No worries
We’ve also been linked to Wolfsburg striker Ewa Pajor, who has a release clause of €500k. It would be one hell of a signing if it did happen

That would be something. CL top scorer last year, BuLi player if the year, nominated as one of ten for world player of the year. Still only 27

Both Grosso and Pajor would certainly be statement signings from INEOS. Are these sources in any way reliable?

I find it hard to believe that proven top players would sign for a club with no CL football - unless it was a really good sales pitch from United.

Could this be a hint that we're looking to make a statement appointment in the managers position? We may be able to convince players with a combination of competitive salaries and an exciting project.

Meanwhile we've got reports today that Irene Guerrero is likely to leave - no surprise there. We've apparently made no move to sign Malard who was here on loan. Garcia is also likely to leave, her contract runs out next month.

It's also suggested that Hayley Ladd may be looking for a player/coach role somewhere. She's just completed her UEFA A licence and will probably be looking at starting the qualification process for UEFA Pro. She's under contract until 2025 but I doubt United would try and stop her if she finds the right opportunity somewhere.

I’ll miss Garcia if she leaves. Always gives her all.

Here we go.

So we sell somebody who could be a really good player for us, so Skinner will then sign more players who he actually will barely play in the team anyway. The people up high should be looking into the money he is wasting on players.

Started wondering whether it would be a good idea to loan out some of the players who have missed the whole season to a league that runs throughout the summer period.

George, Watson & co. will probably just become match fit when our season ends. Seems a bit of a waste to just train for the summer when match sharpness is literally the only thing they need.

ACL injury rehab is tough though - it's very easy for a player to get reinjured almost instantly on returning to competitive football. So wherever they train/play needs to be handling them with care.

If anything my worry with Watson is that she'll get called up to a U21 or a Scotland squad and she'll be too eager to play.

I agree with you in general terms though. It would be nice if they came out of the summer in match mode, not rehab mode.

You’re right. Still being able to play say from middle of May and getting the first minutes in mid July doesn’t sound ideal either.

Damn, I mean fair play for sticking around but looks like a lot of our bigger names could be off this summer? Parris and Earps potentially going, anyone else?
Garcia is expected to go - her contract runs out at the end of May. Geyse may go too. Whether we'll see Irene Guerrero leave is anyone's guess. It doesn't sound like a deal for Melvine Malard has been done. I also wonder if Hayley Ladd is looking for a player/coach role somewhere - I suspect that might depend on what opportunities are out there. Plus, the usual flux of young players leaving our going on loan I guess.

Rumours on the incoming side aren't nearly so strong. We wait and see.

She signed a new contract in December, can’t see her leaving this summer.

Bloody hell, sounds like it might be a bad summer. If that is the case, with many of the better players leaving and not much incoming, how long before Toone and so on look to go?

I don't think she'd move just to play elsewhere, but I do think she's at that moment in her career where she might be ready for that kind of change.

I hope not because I do think on the right formation she gives us a defensive resilience that we often lack without her.

It's more or less the opposite of the men's team in that respect. We're losing valuable players and we're losing them to rivals (and teams that we hope will become our rivals). We have no problem moving players on - unfortunately we're moving on some really talented high performers.

We can keep recruiting but we're not in a position to recruit from the top shelf (not just a money thing - also a prestige/trophy chances thing). We're trying to recruit the young and promising and players looking for a fresh start after injury or after losing a starting place at a top team.

Sometimes the recruitment works but at best we're standing still. That's before I get on to the question of whether we'll even see the new recruits play.

It’s time we start going toe to toe with teams for players and show that we’re serious. Whatever other clubs are offering players we need to be atleast matching it. Why not? Why should we constantly be selling our best players or running their contracts down, we won’t win the big big trophies if this keeps happening. It’s a lack of ambition really. The name and the badge will entice players in my opinion, it seems when they get here the reality is different, which is why we lose top players to clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Barca. Give them the best package and build something truely competitive. Players like the idea of making history too!

Also, with miedema now available, we should be throwing everything at her to get her here. City favourites, who already have shaw. We could really do with an elite striker like this.

Just popped up on my screen that the emirates is going to be arsenal women’s home ground from next season. Now that’s ambition and innovation. United need to start adding levels to this women’s team. Even city have their own stadium.

And Batlle.
Yes, it isn’t a good look. Batlle is somewhat understandably given she’s Catalan and going ‘home’ to what is incidentally also one of the two best sides in the world.

But if we can’t/won’t keep English National Team players from leaving for other English clubs at the peak of their carreers or even before, it’s just a show of resignation. We’re not showing up for the fight.

Based on Skinners quotes post-final about Clinton I don't think we'll let her go. It would have to be a very good offer to tempt United, I think.

Could get down to what the player wants. She might not see a pathway based on how little Skinner changes his lineups. A year left on her contract.

True, it's Skinner after all. I don't know how serious he was with those quotes, but he seemed to see her as a big part of his plans going forward. But he is weird. Signed a world champion just to not use her at all, amongst other things.
