This is completely off topic but does anyone know when the Arsenal home game is going to be rescheduled for? It was originally for the 30th of November but the official website says it’s tbc when it will be rescheduled. Will it probably be the day after?

I can believe some refs are fans of other teams and/or not keen on Utd and this could influence decisions, but not unconscious bias of what Klopp said.
I think that consciously or unconsciously they are aware of the narrative in the media when they are on the pitch. Klopp complains we get too many penalties and what do you know we start seeing stonewall penalties not being given. Cause and effect is established. It can work the other way too in that if you complain enough that you are not getting decisions then it can influence an official to maybe give a soft pen or give an advantage some other way. I would love officials to be complete robots who enforced nothing but the rules fairly in every situation but for as long as they are human they will be susceptible to outside influences. Ole is merely trying to right the balance when it does seem that United are currently getting the shitty end of the stick with decisions.

Ole is right we were denied penalties but not sure if going full Klopp is right way to go. Could have been bit more subtle.

I haven’t watched the press conference yet but if Ole has gone ott on the penalties then GOOD!

A lot of us said after the last game that he needed to go borderline with a ban, other managers do it and refs seem adamant on not giving us/Ronaldo a penalty currently, put the spot light back onto the refs.

Fergie did it. If you allow yourself to be rolled over, you would be rolled over. People like Klopp cannot be allowed to influence the referees in any way and we should put pressure on these same referees to give favorable decisions to us. This "holier than thou" crap needs to stop and Ole needs to be ruthless.

Ok. I hope he brings machete next match and hack referee if they don't give us penalty.

Not before time that Ole spoke out about Klopp rant that clearly influenced refs whereby even clear penalties aren't given to United now.

love that he called out Klopp. Nothing but facts. Ever since that twat opened his mouth the refs have given us nothing. Ugly German bastard.

no offence to any of the sexy German bastards on this forum :)

I think what he did against West Ham was more appropriate. Yell at the 4th ref for a solid half hour while frothing at the mouth.

Pretty ridiculous thing to say too.
This is taken straight out of Fergie's "how to play mind games using the media" manual.

He doesn't give a feck about Klopp - he just wants to, potentially, influence the refs themselves.

Whether this sort of thing actually works (whether it'll work for him, not least) is an entirely different matter - but it's clear what he's trying to do.

I think you'll blunt Ronaldo's impact and goal scoring if you shift him out on the wing for Cavani you'll regret it he doesn't have the legs anymore to beat a man consistently and won't track back plus they'll be treading on each other's toes as they want to attack the same spaces.. it's a disaster waiting to happen IMO. Only should be used when we are chasing a game and desperate for a goal.

We are playing well, scoring goals and top of the league (joint) with Ronaldo as our number 9 not Cavani.. why change a winning team when it isn't broken Ole? And when it doesn't work then what go back to Ronaldo as number 9 to salvage our season when it's too late?! :nono: this is typical Ole.. trying to shoe-horn players into the team even if it upsets the teams rhythm/balance.. can't Ole just leave a winning team?

bring Cavani on when we are chasing a game and need a plan B yes it'll be amazing the best plan B.. but starting him no. You can afford to carry 1 older players.. but not 2.. it'll be like playing with 9 men especially when Ronaldo isn't tracking back (leading to the opposition scoring) and scoring goals people on this forum and the media will attack him when it's not his fault because Ole should've kept the same (winning) team..
Literally he has not done any of that yet! Its a throwaway comment in a presser that they can play together. Get a grip bro.

Yeah, this. People are getting carried away far too easily as per usual.

He isn't lying either - they could play together, in theory. Doesn't mean he's suddenly decided that the best way forward is to pretend that Cavani is Benzema - and we've all time travelled back half a decade or so.

Also refs are very much chasing a career at the top level, so I seriously doubt that. I´m pretty convinced that every ref in the PL go out there trying to do as few errors as possible, knowing their every move will be scrutinised by those hiring them in the first place.

So he plans to play Cavani and Ronaldo together? How, Ronaldo on the wing?
If we are pressing for a goal (like Wednesday), we could add Cavani to the attack and play with two up front, but I doubt we´ll ever see them together from start of games.

I doubt it. How many refs have lost their jobs because of too many errors? I doubt if the people "hiring them" are really that ruthless. They seem to pretty much agree to all decisions.

Yet Klopp can get them to change their minds on giving us pens

No, you don´t end up as ref in the PL unless you have proven yourself to be reliable enough. There are stats for refs as well and you can get relegated, or if you make less errors than others, you´ll be rewarded with the biggest games, such as a cup final. No way will any ref think "I like Leeds, so I´ll see if I can give them a penalty". It´s not so different from any player; you can be a boyhood United fan, but if you play for the other side, you´ll still do your very best.

Yes, it´s possible that they unconsciously will be affected by that, especially after a period when United have been rewarded quite a few of them and it has become a thing in the media. But because they are West Ham fans? No.

Good on Ole for speaking out on the pens.

Last week was a joke.

Didn't Clattenburg tell the media that he went with a gameplan for the Spurs-Chelsea game, that whatever happens he is not going to send off the Tottenham players? So he gave them yellow when they were clearly taking out Chelsea players and deserved reds. He said "I benefitted the game by my style of refereeing". This is a guy who reffed a CL final and and a Euro final.

They may not openly give wrong decisions to their favorite teams, but they can make it harder for the teams that they don't like.

Yes, I´ve checked out that story, and it looks a bit suspect, I must admit, but I don´t think it had anything to do with him not liking Chelsea, but the idea was rather not to give Tottenham anything to blame if they lost. Weird story, anyway.
