If it’s Inevitable that he ends up at Real then so be it. Just be smart enough to get a bomb for him and actually reinvest properly this time.

Still sickens me what we did with that Ronaldo money. Criminal.

When fit he is fast but Mendy being fairly unprofessional, he was often not in the best shape. The same applies to his stamina.

That makes sense. I just remembered him being a powerful runner with marauding runs and a crazy strong left foot with the way he used to whip in crosses.

Aston Villa 1:2 Man Utd
Definitely coming on leaps and bounds as an athlete this season. More of a man than boy and it's aiding his game tremendously.

The few times he went into overdrive to glide past Villa's players were beautiful.

Same thing I've said many times before. Elite mentality and athleticism but always balances towards the edge of over indulgence to get his own (shots/goals) than looking to set up his teammates.

Love that he's here with us and a great talent but so infuriating ffs!

His dribbling is outstanding - just needs to work on his balance, a few times this season he's gone through on goal and fallen down.

Needs to be a little smarter when under pressure in possession in our half but works tirelessly and always a spark.

Technically excellent today. Just wish he had a good final pass / delivery on him. Could be wracking up so many asides but seems to only want to shoot. The one time he played a good ball, Bruno skied it which was great.

Good game today ran his socks off as usual and always open for the ball,a few runs didn't come off but he nearly broke into box and when it all clicks for him will be one of our most dangerous players.

I think that will happen less as he gets fitter and stronger with age. Those moments usually involve his legs giving way after a lung busting run.

He seems fit and strong enough to glide past players - it's more of a composure thing for me, he seems to get overexcited sometimes when he's through on goal.

Didn't end with a goal or assist today, but I thought that was one of his better performances this season. Very good decision making, technically seemed a little more polished. Very encouraged with that.

Had a good game and his work rate was excellent. There were times when he got himself into excellent shooting positions but the finish wasn't there. He's gonna be unplayable in the future.

He's creating the chances for himself, needs to bulk up a little bit and work on that shooting power. A little stronger and those half chances end up in goals. Needs to work on beating the offside he gets trapped way too often.

Hopefully with more games he gets the balance right on when to shoot and when to pass especially when hoijlund for example is available and in a better position

Think he's been better overall once moved to the right as he can use both feet but given he favours his right it opens the way for him going out wide and setting a player up

It will come with time, there's been some moments of great crossing from him. I can remember a few for McTominay he's done. The other positive is I can see he's trying to look for Hojlund.

To be fair, since Bruno called him out, without actually naming him, for shooting when he should have passed to him or Rasmus about 3 games back - he has totally changed his game from that match on.

Clearly the coaches spoke to him and he listened. Since that game his first instinct has been to pass to someone in a better position than to simply put his head down and shoot.

It's instantly made him a better player.

One of the situations where you can so clearly see the road map towards becoming a top player rather than just the standard hope. You can actually pinpoint it with him and see the outline of the 3 years from now version and exactly what needs to tweak to get him there.

Agreed. Do you think he becomes a better player than Martineli?

I do, primarily because he himself seems so determined to be. It’s been clear from early to me that Garnacho is one of the most driven young players I’ve ever seen. He’s not the most gifted teenage forward I’ve seen, but his will and desire to be great is tangible, and he has enough talent that I suspect that will take him a long way. He’s not content to just be a pro, nor just to be a United player. He’s got a rare mentality where I think he doesn’t stop until he becomes number one.

Think the youth of today would say "he's got that dawg in him"

What a talent to have on our books. He’s getting better and better, his defensive output was outstanding also

Indeed they would! But I’d go a step further with Garnacho. I think Martinelli has that dawg in him. Garna’s is different to me. We’re talking a Cristiano like drive from what I’ve seen before, super elite determination. I always thought he was good but not special as far as young talents, but he’s one of the kids I’ve been most sure about for a while I’d say, injury permitting of course.

In due course he will out an end to this joke of Mason Mount being our #7 I imagine.

The only thing stopping Garnacho being world class right now is time

We just need a little patience

He's already very good and he's going to become absolute quality

100% this.

He's a young player so you have to take the good with the bad but that was definitely bad.

Same thing as I said last time but even worse with his selfishness, tunnel vision and poor technique.

He's young and improving but feck me, my blood pressure goes up with every decision making.

Don't think he made one good decision today, awful all around and bad defensively.

Also, players like him need more rotation at this age.

The kid did a lot of hard work there...a lot. Missed few clear chances. But was always available to receive the pass. Stayed there till end. I liked it.

Consistently inconsistent. Which is usual for a young player but can clearly see his potential!

A bit wasteful today but still worked his socks off. As others mentioned we shouldn't expect consistency at this age.

He was a huge threat, and is basically the key to the counter attack that is causing so much havoc recently, night and day to slug Antony as a right sided player, direct, penetrative, unrelenting, but also erratic with his decisions.
