romero(De Gea injured?), Bissaka,Lindelof,Maguire,Shaw, Pereira,McTominey,Pogba,James,Martial,Rashford.
A.Madrid are one of the teams that play 4-4-2 and I think letting Pereira fill in for Pogba when he would push up could be a strong move. When defending our strikers would fall back very closely to the midfield 2 and the team would have to keep a compact shape both when sitting back or pressing. I think trying to play with a number 10 like Mata,Lingard or Gomes(I hope he will be ready one day) is clearly not working and IF Rashford and Martial can supplement each other and AND work very hard then I think this is the answer for us.

This could go 2 ways imo. We will be outplayed in either scenario.
Rashford will shin one in and win a flukey game, and they will do everything but score. The other scenario we get hammered 4-0 and probably we have 0 shots on target.
I can see either scenarios happening. Usually its like an FA cup game where either side could win it.

Can't believe the club is going ahead with this game. We are in no position to play Liverpool.

So Pogba, DDG, AWB, Shaw, and Martial all out for this?

    It's gonna be a long 90 min.

Ole will not play 3-5-2. It will send a bad message to the fans and a positive one to Pool.

We can't use properly the 3-5-2 as we don't have enough IQ to use the space. Or we can say that Ole and Phelan are not clever enough to make us play with this formation.

It will be a 4-3-3 probably, with Matic Pereira Mc Tominay in midfield and the mindset will be to defend low and hope for a miracle.

Like I said two weeks ago, it will be the last "real" game for Ole, as if we lose this one, he will be gone after Norwich and Bournemouth.

Hope I am wrong, but with one or two more defeats, we'll be around 15th 16th position and that's unbelievable

A mate just mailed me De Gea is out for "2 months".

Yet I can't see anywhere saying that. It's all "might be" a risk for the weekend.

Sound quite different ends of the spectrum!

Reading that link, Pogba might have a chance still, but the others being a doubt still is worrying. How can Shaw and Wan Bissaka still be doubts for goodness sake.

Putting my mystic Meg hat on, judging by Ole's tactics so far you can almost guarantee we'll see a return of the diamond midfield & Mata starting at 10.

Yeah it's the Sun who are saying he might be out for 2 months, right below it they also say Allegri is very close to becoming manager

This might be the first time we've played Liverpool and I'm debating whether or not to watch it or just check the final score.

And I'm optimistic along the lines of anything can happen in a derby...

Seen a few things on Twitter but nothing confirmed yet, wouldn't surprise me if 2 months with how the season is going, everyone seems to be out for ages!

Few back Sunday hopefully, dreading to see the patched up side we go with.

So I know you're all full of doom and gloom at the moment but I've been watching Liverpool for 20 years now. In that time I've seen us win at Old Trafford five times:

    0-1 in 2000/01
    0-1 in 2001/02
0-1 in 2003/04 (Murphy scored the winner in all three)
    1-4 in 08/09
    0-3 in 13/14

It's a wretched record and I'm pretty sure it's our worst ground for results. United winning this game is far from unlikely.

In all that time, United have never been this bad. And you could argue Liverpool have not been this good.

There's an argument to say that United were playing worse in 13/14, even if the squad is worse now?

I'm absolutely dreading this game. We've always done okay against Liverpool, even in our lean years (a few stark examples aside) but I have no faith in this squad to put up a decent fight. I hope it just isn't an embarrassing scoreline.

After the big win against Chelsea in the first game of the season, I was hugely optimistic and thought maybe the grit, "United Way" and togetherness would get us through a tough season. How quickly that faith dissipated!

Come on United ... let's use this game to turn a corner. Failing that, lets at least not get a humping!

Wretched record because United were simply better than Liverpool for the best part of 2 decades. Roles reversed so you can stop playing the poor mouth. United have become like Everton whereby hoping they can nick a draw at home to Liverpool. Truthfully this a game Liverpool should be winning comfortably but it won't surprise me if Liverpool get the rub of the green to win 2-1 or 1-0.

Not for me. Moyes, as bad as he was, is a much better manager than Ole. Our players in 13/14 were coming from the winning the league just months before. Except for Pogba and Maguire, nobody would get into that team. This is the worst United team in 25 years.

This is starting to feel like when we played a depleted Arsenal and won 8-2, have the feeling we’re going to be in the end of an absolute humiliation.

Thanks for the added context. Suggest we need a few tweaks as opposed to a massive overhaul in order to be in a more respectable position
