Throwing pts against Arsenal?

If we just try our best, we'll lose naturally.

If we try to throw the game by trying crazy passes or aiming outside their goal when one on one or something, we'll probably end up accidentally scoring.

The four in a row thing is a detestable thought, but one of those was won behind closed doors and deserves a big fat asterisk.

Barely counts as a real season if no fans were there to see it in the flesh.

We have never thrown away points just for the sake of denying a specific team a title in a title race. We are not Liverpool from the spring of 2010, when they gave Chelsea a freebie at Anfield just to deny us another title.

Arsenal will have to earn those points, just like anyone else.

There should be asterisks against all their trophy 'wins'.

Been arguing this on here for yonks mate. It's the lads who don't have City fam/mates/colleagues. Definetly a geography divide on this one.
As fake and plastic as the Berties now are, and all their achievements are "tainted", I don't want to see them win anything, especially not 4 in a row.

If Arsenal can beat them to the league then great. I don't care how insufferable their fans might be.

I don't want to see 115 Charges FC win anything, ever!

Some people need to give their head a wobble

I’d be very surprised if Arsenal don’t beat us regardless
We're 2 injuries away from the tea lady being slotted into the CB role so yeah they will steam roll us or at least that's what I expect but then again it is Arsenal. They're serial bottlers.

Ten Hags United can barely win even when it's trying. So we don't need to throw a game, just play the stupid way we've been playing sll season and Arsenal shouldn't have too much problems.

I want to take points off Arsenal. Hate them lot, still sour over the game earlier in season.
Arsenal are well capable of giving us a hiding but I think it's still a tough game for them if we turn up.

It's not going to matter. City won't be dropping any more points.

The fact that some of you would find it acceptable that United, or any other team for that matter, should throw a game is just so pathetic I can't find the words to decribe it in ways that wouldn't get be banned

Nope.

I know quite a lot on here would prefer City to win the title over Arsenal anyway. That's not me, never really understood that, and I would prefer Arsenal to win it. I just don't quite hate City enough for that, and there's a big chance we'll lose to Arsenal giving 100% anyway. It's optimistic/flattering ourselves to ask the question in a way!

If it was to stop Liverpool I might have to think about.

Stopping the 4 in a row.

If we draw or win it's curtain for Arsenal and we handed them 4 in a row for nothing to play.

Assuming City win at Fulham on Saturday, Arsenal will be starting against Utd, already 2 points behind the Bertie’s.
The pressure will be on Arsenal to win, because as has already been said a few times, a loss or draw means curtains for their season.
They only have one game left after Utd at OT and City will have two games left (Spurs away and WHU at home on the final day).

Whether we let them win, or they beat us fair and square, they’ll still be relying on City drawing or losing one of those last two games.
Always possible, but it looks unlikely from here.
A Utd victory only brings forward City being declared champions for the 4th season in a row.
It’s down to what City do and not what Utd can do against Arsenal.
We’re just a bit part player in this.
A walk on part with a one word line to say.

Yet the players are playing idgaf football getting trumped 7-0 against our biggest rival
What does that have to do with anything? A "supporter" who wants them to lose a game to favor another club is not a supporter

As much as I can't stand the thought of City winning another, the thought of us ending both Liverpool and Arsenal's seasons is probably about as much relevance as we can hope for.

City don't mean much to me except they're in the same city! When I was growing up city were nowhere midtable finishes in div 1.
Arsenal are my rivals. All the other kids at school supported arsenal and then Wenger Vs fergie started.

Hate them, and Arteta makes them more deplorable

Hasn't there been a few similar threads to this over the years, about us throwing games to stop some other club winning something?

I fecking hate how crap and small time we've become.

Unless the FA cup final throws up a miracle, the literal highlight of our season is derailing Liverpool's season.

Small time thinking. It’s more important what Man Utd do in one game than what Man City do in five seasons.

Besides, it won’t matter when the PL charges are effectuated.

That would actually count as a great season highlight in any of my first fifteen years as a United fan.
But this is not an all conquering Liverpool team, which makes it much more small time. Despite the caf paranoia about Klopp's farewell heading towards a mini quadruple, they weren't favourites for the title or the FA cup as long as City were around.

Arsenal winning the league would be the starkest reminder of how far we have fallen. They had a plan, they had good transfers, got in a manager with good ideas who they stuck with. They turned it around in a short time because of this - no 'oil money' excuses for us.

I can't remember why I joined this war.
Honestly, in the form we are in I can't see us picking up any points for the last 3 games. Arsenal and Newcastle will surely beat us and Brighton might have been knocked down a peck by now but the way we played tonight Brighton will easily mop the floor with that lot.

It would be nice if we were even at the level where we could throw points against Arsenal - the sad reality is we don't really have a choice - its an inevitable leathering.
