That’s how they started last season. I’m not sure they’ll be able to get away with being so casual this season.
Agreed. United, Chelsea and Liverpool have the quality to pile the pressure on this season. Title race could be a cracker.

As great a player as grealish is, and he is great, city was always a bit of an odd fit in that he doesn't really offer much different from 5 or 6 players they already have.

He also likes to slow play down in the final third, where that has been the area where city play quicker this last 2 seasons.

I suspect that had the crowd been singing about Kalvin Phillips at the euros, they'd have bought him too.

Nuno is class, he will keep Spurs tough and competitive. Not top 4 worthy but definitely top 6.

Might? They totally did. Catching City with no Kane, no Stones/Walker/De Bruyne/Foden, and with Grealish still settling in.
Yeah, I didn't want to take away from their performance but City will know they have plenty of room for improvement and the reinforcements to make it happen.

Uhmm it's Tottenham that didn't have Kane available. He's still a Tottenham player.

Would you agree Guardiola had a full deck of cards available, when they got knocked out by Tottenham over two legs in the CL a few seasons ago? Or when they got beaten by Tottenham half a dozen other occasions? Why is it that you think that having those players available, guarantees them victory or guarantees them to avoid defeat?

Guardiola has never won at Tottenham's stadium, you do realize that?

Kane won't play for Spurs again.

I'm just saying while we all enjoyed a City defeat, let's not remember their woeful start last year, but how quickly they turned it round.

They need Kane up and running, they need De Bruyne properly fit. Same with Walker and Stones.
Add those 4 in and it's properly a force to be reckoned with.

Of course yeah, I agree with that absolutely. They'll grow in strength and then it would be interesting to see what happens.

Coventry looked totally unbalanced, with absolutely nothing happening on the right. Not sure where Squealish fits into this team. Seemed to be in the way of Sterling. He isn't half the player De Bruyne is. He may catch the eye doing his tricks on the touchline, but you can't see him clocking up the same numbers that Bruno achieves every week.

If Spurs had Kane playing, they would have scored 3 or 4.

Mendy and Ake are championship standard. Fernandinho is old and slow. Moura was moonwalking around him. Not sure what the point of Mahrez is. Ederson looked shaky in goal and didn't come for crosses that landed right in the middle of the 6 yard box.

Anyway, top weekend for us.

I like M.Richards. Mentioning how Pogba hasnt said anything himself about leaving but he gets abuse, and Kane doesnt turn up for training and hes a saint.

And Neville and Souness trying to defend Kane and go on the attack on Pogba. Yep.

Sourness really doesn't want to talk about United in the capacity of title contenders  living rent free in his head

No draws this match day. Has it happened before on opening day? Or any match day last season. Just random wonderings.

Really happy for Spurs today and especially @LilyWhiteSpur and @balaks etc

Whatever happens the rest of the season it was great to see Spurs fans singing are you watching Harry Kane and put in that kind of performance without him. City put in their place. Enjoy.

Spurs closed off the middle of hte pitch and made City play thru the outside which is similar to what teams did to us last season. In those matches, that's when we really struggled simply as we didn't have a target to get on the end of crosses which City couldn't do today either.

So easy to say you have insider info but can't say what it is. The guy is a wanker !!

Son will take a lot of the plaudits today (and rightly so he was great), but I'd like to single out Moura- what a stunning display from him. Goes to show what a change of manager and renewed faith can do to a player

There wasn't a single draw across all 10 games. That seems like it should be unusual, but I have no idea it it actually is

I read somewhere there were no draws this round. A rare thing?
