feck the Rafael haters..

Our players don't have the fear of Ole. Rashford had another one of those performances tonight as if he's too good to try.

It's time thanks for the good times Ole, but it's time now. This was horrendous.

The only pattern I can see is inconsistency, we are over a reasonable period consistently inconsistent, the players are trying but they don't know what they are doing, I know Ole has done lots of great things structurally for the long term and I appreciate that, but I have always reserved judgement on who is the right manager to make it happen when those foundations are in place, we now have a very good squad, after a shite start, we then won and played well against newcastle, psg and leipzig, then the last two performances and results just jilt you, there seems to be a lot of chopping and changing in formation suddenly, imo just fecking go for it gung ho, we are Manchester United that is what we do, the fact he knows that as he played under the greatest manager of all time is frustrating, sometimes it happens, sometimes it does not, it should be the absolute objective at this club, sometimes it is just as simple as committing more players forward.

A joke I read on a YouTube video:
Some guy said that McSauce is as useless as the extra button you get with a shirt.
With regards to today's performance, I expect many more games like this.
In the league we are wretchedly bad and against the worst team in our CL group, we lose because we could not motivate ourselves to beat them.

If Ole is replaced, will the next manager do better? Not sure.
The problem is Woodward and the owners. While Woodward is here, we will not win the league.

Thank God I am not paying money to watch a team with no heart or passion and a manager who at best is a second division manager. The tactics he employs are
a complete and utter shambles.

I'm sure he's not fit, and is just being chucked on randomly most of the time, but he looks terrible.
Agreed. He looks quite frail which I’ve never thought of him before.

Losing to Comeback Winning!
This is... a Manchester United team?
Embarrassing.

Istanbul B really did their homework and preparations well. Good organized low blocks and deadly counter are out kryptonites. No Fred+McT to stop the counters. Yep we lost. Ole lost this game tactically.

Bright spot seeing Rafael again and a player that goes all out every minute he is on the pitch.

Lots of attacking quality in the squad, from midfield and attack just no balls to implement it as a policy to make other teams deal with it, feck adjusting to teams, (there will always be exceptions) make them adjust to us, until that happens same shit over and over.

Apparently its the first time this team has ever won in the CL. They have now against the mighty Manchester United. Thanks Ole.
Well this was their third game in the competition so it's not like they ended some embarassing losing run against us.

Our bottom level really is absolutely pitiful. We've looked clueless in 3 of our last 4 matches. This is becoming very untenable.

That felt like a seminal moment to me. The players don't forget how to mark, press, chase and the fundamentals that have got them where they were. A combination of downing tools, being poorly coached and having no set plan/tactics is a recipe for disaster and a disaster we do have.
I think it's more the coaching than the players giving up. The changes to the lineup probably didn't help, but that's the thing. When you're a team that is well coached and drilled, you can make a couple of changes and the team doesn't lose it's fundementals. But we're not well coached and so it requires very little to take us completely off course and make us look as if we have no idea what we're supposed to do.

When he took VDB off, even I was frustrated for you guys... guy doesn’t have a foggy, I have no doubt a random person in the street could play a more tactical game.

what a load of garbage that was, the first goal was pure comedy, do these players get any coaching, we dont seem to have a formation or style of play, we can only play on the counter but if teams sit back against us we cant even do that, it really is piss poor, a good manager and decent coaches would do so much better.

Awful team set up and awful in play management. Ole does not play to players strength.
I think you could tell in the last few weeks that the penny has dropped with some players that Ole is out of his depth.
He still does not know his best 11.
He will resort to his old faithfull set up in trying to absorb the pressure and counter attacking against Evertons injury/suspension hit team.
On a plus Cavani looks lively with out any one picking his runs out atm.
Oh how Cavani would have loved playing in a Ferguson era team full of crossing wingers.

The state of that. Especially the first goal which was like watching Sunday league. Absolutely shocking.

The issue when we lose under Ole, is that there are usually zero positives to take away from the match. Like, our bottom level under him is shambolic.

