Bruno has been unusually slow and cautious, couple of times he could have turned and played a forward pass and he's taken all the impetus out of the attack by just casually rolling it back to the centre halves. Bit more urgency and awareness needed.

Garnaco always looks a bit predictable on the right for me. Antony is very frustrating but wouldn't mind seeing him come on for the 2nd half on that right-hand side, or even Amad

not gonna complain about the scoreline and it's great to see Hojlund with a world class finish getting us the lead, but I'm full of worries for the second half looking at the game we play and expecting ETH magic. ehhh

Who’s got a tackling assist for Hojlund, was it Casemiro? Technically an assist for sure

Think Amad would be great in this game - his dribbling ability and decision making would really help us on the right.

Other than Hojlunds brilliant goal and one or two other moments he was involved in we've been quite poor.

We are just sitting off lertt them have complete control of the game. Don't seem to have any interest in pressing or trying to attack really.

Seems we are hoping to defend our way to a clean sheet but tbh it's very boring and I'm not convinced aiming to win 1-0 is a good tactic for us as we almost always find a way to concede.

Anyway very happy we are winning and how much Hojlund is growing as a player

not even really pressing them with any intensity
That’s just the problem. We are giving them the freedom of the park and it’s only a matter of time before they break through and score. We pass too slowly and move too slowly which gives WH all the time to reorganise. We need more urgency and better passing.

Wow, you're still at it. And you're surprised that he's scoring goals now that he is being passed to? Do you even want Hojlund to succeed here or do you just want him to fail?
Ah so now theyre passing to him, before they werent

I hope attacking towards the Stretford end can improve us. If we click we can beat this bunch of Moyes wasters.

The efforts some will go to defend him. I’ll call a spade a spade no matter who it is. He’s jogging about the place there. It’s not good enough
I’m not defending anyone. If he’s running around and passing forward at every opportunity he’s blamed, now because we are playing like wank at a snails place he is to blame because he is the captain.

Utd are not getting Mainoo on the ball enough, 19 completed passes to Cas's 39 and Bruno's 30, the traditional Ten Hag third midfielder problem.

1 up take it, it's not pretty, stop giving corners away , must be the worst side to give away corners. Improvement needed from Rashford and Garnacho both been wasteful with the ball.

Pretty good half. Casemiro is trying too many cute passes and that's hurt our possession. Usually Bruno is doing this but he's been good keeping the ball. My big worry, though, is McT will come on for Cas and then our midfield will be wide open.

Hope Amad comes in for Garnacho around 70'.

All in all good half, West Ham haven't had a sniff. They were just crossing and trying long shots whole half. And funny thing is, some people use those inflated useless shot statsas "proof" how they were so much better than us.
They had one-two chancec and thats it. We are in control of the game and tempo. As you said, crosses and long shots don't mean anything.

Good matured performance. Could have been more forward thinking with the ball a couple of times (esp Bruno) but I like how we decided to dominate and control the ball instead. We can't always be playing at a frantic pace throughout the game anyway. Certainly better than Zombie football.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Eriksen for Bruno, think that will help us be a bit more penetrative in possession and keep hold of the ball in advanced positions better.

Walking football at the end of the half, get a 2nd rather than wait for them to score to motivate us ffs

Shit half to be honest. Hojlund very nice goal though. West Ham far better than us, the amount of shots we concede is insane. Also, we never win the first header from set pieces... It undermines everything we try to do as a team, how bad the set piece defending is. Needs to improve in the 2nd.

Solid shape but unspectacular. Both teams short of quality. West Ham have had more of the ball and opportunities but they haven't really troubled us. We have been the same. The one moment where shape was lost for them was the goal.

I can't see West Ham having such a lack of intensity in the second half. We need to keep the ball and control possession to kill the game.

No glorious chances but they’ve put Onana to work — one outstanding save for sure — and they grew into the game after the goal.
I wouldn’t say they’ve threatened us other than that corner which forced onana into a save, which was deflected off Casemiro anyway. They’ve huffed and puffed and had a lot of the ball, but they’ve done nothing with it.

Please no. It’s like removing one struggling player who might do something for one struggling player who definitely won’t.
    he has zero energy though

it’s a quick turnaround for an 18 year old

I know Antony is shite but at least he puts a shift in

Whoever it is I hope ETH makes use of the subs today as at the moment it’s looking bad

We play like a team that's been told to play with more control, and have interpreted control as just play slow and sideways. Its very Van Gaal. Lots of possession, no end product.

I am glad that a few times in the first half players have shouted at Bruno to stop playing backwards. He's in the team for invention. If he's going to play like a crab just take him off. At the moment he's offering about as much in midfield as Phil Neville used to. I'm sure his pass completition stats look wonderful but I don't give a f-k about that. Plenty of times he could've played in Rashford, Garnacho or Hojlund. Very disappointing that he seems as keen to give the ball to the centre backs as the centre forwards.

We've not done enough to take the game away from West Ham. There needs to be me more oomph to our attacking.

Watching Ward Prowse be good pisses me off ever more knowing what we spent on bailing Chelsea out instead of a sensible straightforward transfer from a relegated side.
Exactly and then buying Onana. Last summer was a shambles. Hopefully those will be a thing of the past.

I mean we had people posting stats before how he was ignored, how little our players create chances for him and how he had to manufacture his first couple of goals in the PL himself but sure, you do you.
