So let me get this straight, White House personnel are refusing to testify to clear themselves of crimes they are accused of? Surely if they are innocent and have proof of that they can not only testify and clear their names but also in doing so reinforce the 'witch hunt' narrative in the public eyes. If they were innocent this would be an incredible opportunity to bury the Democrats. The republicans aren't known for passing up these opportunities. If I was accused of murder I'd damn sure want to clear my name.

not only that, the repubs used the fact that US state dept and White House had withheld notes and other readouts from Sondland to say that Sondland is not a trustworthy witness because he doesn't have those notes to remind him of everything. Thats some double-triple back-front flip right there.

How ideological, greedy or self-centred do the republican party have to be to continue supporting this man just for the sake of it? We all know that most politicians are more interested in getting elected than trying to improve the living for the non-rich people that got them elected, but there must be a limit? Surely?

And how f*cked is the governing system that allows for him to become president? I guess this is what happens when social and mass media gets to hyperbolic with the average citizen being as perceptive as a mirror.

Think it's quite clear that Republican supporters do not care about crimes that violate the Constitution. They care about making money, living comfortable lives, and pushing down those who get in the way of their livelihood or their view of America.

They are greedy. Trump means they have power and they are not about to relinquish it for something as stupid as ethics.

The OK Boomer thing is a bit silly perhaps but there is an ugly element of truth behind it.

Republicans not even pretending to be after the truth. This party is too far gone.

Crazy isn't it... I'm going to miss his ability to do completely mad things when he's in prison
Yeah I know the sennet will let him off in reality
He might as well have written “I’m not a crook” in all caps

Powerful statement in conclusion from Schiff. I understand that he's a well off politician who's possibly been involved directly or indirectly in his share of wrongdoing and has his flaws. But it's admirable how he's conducted himself and led the proceedings so far in the face such opposition and disruption from Republican counterparts and constant vitriol and mockery from the President and his entire far right apparatus. It's not an easy fight, but he's set an example.

Trump's got to go, recent bombshell testimonies have made that clear.

Mitch McConnell will be judged harshly by history if he fumbles this.

He doesn’t care. This is the guy who brazenly stole a Supreme Court seat and over a hundred judge confirmations against all precedent. He has literally no shame.

listen to the series on him in NPR's Embedded podcast and you'll understand he doesn't give a flying fck about that sort of things. If Mitch had thought he can have a repub president in 2020 by removing Trump then he would have removed Trump more than a year ago.

Should be interesting to watch Trump go on the offensive now. I can't see him letting the investigation dictate the narrative if he can help it.

I'm surprised the next major distraction from Trump and Co isn't on the way. It is not like him to let news cycles be dominated by Democratic talking points or reactions to them.
