I presume you saw that bit you bolded and jumped to respond without reading the next two sentences? As I said - 'It was only in his last couple of years where it obviously all fell apart'. That 18 months was part of that. Up until that period he was better than his competitors.
Also, even that 18 months is a bit exaggerated. It was only true in the league (he had 2 goals and 2 assists in other competitions), and he had less than 16 matches worth of minutes in that time. He was playing terribly, but it's not like he was playing 90 minutes every game.

He could have been a decent squad/backup player if we had a stronger squad overall. The fact that we didn't just highlighted the fact that he wasn't good enough, and he started more games than someone of his quality should have.

Nah, he was actually a good squad player under Mourinho and maybe in the early days under Ole. He seems to be very immature though and if you're not switched on you won't get anywhere, especially when you were a hardworking squad player with very limited talents. Just misguided. Happens. Shame he didn't try to make it work at West Ham, a huge opportunity lost for him.

To get as many games for United on the wages he was on with his level of talent, I'd argue he's had a fantastic career. Sucks for us though.
I dont think anyone would have realistically said he was korean league level, most of us thought mid-low premier league the most critical said championship but Korean league is whole another low.

During those 5 years, some of his performances were, admittedly, horrendous. But he still contributed to plenty of good ones, even scoring a couple of very important goals at Wembley. He was definitely played too much, though, especially when he was struggling with family issues.
His personalities Marmite. But from what I've heard, he's helped a lot of people in Manchester over the years. So yeah...

He wasn't good enough that he 'should' have been a starter, but for the earlier part of his career he would have been a decent squad player. The problem was that our other options were worse, so he ended up being a starter way more than he should have been. Somehow he gets more hate for that than the players who were worse. It was also an issue that we mostly played him on the right despite him generally looking better when playing through the middle.
It was only towards the end of 18/19 where it really started going wrong for him and then 19/20 he was genuinely atrocious.

He thinks it's a cool move but constant adoring curious attention is not what he might get. 10 years ago maybe, but foreign players are old hat in the K league and there's no exotica level that will get you off scrutiny. Kinsman is getting pelters from all angles for his tactical uselessness and 2 lazy performances in a row will have Lingard looking daft. Plenty of good homegrown players in SK.
The US? By the way SK with their Chaebols are far more oligarchical than most.
