He is now at 10 G/A this season (7+3), on par with Rashford (5+5).

Had a bit of a shocker today but fortunately Rashford and Hojlund were both outstanding. Would have liked to have seen Amad on for the last 10 when it was clear it wasn’t going to be Garnacho’s day and he looked like he needed a rest. Still, he’s still young and up and down performances are to be expected. Great talent.

Mainoo was our best player but the other two forwards covered for Garnacho being a bit out of sorts.

Still have no idea why he didn't shoot after he rounded the keeper... Yeah he was a bit wide and had to wrap his foot around it, but it was on his strong foot, and it was literally an empty night

Yeah really weird. He seemed way too concerned that it would be blocked
He gets shouted at a lot by team mates for being wasteful - I think he was trying a little too hard to do the right thing instead of playing his natural game with confidence.

And to be fair he'd just ran half a pitch off the back of putting in some serious energy all match.

I love him. He's well on track to become a proper legend.

He's a strange kid but you can't help but like him. Not his best performance but if he works hard like that throughout his career he'll go a very long way in the game.

Absolutely love the passion and drive from this kid, but today wasn't a good day.

To be fair, he looks knackered. Some of his turnovers are from either not being fit enough to run it out, or he's just cooked and doesn't concentrate hard enough.
Needs some decent coaching around decision making and composure (yes he's 19, but Bellingham is 20 - as SAF said, if you're good enough you're old enough) there were so many easy passes today that he didn't play.

Problem is most of our players bar Mainoo lack composure.
Bruno gives the ball away endlessly in stupid positions, so Garnacho can't learn from him.

He is the future no doubt. But needs a calm voice in his ear.

Really love this kid. He didn't have a good game, but he worked his socks off. He has the same hard working attitude as Hojlund. Hopefully some of this attitude rubs off Rashford too.

Largely wasteful but his desire to run and run and run is what I expect of a Manchester United player as a bare minimum. Let's stop acting like players running hard is a luxury because we see half of the "experienced" players put half a shift in most weeks.

One thing stopping him from becoming an elite winger at the minute… his decision making. The coaches must work on this with him. World class wingers have good decision making… obviously he’s only 19 and this will come with time and age. He has potential to hit double digit numbers every season.

He's a player that even on a bad day can be very dangerous, works hard and helps the team. Very goo traits to have.

Makes things happen. He's going to have a brilliant career.

Wow, don't disrespect Young like that. People forget Young was a pretty decent player and a model pro.
He was also a player that took a lot of stick from our fan base just like certain players do. Was decent in his younger days but to say Garnacho could become better than him is an insult to Garnacho. Doesn’t really set the bar high.

What an engine this kid has. He ran his heart out. Hold onto him tight.

He's been such a breath of fresh air this season. I know he should've killed off the game yesterday, but he's 19 and bound to make bad decisions and be inconsistent. But he has an engine on him, and a proper mindset, paired with a load of ability and seemingly striking up a good partnership with Rasmus.

Very well said.
The thing I like is that he doesn't hide even after missing a chance and always offers himself for a pass. Significantly better and more hardworking than Antony and even Rashford.

He's been a bit up and down in recent weeks but his effort and constant running is such a vital outlet for us at present.

Think its been a solid season from him this year, having started somewhat slow.

Every time im annoyed by his decision making I remind myself that he is 19. And that unlike Rashford, he has taken that ring wing and just continued to do his thing. Saving us from seeing Antony every match.

So what's the consensus? Does his long term future lay on the right or after temporarily accommodating Rashford he'd be back on left?

I think he looks better on the right, but he'll probably end up switching and swapping where needs must for the team.

The good thing is he actually looks fine playing both sides.

He's fine playing both sides, and currently is better on the right as it naturally makes him more of a creative threat since he doesn't have the temptation of always cutting on to his stronger foot and shooting. Long term it will just depend on how he develops his game. I'd prefer him to stay on the RW, especially if he continues to improve his left foot, as it's much more difficult to find good RW's whereas there are countless inverted LW prospects that pop up every year.

Great effort but he shouldn't be starting for us atm if we had any aspirations.

His end product was lacking today but he was the best of a bad bunch. When you're pinning all your hopes for a goal on a 19 year old then that says it all really.

I really don't like him as much on the left wing. Has a big tendency to put his head down and dribble, cut inside and shoot.

To be fair, there wasn't a lot else going on around him. He had no support from his fullback or any other type of overlapping run from a midfielder, and his options in the box were Rashford who has not physicality and generally poor at making runs in the box. I would say hiim going 1v1 and having a shot was our best chance of anything happening down that side. Now why our manager set things up that way to begin with is another story all together.

I think he looked exceedingly leggy tonight, with little of the explosiveness we have seen recently. Also pretty certain he is a much better player on the right. Asking too much of him to make all these ball carrying sprints, don't think it is sustainable in multi match weeks.
