Really pleased for Ipswich. Back to back promotions, competing with 3 parachute payment clubs and also yoyo clubs like Norwich and WBA.

Also Eustace relegating Birmingham is hilarious and the type of karma we all love to see.

Only downside of the season is I'm not fussed about any of the teams in the playoffs. They've all been up in recent years so it's a bit meh

Norwich would end up on 10 points. Completely pointless them coming up again. Was watching their game for obvious reasons and Jay Stansfield goes to press Shane Duffy and he just boots the ball out of play so that's their level and it certainly isn't better than the last time they were up.

I think of all of them Southampton would be most interesting in style. I think last time their young players weren't ready for prem football but I presume a few of them must have improved since?

Leeds only one of the four who'd have a decent chance of staying up and they'd need 3-4 good signings in key positions still.

Coventry coming up would've been a really interesting promotion I think but cup run stalled them in the league at crucial time and Norwich got in ahead.

Excellent for Ipswich. Like Luton, It's always good seeing a team that struggled for so long get this kind of reward.

Really don't care which one of the play off teams gets promoted. Much of the same, they'll come up and go back down within a year or two.

I get what you're saying, they deserved it the way they got rid of Eustace, but after Rooney's disaster spell, it was Tony Mowbray/Gary Rowett that took them down.

Championship is brutal if you cannot get out within two years with the extra payments. Really glad to see you return to the PL.

Out of the play-off teams I want Soton to do it. WBA and Norwich will just be cannon fodder with no fight and feck Leeds.

Well done to Ipswich. Just 6 defeats in 46 games sounds impressive. Just looked at previous seasons and only Burnley had less (3 losses last season) since 2015/16 season.

Middlesbrough finishing the season in 8th with 69 points, 4 less than last team going to playoffs. Good enough season for Carrick or regression on last year? Think there was talk his team was overachieving last season in finishing 4th.

It's been around for about 15 years. They introduced it due to the play off winner always getting a trophy so bit harsh on a team finishing higher and performing same achievement misses out.

Boro lost too many goals from last season with Cameron Archer leaving and Akpom going to Ajax. Took a while for the new strikers to settle in.

They'll be in the top 6 at least next season you suspect.

Carrick just lost all of his best players and they did not get any good replacements for them. So the fact that he was only 4 points off a play off spot is not bad at all.

Oh I see, thanks guys. So basically another solid season for him. Nice to see Carrick and McKenna doing well, hopefully they turn out to be quality managers and come back to United one day. I certainly liked watching us play under Carrick even if it was only for 3 games or so. Guess it was mostly that immediate good feeling factor after previous manager Ole getting sacked.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if that was the final. Still think Leeds should have enough quality to beat Norwich over two legs, but it could prove too difficult for them to change the momentum. The two games they’ve played against each other this season were tight games, although Leeds did end up winning them both.

Good to see Ipswich back in the Premier League. They're one of the clubs I've been waiting to see get promoted to PL for a long time and I'd want some other PL clubs from early to mid 2000s back too. The likes of Charlton, Bolton, Portsmouth etc.

If Brum were relying on us its their own dumb fault really, we've made no secret of celebrating.

They beat Ipswich home and away, and Leicester too. Their record against the average to poor teams must be pretty awful (for a 90 point team) in that case.
Maybe they’ll pull a performance out of the hat then.

Yeah, exactly as I see it too. I think it really helped us in the run-in that Leeds genuinely thought they were a significantly superior team and that we’d inevitably slip up and they wouldn’t. And when they started losing games that expectation suddenly turned into the kind of pressure that Ipswich have not really had.

They’ve a good front line though, I’ll give them that. Too good for the Championship probably, but you need more than that to go up.

Just had a look at the form table and in the last 6 games Leeds are 22nd. Talk about bottle jobs.

I agree on Norwich V Southampton final with Southampton going up. Would like to see them back too, they were generally good value in the prem over the last decade.

He started in Redbull youth and then mainly as video analyst. Hasenhüttl made him his assistant and he left RB with him to Southampton but only stayed half a year and then went to Bayern. After that he stayed with Flick until his end with the German national team - and a month later the job with Sheffield started.

After reading an interview he recently gave to kicker it worked with work against the ball like the redbull teams, in possession like Bayern and he tries to lead the team like Hansi Flick would who still is his big mentor and advisor...

A big relief that we stayed up, but it is not an achievement and not something we should celebrate. We should have secured a steady mid-table finish, and never should have allowed ourselves to get dragged into a relegation battle, failing to even mathematically secure survival going into the final day, in the first place.

Sammie Szmodics scoring 27 league goals and finishing as the top scorer, in such a struggling, under-performing team, reflects well on him. Clearly he’s going in the summer, and I wish him well.

It is quite funny though that when we were in a disastrous run of form, we still went to Elland Road, won and heavily damaged their automatic promotion bid.

I’m delighted for Ipswich. Given that the gulf between the Championship and League One has widened considerably in modern times, back to back promotions is incredible. And I’m also happy that Sheffield Wednesday stayed up while Birmingham were relegated.

Birmingham are lucky they went down this year and not in the other times they nearly got relegated/had to get something on the last day. I say this as in the past two years - Plymouth, Ipswich, Sheffield Weds, Portsmouth and Derby - plus Bolton most likely - have promoted themselves out of the league. League One is probably at its weakest for years.
