Well, he can walk on water...When you have him then you do not need anyone else.

Its 7 games and we are on 2pts a game which if mirrored over the season results in 76 pts.2 pts more than last year and not enough to be anywhere near champions.Stop it. It’s 6 games in .. 30 left.we’re 2 points off the top.
You could even make the argument that our current squad is on par with the squad that won the league in 2013. If it wasn’t for midfield it would even be better.Ask yourself, if SAF had this squad you’d be expecting a league title and probably a very good swing at the champions league. There is a squad of players there with enough talent to win any game and put a huge run together. It’s unlikely but still possible.
Doesn’t work like that though..Its 7 games and we are on 2pts a game which if mirrored over the season results in 76 pts.2 pts more than last year and not enough to be anywhere near champions.
No it might be better... or worseDoesn’t work like that though..
We are exactly like Chelsea under Lampard, underperforming and inconsistent. Luckily for Chelsea they could see this and were decisive in their action. They have improved significantly under Tuchel and won the CL. Sadly for us I can't see the board doing the same as Chelsea did. Imagine if we had picked up Tuchel instead and Chelsea had stuck with Lampard, I'd imagine our fortunes would be reversed. We seem no better now even with the addition of new players. So we are stagnating while our rivals progress. How can the board be happy standing still, we haven't really improved under Ole, our squad is better but the standard of our play isn't. We are no closer to winning a title now than when he took over. Would love to see us get someone like Erik ten Haag in, he's done incredible work with Ajax over the years. This is likely to be Cavani's final year, possibly Pogba's and Ronaldo will be a year older so we don't have the luxury of time. Ole has steadied the ship but I can't see us progressing with him at the helm.I think deep down we knew Ole wouldn't win anything big but it was exciting to see a legend at the club in the top role, in the hope of glory and getting the club DNA, and a guy who was immersed with Fergie. Chelsea realised Lampard (legend) wasn't up for it and now Tuchel is killing it.
I think I was expecting the boost in team confidence to glue things together but now it's very clear that we need a better coaching team to give us some cohesion in the middle and grit at the back.Or is it still far too early in the season to come to such a conclusion?
The Guardian paints the real pictureOr is it still far too early in the season to come to such a conclusion?
I thought we're not only look great for about 15-20 minutes in the first half, and after that, once Everton got a grip on what we're doing they were comfortable at containing our attack.I actually thought the performance today was arguably our best of the season, but judging by the posts here I'm guessing the result is stoking posters into a frenzy as they genuinely thought we had a chance of winning the league, I never did so the performance was more important than the result as Ole and his coaches had lost my faith, we looked like Mourinho's United in the last 2 games, today we looked like a properly drilled football team. The fact we have no midfield was always going to cost us, some seemingly underestimated how poor McFred are, they're not good enough to get into a number of PL sides midfield, nevermind City, Liverpool and Chelsea.
No it might be better... or worse
well yeah.. that’s the nature of football for every team.No it might be better... or worse
At the risk of stating the obvious, City are a very good team. They'd gotten 98 and 100 points in two of the previous three seasons. So everyone knew City had extra gears to go into. In our case, we need to reach a level that we've never managed before under Ole and never really shown signs of reaching. So comparing the two situations isn't that relevant.Last year City had less points than us after 7 games and won the league comfortably. I wouldn't panic at this point we still have a lot of time to moan if things don't improve, it's a long season.

We have some weird fans who think management is like football manager. Choose a tactic, buy players, with time it worksDid anyone hand on heart actually for a minute think Ole would ever be capable of winning the league considering the competition he is up against? Rival teams have the likes of Pep and Klopp. Ole regardless of how much backing he was given will never win the league or any other major trophy because he's simply not good enough to do so. Top 4 is the only goal he can aquire. Only way Ole could ever win the league is if the rival teams were managed by the likes of Allardyce and Pulis.
Then ole should be held accountableIt was obvious at the start of the season. Our squad lacks balance, and even when they are playing well, most of them are bottlers. AWB isn’t a footballer enough for a progressive team and McFred have regressed from last season. Sancho, expectedly, hasn’t made an impact yet and our CBs are good, but not good enough to save us from our other weaknesses. Which are obviously not just related to how good our players are, but our manager too.
I don't buy into the narrative that we lack players who can control midfield. There are teams below us that have been assembled for a fraction of our budget that manage to outplay us. Do Villa, West ham, Villarreal, Young Boys really possess vastly superior midfielders than we do? The amount of money we spent on Fred alone would make for a very decent transfer budget for many of the teams that outplay us. It's a lazy excuse in my opinion and has been over emphasised by many on here as a way of defending the manager. Its early days but whilst we have an embarrassment of attacking options we lack players who can control a midfield and feed the attackers. Top 4 is my expectation but never say never.
Probably he should. Our signings under Ole and especially Jose leave a lot to be desired. Dalot, Fred, Matic, Van De Beek, AWB. (Some may even add Maguire and Lindelöf, or even Sancho.) That’s a lot of money wasted on players who really aren’t good enough to win us a PL title. Then ole should be held accountable
its way too early for such claims
That's not true, Managers Improve players by teaching them things but we've got a Cluless manager, and that's our biggest problem right now!!We don't have the midfield to win it.
its way too early for such claims
I too think we can still make a push, things haven’t even came together yet and as you say we aren’t playing well. I believe we can only improve.I agree it's far too early. We aren't playing well, some loose decisions and line ups too, and not many players in form but no other team is really looking elite at the moment to be honest. Still really early days. Some big matches coming up, momentum could swing, and we have started slow last 2 seasons.
Thank God the manager and the team don't share the same mentality of most of the fans in this thread. Bunch of wet wipes.
