He was not comfortable on the ball, and not claiming crosses. Onana is excellent at the first and better at the second thing. No he seriously wasn't. You can argue that DDG wasn't good enough sure - but he was never worse than Onana has been.

In the mid 90's - Leicester (in the Championship at the time) signed an australian goalkeeper called Zeljko Kalac - the guy was a beast at 6'6. But his career in England turned out to be a short disaster (he did redeem himself some years later when he moved to Italy) - but I still to this day more or less remember how one sports writer described himHe was not comfortable on the ball, and not claiming crosses. Can the Saudi's take Rashford too? Might be nice to get wingers who can pass and beat their man every now and then.Tweet

Yeh no sh*t, sherlock.I'm stating the obvious here...we ain't signing anyone in this transfer window.
I think you're being kind by saying "at least 2 levels below" in regards to savings shots on goal. Which, in my mind, should be the number one trait for judging goalkeepers. But I would say that Onana isn't in the same universe as DDG when it comes to making saves. And yes, DDG isn't in the same universe as Onana with the ball at his feet, but that just doesn't move the needle as much when you can't trust your keeper to make routine saves. In the mid 90's - Leicester (in the Championship at the time) signed an australian goalkeeper called Zeljko Kalac - the guy was a beast at 6'6. He was big, strong, good in the air, lightning reflexes and have all the attributes to be a top goalkeeper. If he could only learn to save the ball. This is basically how I see Onana. If only he could learn to save the ball
You are basically saying that since Onana can claim a cross and distribute the ball he is a better goalkeeper. Well he is awful 1 vs 1 - where DDG was excellent. He goes to ground every time and a composed striker can simply chip it over him - which Icardi proved with ease. He is awful at freekicks - I have seen more freekicks go in against Onana in 6 months than I saw DDG concede in 3-4 seasons. He doesn't have the reflexes to make these supersaves that DDG was known for.
Basically yes - he is better in the air (but not great) - and he is granted excellent with the ball at his feet - but he is at least 2 levels below DDG when it comes to saves. And noone can seriously say that what Onana has shown so far has strengthened us compared to when we had DDG in goal

Plettenberg already reported that this has no relation to the Zaragoza transfer, but I can see how it'll make that departure easier to deal with for Granada.I assume this means that Bayern gets Zaragoza already in this transfer window.
There's no purchase option, and we're covering part of the wages.Every other loan deal tweet it gives the fee, whether salary is covered, whether there's any purchase option.
With Pellestri, nothing, no details whatsoever.
So we're paying someone to play him for us?There's no purchase option, and we're covering part of the wages.
This surprises you why?So we're paying someone to play him for us?
Well, I can't imagine he's on a huge salary.This surprises you why?
If Girona paid his wages in full, he'd be their 5th highest earner. I doubt they seem him as anything like the 5th best player in their squad on arrival. Pellistri is on a modest contract only by our own insane standards.Well, I can't imagine he's on a huge salary.
Every other club in Europe gets a loan fee for any old crap, yet we can't muster a few million for a, potentially, really good player.

PSG headquarters in Qatar
- Nasser al-Khelaïfi attends an ECA committee meeting. Campos also on site
- Paris still want a defender. No L.Yoro despite Mendes/NAK meeting a week ago in Doha
- It cannot be ruled out that PSG will not recruit another player before Thursday

Hell, I'd sell him just for those daft tattoos that he has.I think I'm getting old because seeing a neck tattoo just makes me immediately assume someone is a twat.
Great that they're covering his wages in full. Sink or swim time for him this at Man Utd. Not that him being by the club in the summer means he won't go on to be a great player in the future but new regime might not fancy him unless he wows on loan.
