Think we will be the better team in the game. Either we win or we leave the game rueing what could have been a win.

I would take a 2-0 defeat. Really fear they could go all guns blazing and beat us by 5 or 6.

That said it will probably be a close game in the end. Whenever we fear of getting hammered, the game is actually not half bad.

Liverpool is the team I hate above any other by miles, city, arsenal etc don’t come close. A point on Sunday would be a good point (obviously for the preceding reasons a win would be fandabtastic but unlikely unfortunately given our form circumstances)

Snatch anyone’s hands off if it was available

It is the pride of our club, in my opinion, any result against any opponent on OT less than a win is not acceptable for me. I can accept the result after the match if we did our best but did not get the result. But settling for it in advance, no.

I think Liverpool will win, but only 1-0, I can't see a rout. At best a scrappy 1-1 or 0-0 draw

Obviously. It's better than the 5-0 thrashing we're getting

It's all down to the players what to do. Sadly every week now, we can tell exactly what each player is going to do down to the last detail. But yes, I would take a draw right now against the Champions. I'm expecting a 3-0 lost, knowing united they'll beat Liverpool and lose to Norwich. I miss the old united. They'd lose to the big teams and lose to the small teams and still win the league:D

I think we can get a result this weekend. Our poor perfromances have come against shitty teams. With the teams who are "projected" for the top 6 (other than us) we have 2 (Chelsea and Leicester) wins and a tie (Arsenal). Liverpool obvoiusly won't sit back and obsorb pressure. Ole has to get his tactics right though. We stand no chance if we play a 4-2-3-1. We need to counter down the flanks and cut off their midfield. This game has 4-4-2 diamond written all over it with our forwards pushing out wide for the counter attack. I also won't be surprised to see a few players return after a long time off which will definitely give us a boost. But then again, I'm always the optimist so we'll see...
Arsenal tried that tactic and Emry got massively criticized for it. Apart from one or two chances they had we dominated the game from start to finish so I'm not sure why you think that is a good idea.

Nah. We haven't won in what seems like ages. Don't care who the opposition is, we need to win. We're at home. They haven't beaten us here in a long time.

Even last season, we got 4 injuries in the 1st half, Rashford played the full 90 with one leg and we were still the better side. Generally they don't perform well here.

If we had Jesus Christ himself playing, I don't think we could muster a draw against this lot.

You are all cowards. We’ll beat those pile of dippers on Sunday, mark that down now and come back here after the match
Blind optimism, that's what I like to hear.

It’s clear from your responses that quite a lot of you haven’t been to old Trafford to see a Man Utd vs Liverpool game.

The result could be ANY scoreline. It really could. Old Trafford, despite what all those shitheads at sky might tell you, is a god damn scary place to play if it’s rocking, and it will be on Sunday. That’s the one benefit of our atrocious last few seasons - the fans have a reason to be extra loud.

Our defense is not Arsenals. And I think it's a good idea because there is space to take advantage of down the flanks with Roberston and TAA always way up the pitch. So when you guys are in possession we should have our forwards wide (or at least one wide). And with a 4-4-2 diamond we can have our attacking midfielder man marking Fabinho to cut off his service. We would then still have 7 players behind the ball to take care of the rest. I'm not saying it's going to necessarily work, but for me, it's the best way to try and get a result. EIther that, or I could just be like most of the other people on here and just lower my expectations and predict nothing but doom and gloom. Unfortunatley, that's not my style...

The bookies have liverpool odds on and united at 3 to 1. Insane odds.

I know what you mean but if liverpool don't win they should hang their heads in shame. We are absolutely woeful at the moment.

I’ve been many times pal but with all the will of the crowd I’m still not optimistic, I’d love to be proved wrong. We don’t seem to be able to put a team together consistently while Liverpool never seem to have injury problems and are on what is it now 18 straight premier league wins?

I’ll take 0-0 with the hope of a scrawny winner which we had to rely on when we were good many times.

No negativity in this one. Take the game to them, get the crowd going and we have a chance. Ok maybe a slim chance but get the first goal and anything can happen. Far better than sitting back and waiting for the inevitable. If we lose at least let the fans go home knowing the team put everything into it. Not sure we have the players who can roll up their sleeves up though.

We've won 7 of the last 10 vs Liverpool at OT, only 1 defeat. Unfortunately, we were a much better side under Mourinho/Van Gaal and Liverpool have improved somewhat in the interim.

This is surely the largest gap in quality between the two sides that there's been in the Premier League era.
No chance. We've had some superb teams and they've had some shte ones.
This is just a reversal.. Nothing much different.

I'd be satisfied with a point at 6.30pm on Sunday. We're about 5 levels below Liverpool at the moment, so matching them over 90 minutes will mean punching abouve our weight.

But on the Friday night before? Nah.

Feck yeah I'd take a draw. People saying "United should never settle for a draw" or "we're at OT ffs" have outdated mentalities. This united side is not a United side, we cant hold this group of players to the same standards.

I don't know, perhaps being continuously fecking shit for years running with this year being a fecking epitome of it has perhaps made some take a more realistic view?

A draw would be a fantastic result for us, I'd take it. Would also break their winning streak

I don't even consider Liverpool a rival. I'm 28 years old and I've never seen Liverpool win the league. For me it was Arsenal at first, then Chelsea and then City. Who the feck gives a shit about Liverpool? they're insignificant to me. I hate Chelsea more then I do Liverpool. I couldn't care less about Liverpool that's how meaningless they are. They never ever went toe to toe with us for the league since I can remember. Chelsea were the one's i used to hate when I was a kid and not Liverpool. They're nothing more than a glorified Tottenham or Everton.

Everyone has a plan to play 442 against us until we punch them in the face
