Really pleased for him but he still looks so clumsy trying to go past a man from a standing start. Got a few big goals now so he’s repaid a bit of the fee and wages.

Chuffed for him. Man’s been memed. He may be an awful signing when his transfer fee is mentioned, but as I’ll always say, the price isn’t his fault.

He always tries and today it finally came good for him.

Deserves credit.
Absolutely. Ridiculous money but it wasn’t his fault though. He is one of the few players we have who can keep the ball. But his one-footedness is such a big handicap that I think he will never be a regular starter at a top 4 PL club.

Full credit to him for today though. Showed immense desire and got into threatening positions consistently. He must have been a nightmare to defend against today. And the shot he took on his weaker foot was perfect. One of those days when it clicked for him.

Let's not rewrite history just because we won today. Antony has been a terrible signing on the whole. Even when ignoring the price.

If he turns it around then that'd be great for us, but it'll take more than one goal in God knows how many months

One thing nobody can ever deny about him is that he’s definitely a fighter. So happy for him today on a personal level, stood up to be counted.
This is why it’s so weird so many posters seem to enjoy slating him. He’s not worth close to what we paid for him (that’s on the club) but he works his arse off whenever he plays and has popped up now with a couple of important goals in knock out games.

Well done, Antony.

I've been his harshest critic but cannot fault him today, and what a substitute by EtH.

Really good and happy with him today. Defensive workrate aside, which he’s always had, he improved by using his right foot, and also looking up and passing more, instead of cutting in and shooting each time. Great cameo from him

I like Antony. He's had a nightmare season but you can't fault his effort or his passion.

I also think as a squad player, he's not a bad option to have on the bench.

A good spirited display.

I think he will try his best to comeback and improve. We're not a well oiled machine so he will have to dig very deep to produce, he's always had the fight in him.

Got to give it to him. He did pretty well when he came on and scored a crucial goal.

It was also interesting to see him as a left back which was suggested on here a while back.

Super finish for his goal and performed well overall.

Still not changed my mind on him.

Well done, Antony. He really is quite quick in the first few yards. Hope he uses this match and performance as a catalyst to get going.

couple of lovely right footed moments today. Hope he's been adding that to his game.

Looking over my shoulder.
He’s actually very quick on the first ten yards - I read somewhere fastest in the squad. However, he always has a poor touch or stumbles when accelerating past someone, which forces him to stop. It’s very strange.

Good game today!

He also took a near post low driven shot which was only a foot or so wide rather than the overly predictable curler to the far post which should help at least stop keepers from cheating on his shots. If he can just put in 1-2 balls with his right foot he may be in business.

The transfer fee isn't his fault, but he's a winger who's incapable of beating his defender 1v1 almost every single time.

His ball retention and ball-striking are probably the only two things he's good at.

He will never "come good" in the eyes of most fans, because he's never been and never will be the type of winger they were expecting him to be. If we become an elite side in the next few years, Antony's peak level will only be good enough to sometimes make the bench, and that's it.

Having said all that, he played well today.

Without going too deep in any which way of opinion - ultimately I really like him. Quite clearly gives a feck, which should obviously be a prerequisite - but hey hum, it isn't and he does and I like that. His low centre of gravity and tenacity is something that is neigh on impossible to teach.

Best game ofbteh season for him today. I hope it injects some confidence cause we really need options up front. Credit where due I believe.

We’ve had false hope of him before. He seems to have little decent cameos. He’s good to bring on for his energy and tracking back and he can also hold the ball up.

That was some finish today. Hopefully, this gets his spirits up.it was so funny seeing him and Amad running one next to each other, and none of them passing it to each other.

We all love United
Big game player. He probably won’t score another goal like this with his right foot again but give him the next season. It feels something in him will eventually click
