We don’t even remember what one looks like do we. The constant excuses and rationalization of our forward play of late leads me believe we have.

Lukaku has largely been piss in front of goal and kills more moves than a junior high chaperone. Rashford isn’t even a center forward. He makes Chicharito look like an all-arounder yet everyone constantly rushes to his defense.

Even Zlatan was only decent yet a couple of my mates and everyone by in large seemed to act as if he was Cantona reincarnated when he was here. Yet he was well and truly Serie A level at best. Was at the top of the chances missed column as I recall.

Falcao had it in him but sadly injuries had taken their toll and he was just off the pace. Lovely bloke though.

The last proper CF we had was RvP. I want yous to think about his level in Sir Alex’s last season and then tell me what the main problem with this team is.

    It’s glaring.

Ibra was good for his age. Wish we got him when he was younger.

Even though he was missing quite a few chances. He was getting in the positions or pushing defenders aside to make space for attempts or winning headers from crosses. That first five months he was there with us we were creating crazy amount of chances. His form tailored off towards the end of the season and he picked up that injury. But he had a presence about him up front something we lacked for a while.

Completely with you on this. Rashford is nowhere near clinical enough and at 21 he shouldn’t really be expected to shoulder the responsibility.

No idea who we should get though.

I actually miss Ibra :(. At least he had a presence about him and was on course for 30-35 goals in his first season but for that injury.

Doubt we are buying a striker for next season as RW seams to be the priority (both should be)

Problem is there's very few actual out and out strikers in the RVP mound out there these days, Real and Barca certainly haven't had one in donkeys. These days it's all about have 30+ goal wide players like Messi, Ronaldo, Salah etc etc

Continue thinking there's a striker out there that can get 25 goals in this current team.

Winning mentality certainly hit a nose dive the minute he left the club. He certainly wouldn't have stood for half the shit the likes of {insert name here} have served up recently

Zlatan wasn't a true number 9. He was an exceptional playmaker and will have made sense playing deeper alongside a strike partner like he did with Adriano, Trezeguet, Robinho/Pato and Cavani . He was too wasteful to play as the focal point but our chances creation is gone completely because no-one has understood Pogba passes like him.

We're dead in the water if we go ahead with Radford as main striker next year. Jovic would be a dream. Just pay and get it done

Id swap lukaku straight up for icardi. We get rod of someone we dont want and so do they. He's scored a goal most games ive seen him, which granted isnt much

If this was the '00s, SAF would have bought Kane by now.

Don't tell Utd. cannot pay higher wages than the Spurs because I won't believe you.

Lukaku, Rashford and Martial had a higher ceiling than Salah and Mane before they signed for Liverpool. We just need a better footballing philosophy and they will produce better returns.

Premier league tv money has changed that. These teams don’t need to sell and then you add in Levy. Fergie would have liked Bale and Modric off Spurs but even he couldn’t be bothered dealing with Levy. Even Chelsea couldn’t get Modric even though Modric wanted to join them.

City won’t be able to get Kane too despite having infinity money.

I believe only Messi/Ronaldo type player could do that, and even that may be an ask

It goes beyond just buying a good striker. Agüero would struggle to get 20 goals in all competitions in this team. Conversely if you put Lukaku in a better side just watch him rack up the goals once again. This team is dump from top to bottom, no single player will turn it all around.

I reckon we need to go one of two ways:

Either we need someone who can hold the ball up and create openings for three or four others around them.

Or a penalty box demon (Icardi type) with a #10 playmaker or support striker behind them, to play through.

Doubt we could do it in just one player.

We need more than one player obviously but yeah I think there’s a handful out there who would.

And what "footballing philosophy" would that be? Lukaku, Rashford, Martial literally none of them are good enough to be the main men for us up front. Harry Kane is type of striker that we used to have up front, pure quality. Now we have the three stooges who constantly miss sitters as if their life depended on it.

At the rate we create chances, no.

I'll give you Messi and Ronaldo but that's it.

Yeah so buy a Silva type player behind him.

We need to restart the attack because our forward line is pathetic. We need two attackers in the summer. Someone who can score and someone who can create.

Lets consider that we are paying higher wages, levy has decided to sell him to us.

But why would he join us now? No CL, no direction, no cheese room. I mean Spurs are much better than us and he is better off there then the shower of shite going on here

At the rate we miss chances you mean.

I reckon there’s at least a handful in the Prem alone.

Ole will try and play ‘Rashy’ into form. Totally disregarding that this actually is his form.

Danny Welbz is available on a free.

You know, the local lad brigade would love him. So much energy, clever movement and stuff.

Think we'll lower our expectations if we do bring in a forward this summer.
Can see us sounding out the likes of Zapata,Dabbur and King as possible options.

I don’t know about the 00’s but pretty sure SAF wouldn’t have dealt with Spurs post Berbatov, imo that is the reason why we never went for Modric.
There’s really no way we can afford Kane, we need both quality and quantity, we can’t just piss 200m on one player, we’re nowhere near that place as a team, spending it all on Kane would be stupid when we need a rebuilding to do.

He would struggle against teams that sit back against United. Part of the reason his record against the top 6 is so good is that Leicester are set up to exploit his strengths on the counter attack. Plus he's 32.

There's a lack of real quality in football these days. I'm sure there used to a raft of players you could put on a wishlist for each position. Now there's barely any.

Well, isn’t this a problem most clubs face as a challenge? :)

The fact of the matter is, to determine which clinical striker would have success at which club, there needs to be a fit with respect to striker tendencies and the way a team plays.
