We manage to get some decent form in the league. Our rivals drop points. We play the last fixture in this round of games. Against the worst team in the league, who have been diabolical all season. Three points could see us surge up the table.

We all know what’s going to happen. That’s what this team does, under Ole. We’re not going to win. It’s inevitable.

Chelsea losing and City getting only one point vs. West Brom can't mean anything else than us losing to Sheffield United and it's not a jinx.

Don’t forget that Spurs and/or Liverpool have to drop points too.

I hope we are all piling on and calling you a negative cnut on Thursday evening though!

Sheffield are so ridiculously bad I don't think they'll even give us a chance to bottle this.

Yes a few disturbing things about this game
Sheff U haven't won yet
We are on a club record run of away victories
It's now clear that a fair few of our rivals have/will be dropping points

It's got embarrassing defeat written all over it.

I predict we will start well, miss some good chances early on, the concede from a set piece, fall apart for the rest of the half and go in at half time 2-0 down.

Second half we will see lots of passing about between our defenders and lots of over hit long balls from maguire and co and no penetration until we get a soft penalty in the 72nd minute that Bruno scores then play like a team possesed for 10 minutes but miss a host of chances, then spend the last ten minutes playing hoof ball with a random selection of 2 attackers 3 midfielders and 5 defenders on and look utterly hopeless.

Cue a complete meltdown of the caf with arguments about XG/no coaching/tactics P.E teacher, the creditenials of the Norwegian league and an apparently title winning squad and lots of mentions of Poch.

I really hope.this doesn't happen of course, but you can see it coming cant you?

Spurs and Liverpool will both win tomorrow and we'll lose 2-1 on Thursday before we bring in Harry Redknapp on an interim basis.

The fact that 3 points can leap your team up 5 places and 5 teams just shows how early it is in the league. At worst you have to get results if not a full 3 points. Especially with the amount of matches between now and the end of thr calendar year, gotta pick up points and hope you can effectively rotate your squad.

No easy games in the Premier League is actually coming true this season. That said, I'm confident we can pulverize Sheffield United 1-0 with an injury time penalty.

Wouldn't mind some attacking football for once! Last six years have been rough

Dan James hat trick incoming!

I mean we've fecked up a lot of metaphorical open goals in recent years but dropping points to a team who after 12 games have 1 point will be a new low

Christ I can't imagine what this place will be like

Sorry, didn't realize Liverpool and Spurs are playing eachother, it means one of them will probably draw.

Even though you're probably trying reverse psychology on the footballing gods, losing to Sheff U would genuinely be the most United thing imaginable.

What you're thinking will happen.. will happen.

Go behind because of a stupid defensive error and then claw back a draw in the last ten mins. It will then be "A good result due to the fact we were behind for 80 mins"

Someone will get sent off as well, dont something insanely stupid

About the same as it is after a victory is my bet.

We need to win 6-0 against Sheffield United to get into Top 4. Our goal difference, at the moment, sucks!

I like what you did Pogue but my God, this is exactly what we should expect from this utterly mental team when an opportunity presents itself.

I’m only 5% jinxing, 95% making a genuine prediction. Failing to beat SU would be classic Ole given the circumstances. Like I said, it’s inevitable. I honestly mean that.

Sometimes these types of games can be the worst because they will fight for everything.

We succeed when we’re unfancied. We underwhelm when we’re fancied.

Theyll put in the most sturdy low block imaginable which completely stumps an OGS Utd side. Failing that it’ll be Martial getting a start, failing to convert chances and staying on the entire game.

So I hope this team prove me and a lot of other fans who doubt OGS wrong.

Not necessarily. Depending on what West Ham, Everton and Southampton do, 3-0 might be enough. But like a lot of people, I'm starting to dread this game too!

Now we have City out of the way, rest of the games til new year are highly winnable.

Ole’s team are highly capable of going on very decent runs of form; if we can win the next 3 or 4 on the trot it will give us credit in the bank for when the form runs out. I’m hopeful
