There is no club in the world that stirs the emotions like Manchester United.

A club formed from humble beginnings has risen, through the tragedy of Munich, the glory of 1968 and on to the ultimate achievement of the incomparable Treble, to its current position as the world’s greatest football club.

The United story has been told before - but never with such passion, such depth, such stunning imagery, and certainly never on such an extraordinary scale.

Key Facts

• 10,000 Limited Edition

• All signed by Sir Alex Ferguson

• All signed by Sir Bobby Charlton

• Half a metre square

• Over 800 pages

• Published October 2006

• Price £3,000

10,000x3,000?

That's one way to try to make £30,000,000!

Won't work, of course.
If they hurry up we can buy an overrated and overpriced midfielder from France for those money.

it will work.
we will also launch the "get out of debt" book. 10 000 copies, 30 000pounds per book.
Sounds like a plan.

Of course we'll be decried from certain sectors for being so callous and commercial.

Whereas before we were decried for getting into debt.

There's enough celeb "fans" for whom £3K is nothing who'll buy it. They'll probably be auctioned at Christie's in 10 years time for £30K. The content looks pretty good but I don't think the missus would be too happy if I bought one...

This pic's good though:

That thread was about Solskjaer, which veered onto the topic of the book.

This is a proper topic about the book.

This is the real book thread.

So you're just rabbiting on about something silly, Weastie my dear.

Two short planks.

And two short planks from the newbie that doesn't have a clue how to use a forum!

I'm not surprised.

You're acting like a dipshit Weaste.

Presumably we are supposed to read every thread no matter what the title line is just in case a thread entitled "Weaste's Momma Smells Like Cheese" gets into a conversation on 18th century architecture on page 19?

Although the book sounds nice, not very many people can justify £3000, even for a very special occasion.
If they had marketed a £300 book, that was good but not as ridiculous. Many more people would buy them. A lot more people would justify it or get as a gift. Probably make more money that way.

No because it's gonna have cost some money to produce, but no more than £500 me thinks for each copy. So they're making a tidy profit. I there was a free season ticket with it I'd consider it. Oh, and a first team contract.

That would be a good marketing strategy, every copy sold gets a training session with the 1st team squad. Wouldn't eat into profits at all and would entice quite a few people to do it. Throw in a stadium tour and other minor perks and you could do well.

Quietly going about my business.
It's embarassing, and I had a sad mentle image of Fergie and Bobby sat signing them, as if doing lines at school, with Glazer pacing up and down infront of them waving a headmaster's cane in the air.

I can't be arsed to read through the whole thread so this may have been mentioned before but the book number 1 will be auctioned and the money the get inn from that one will go to UNICEF. They excpet to get £250.000 for it and it will be signed by former players as well as new ones.
