Had £150m on the table last summer. He’s not as good but is still elite. Reckon they can get close that number.
From who? You need at least have a market for him.

The league has signed exactly one player for more than £50m. Neymar. They pay outrageous salaries, but not transfer fees.

Can’t see him going for a large fee. Liverpool fans are delusional. Also can’t see him wanting to play there.

You can't see the world's most famous muslim player who is turning 32 in the summer, with 1 year left on his deal, wanting to play in Saudi for probably 1million a week?
Let's just hope no Saudi team puts up Coutinho esque money.

Not really. I don’t think he gives a damn about money. PSG would probably pay him £500k a week and he still plays CL football for another 2-3 years.

Why were there really strong rumours of a move around the Jan window then? With the perception being that it was the Saudi's coming up with their plan too late in the window for Liverpool to react scuppering it?

Plus it's well documented Salah pushed hard for that huge deal he signed a few years ago. Paul Scholes he is not.

Its ludicrus to claim that a Saudi Pro League club will pay or was willing to pay £150m for Salah when that league's transfer record is the 77m that was paid for Neymar Jnr.

Also isnt it a bit hypocritical for Liverpool fans to want the Saudi's to pay all that money and pretty much fund their rebuild when they constantly complain about City and Newcastle being funded by Arab Oil Money?

It’s a dogshit league of zero note. He’s still a world class player that has another two years or so at his peak. Maybe he wants the extra cash. I doubt he’d sell the end of his career to play League 1 level football.

I’ll be really surprised if he goes there but little point in us trying to convince each other further.

Honestly don’t know where this ‘Salah for £100m will fund the rebuild’.

I’d be surprised if he goes for more than £50m.
It'll be a total bail out for them if they get that money. I can see it happening if it was an oil club but not Liverpool.

I hope you're right and he has another fading year showing the form he has the last 3months next year, then disappears for free somewhere then.
Worst case is they sell him for outrageous money and can fund a well thought out spree again.

It's almost like people think transfer fees go up in time or something isn't it.

They're quite positive about Slot

Good posts from prof and John C.

Unless he turns into Hodgson I don’t think anyone should be sharpening their knives for at least a couple of years

He seems to have the kind of style and tactical nous that should fit our current squad and it will be clear to him how he’ll fit within the player recruitment structure so that shouldn’t present any problem.

The biggest thing for me is whether he has the gravitas for want of a better word to lead the bigger names and get them to believe in him and his way, which will ensure the players stick together in the hard times.

I’m quite excited to see what a fresh approach might bring
Really liked everything I've seen and heard about him over the past couple of days.

Now that it's pretty much done, I'm excited to see what he'll bring to the club and how he'll put his stamp on things.

Hopefully he does well, don’t get why people would be excited, think he’s more a ‘wait and see how he does’ appointment. Particularly with the changes to the team that will be happening. The last of our great title winning team will be bowing out over the next two years in Mo, Virgil and Robertson. Trent, if he stays, will be the only outfield regular from that period. Will be a period of massive change so maybe unfair to expect Slot to have us challenging.
He's going to headbutt Ten Hag next season. ;D

I think there's this perception that Salah would be more open to it than most top players with maybe a year or two left in the tank because he's a Muslim and because he comes from a nearby country compared to the others who are travelling halfway around the world into a completely alien culture. Whatever you make of that. I'd imagine the enormous salary they'd give him would be a bigger draw. I sure hope Pool don't sell him, I'd rather see him wane there than them get another Coutinho bailout of £100m or so to buy a load of new players while they still have the CL draw.

I wasn’t aware Klopp considering a career in stand up comedy when he’s finished with Liverpool but with one liners like Liverpool being the best club in the world he has ever chance of making it in the business.

I can't believe this is how it's ending for Klopp. Now, we'll have all this Salah shite in the media. Can this season just end and give Jurgen his well-deserved break?
Because u know what Klopp told him right?
what does it matter? To behave like that, arguing with his boss, waving his arms around like a petulant little child? Pathetic behaviour.

It's funny that Antonio equalised. He trash talked Liverpool on his podcast saying he wanted Arsenal or City to win over them. I can't link media but the clip is on Twitter.

We are in tatters.
That with the manc ref and West Ham’s keeper was fecking suspicious to say the least.
BBC feed didn't even mention it, so I guess the answer is to pretend it never happened and gaslight anyone associated with LFC that complains
Taylor tells the keeper to ‘go down’ I’ve never seen that before in my life.

All because he knew he just stopped a clear goal and has to cover it up with a pretend injury.

Klopp is too tired to make anything of it, the league is gone anyway, but these refs have done it all year and I’m honestly losing the will to watch.

The club never speak out anyway so what’s the point.

On Salah

That's it for him here now. Been shit since January and with that little tantrum on the sideline I couldn't give a feck if he ever plays for us again.
Had no interest in helping us win the league this season. Egypt was more important. I dont know why we turned down that Saudi offer .

that burst he made up the middle of the pitch. where did that come from? where was it these past few weeks. You'd be hard pushed to find another instance of the main man not bothering to show up in a title race. extremely disappointing
I think he’s done here, his ego is writing cheques his body can’t cash. His levels have dropped massively and his attitude is unacceptable. Throwing another tantrum at full time was too much.
What's disrespectful is gobbing off at your manager on the sideline in full view of TV cameras.

By the way he had one run after he came on and fecked up a pretty straightforward pass. Not sure that was 'fecking good' but maybe the standards are lower at the moment.
You dont even know if he was in the wrong.
I don't give a feck if he was, handle it better than that.
Get him fecking gone. Stinking the gaff out in every way possible now. Been a fecking ghost for months on end and has the audacity to act like that on the sideline.
Grow up. Seriously some of you are embarrassing yourselves here.
Im Mo's defence, looks like Jurgen initiated that "discussion".

That one about “the club never speak out”

 Delusional feckers, Liverpool spend more time moaning about how hard done they are than they do playing football.

Seeing "Liverpool's title hopes in tatters" twice in a week as a skysports headline... beautiful. It's already been a great day.

It's hilarious how quickly they mention anything Manc related in their little meltdowns

Nah this is on you sorry RAWK. Your team's just not very good at all.
