Some would say he needs a better team and coaching. Well that isn't at United.
Maybe he does need better coaching and do think he will improve. I just hope we aren't the ones to throw stupid money at him, there are better cheaper options elsewhere.

Are Chelsea playing better football than us?
They will finish above us at this rate.

Yeah, this table is going to start looking even worse for us if we don't get some wins of our own soon.

Newcastle and West Ham were already big rivals for the 6th and 7th positions - now Chelsea right in contention as well (which is particularly annoying after those two very late goals from a soft pen and a deflection - we'd at least be well clear of them but for those).

Finishing outside the PL spots is a bad enough effort. Finishing outside even the EL and Conference League spots would be abysmal. :(
It's exactly what we deserve. We've been performing like a bottom half side but getting lucky with results all season. Chelsea the opposite.

Branthwaite is better than he’s showing tonight but I wouldn’t be paying anything like 60-70m for him and Everton won’t sell for less.

Onana would be massively overpriced as well, surely you can find someone similar for significantly cheaper in Ligue 1.

Never understand how a professional footballer paid thousands can’t just stay onside? Stay level with a defender in front of you, is it so hard? Or keep your arm on one behind you
Some do seem oblivious at times. But with others I think it's about pushing the line to the limit - looking to play on the shoulder of the last defender, etc - to gain that extra advantage.

Similar to how fast bowlers stray so close to bowling no balls so often - and often do - as they're trying to get as close to the line as possible without fully going over. They could stay onside / not bowl no balls if that was the only aim, but they're often looking to push it to the limit in order to gain an advantage that could make the difference if they get it right.

Didn’t realise he wanted to go
Yeah. Pretty sure he pleaded with Gundogan to stay an extra year, too.

I think with Palmer, Pep didn't want to get in the way of his development, and so it was a mutual agreement to let him go. Preferably, Pep would have liked to loan him, but Palmer didn't agree to it.

Even prior to this game, I never quite understood the hype surrounding him.
I think there is talent there, but not for the stupid money mentioned. I said in his thread I'd take the chance if it was £45/50m, but watching him recently I wouldn't do it.

Man City made a massive mistake by letting Palmer go, especially knowing that Mahrez was on his way out. They could've really used him right now.
He wanted to go, they wanted him to stay

And they don't stand in the player's way. May sting a bit with Palmer but overall it's a good policy

He asked to leave City. Pep couldn't promise him a starting spot. It was obvious he's an exceptional talent.

We're going to finish 8th at this rate.

Chelsea unbeaten in league since February 4th. I know it doesn't mean much as they have had many draws since, but think it's all going in direction of them keeping Pochettino as their manager. There aren't many options out there anyway and Boehly won't go for Tuchel after sacking him back in 2022.

Agree. Get them cheaper and develop them before they come to the PL and eventually their prices get inflated.

The opposite actually - Palmer wanted to leave on loan and Pep said no, if he leaves it will be permanent. Thank you Pep.

Be nice to see one or two of the kids in the bench get some minutes if we don't concede in the first 20 mins of this half.
Unless my live score is wrong we seem to only have 7 substitutes on the bench. I don't know if it's wrong or if we actually have that many injuries.

Palmer and Gordon should both absolutely be in the Euro squad….at rashfords expense.

And if so…deservedly so…for all parties
