As a United fan what makes it hard for us is that we have played all our games against Spurs and Villa, so relying on other teams to help us, we need to help ourselves as well.
It's a gentle reminder of how poor we've been this year, that we're 6th, well off both of these. And every chance further apart after the next 3.

Im not so sure. Especially with another potential deduction on the horizon. It's hard to see where we next win.
Think that is the only problem you have, big problem, but footballing wise think they will escape again. Although you go to a boosted Newcastle midweek.

Useless Luton.

I still think Spurs and Villa will both drop plenty of points though, it’s just whether we can keep up.

Not a good start to the weekend. Still, If Villa drop points it will improve.

It says it all that we've beaten VIlla twice and are still 9 (basically 10) behind them. Too late to catch them now.

Losing at home to Fulham was a killer. Obviously first half of the season was the reason why we are in this position, but that Fulham game right before city was a mess. 3 points there and we would have a lot of pressure on those two teams above us

Right now we're six of but let's say seven given the GD

God I can't stand Spurs and their late fecking wins. Just want us to make up ground on them and Villa to put them under some pressure.

I like Emery, I’d have him as comfortably the best manager in the league behind the big three, but I still expect Villa to ultimately bottle it

Villa are without Cash and that goblin in midfield. Feck it, I'm getting my hopes up!

I think Spurs will lose to West Ham. I don't see Villa dropping many points though. Whether Spurs will drop enough for us to finish above them, I'm not so sure.

Cash was dropped after a few poor performances in November iirc, but I think he forced himself back into the team a few weeks later.

Is this Villa v Wolves match a meaningful derby or do the two sets of fans not care? I gather Wolverhampton isn't far from Brum.

Assumnig Villa win later....

Midweek is huge.

Villa at City, Spurs at West Ham. If they both win those we wont get 5th
Even if they both lose we won’t make 5th anyway.

Our remaining fixture is a tiny bit better on paper but we aren’t consistent enough to get 7 more points than them.

United had no business losing that match, an utter embarrassing performance. I figured that result immediately killed any chance of top four/five and CL qualification. Would require a total meltdown by Spurs and/or Villa while maximizing United's efforts over the remaining fixtures which we know this side can't pull off.

Okay so 12 and 9 points behind those two CL spots, we really need to do a run in similar to lfc last season