As bad as Moyes vs Sunderland and Van Gaal vs Bournemouth. Just a series of random assortments of eleven players wearing Manchester United shirts. There was nothing to suggest the players had any understood strategy between them. There was nothing to suggest that the manager’s changes had any real tactical purpose.

One of the real lows post-Ferguson.

Ole is slowly turning into moyes. Keane was right, these players will throw any manager under the bus.
We are a joke at the minute, on and off the field.
This could be a new topic on its own, I agree this batch of players as Keane said threw Jose under the bus as they are with Ole.

That being said, was Jose his own worst enemy? He got it right about 2nd place being an achievement with them. Was his management style outdated and was he always going to turn players against him?

Has Ole had it coming with his inexperience and lack of any tactical/coaching knowledge? We don’t have a best 11, we don’t have a set style or formation!

At this level, IT DOES NOT MATTER who your coach is, you KNOW not to do that.

Not pointed at you, just at the obvious observation of that goal.

I knew in feckin JUNIOR school that if me and all my mates on my team would go in the opponents half and pretend to all be strikers that the opponents can easily run the other end of the pitch. It doesn’t need coaching.

Wow, just watch the 1st goal. I am speechless, nobody is even marking him in the their half. Ole and defenders deserved to be sack. Just wow, how can that even happen. No excuse at all, biggest club in the world? Joke.

 What the feck was that first goal. This embarrassing lot go and do some things to act like a real football team and then they wake up and take a steaming shit and all walk away from it going "not me innit".

Don’t worry lads, we are making progress! Better football than Mourinho! Culture shift! Got rid of deadwood!

Seriously, Ole out. We need a new manager imo. In fact, that last minute goal line clearance is a blessing in disguise. That would have been the biggest paper over the cracks ever. Maybe we needed a loss like this to wake up, as if the previous ones weren’t enough.

The problem with united is that we have so many players that are bought who are then played in a position that they aren’t used to.

For example:

AWB was a defensive RB at palace. He had Wilf Zaha in front of him who would provide crosses into the box. At united we ask him to be a RB who regularly puts crosses into the box. That’s not his game.

Paul pogba is a box to box midfielder. He had two cdms behind him at Juve who would protect the back four. We play him as a CDM. That’s not his game.

Maguire is a CB who likes to sit deep in his box as during his time at Leicester they were a counter attacking team. United play with a high line and press. So Maguire often has to run back towards his own goal which he is slow and can’t do. That’s not his game.

Martial was part of a team where he would play with two upfront at Monaco. We ask him to play as a number 9 and hold the ball up and bring others into play. Which he is terrible at. The amount of times he misplaces a 5 yard pass or falls to the floor is ridiculous. That’s not his game.

The point is we continue to buy players that are not suited to the way we wish to play and until that is resolved we will never progress.

This team can f*ck off. Spineless, gutless cowards, with no pride in the shirt. Only Van de Beek and Henderson made an effort. Two of the worst goals I have ever seen conceded. No urgency or guile to try and come back. Usual pedestrian, predictable play in attack. 68% possession and 2 shots says it all.

Win at PSG, 5-0 over Leipzig, then this tonight, to let the others back in the group. Totally unacceptable.

Having watched this dross I then watched Leipzig v PSG and even a casual look showed that however good or bad these teams are the application , pace , speed of pass and passes going forward was in total contrast to Man Utd players strolling around passing backwards and sidewards like zombies on tranquillisers was obvious .
Like most posters how Ole thought that subbing off VDB for Pogba was a good idea is beyond me . Jogba did the usual of getting caught on the ball,, backing out of tackles and slowing play down . What is this diamond shape nonsense ? My biggest worry is that Fernandez was awful again and looks unfit and weak . Is this another case of world class players coming to Old Trafford and immediately turning in to average players ?
A loss against Everton should be the end for Ole but with the Glasers still seemingly behind Deadwood nothing is going to change .
BTW How is the search for a director of football going ?

I stil can't process how inept we were on that first goal.

A half decently coached team does not concede goals like that.

Ole won't be sacked any time soon but it's clear he and his coaches aren't up to it.
