Gaming Acclaimed games that you couldn't get in to?

The settings alone for me makes it 10 times more interesting than Soulsborne games
Don't forget about Sekiro if you get all excited about a Japanese setting. Hopefully it will be less generic than Nioh but From Software usually delivers on that front.

Holy shit I actually mistook Tsushima with Sekiro, I meant to say Sekiro that's why I compare it to Soulsborne

Either way, both games look amazing

Fortnite, I’ve played about 10 matches total it just bores me to death and never bothered again. I can’t understand the hype surrounding that game at all. It really blew up, People are addicted to that game they’ve put hours and days playtime into it and for the life of me I can’t see why.

You're right. I should state it as "Any and all Bethesda games I've played or seen gameplay of sucks".

Honestly my issues with them aren't even big, they are just super-annoying to me. I'd probably love the elders scrolls series if the characters movement was faster and bugs were actually fixed between their thousands of "new" releases. :p

The slow walking was what made it so i couldn't bother with fallout 4 as well.

The sprinting and fast travel wasn't ebough?

 Understandable. I'm less interested in Tsushima because I am a bit tired of the "open world action game" formula. Though another game could help justifying buying a PS4 for Bloodborne... the only other game I have for it at the moment is Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Unoriginal take: The FIFA games. PES lost their way somewhere in the PS2/3 era and people were telling me to get on board FIFA, but those games never topped the old PS1 PES games.

Also, Assassin's Creed 2 (the only one I played before deciding it wasn't for me), Fallout 3, 4 and NVG, Yakuza, and the latest, Zero Horizon Dawn.

Oh yeah Yakuza is a good shout. I really tried getting into Yakuza 0 but gave up after 30 odd hours. Just endless boring combat and inane side activities. Not for me I guess.

Dark Souls, really didn't enjoy it at all. That said, Bloodborne is one of my favourite games ever.

For me it is Fallout 3 and 4. My best mate loves them and put loads of hours into them, but I just couldn't get into them. Found the style to be bland and uninteresting, while progressing through the game was just so tedious and hard work.

If you haven't played it, then go for Nioh. It's so much fun!

Fast travel or not doesn't really matter to me. But the general pace when traveling in the games were horrible.

I haven't played Nioh but I've been really wanting to, I heard rumour that it's gonna be free on PS+ soon, hope it's actually true

Spider-man actually rekindle my interest in open world action games, if you haven't played it you should give it a try

Interesting. I've loved the Souls series and I'm currently playing Bloodborne. I really don't see a big difference other than the lack of a shield.

Well the no shield thing makes it feel very different for me. I feel more encouraged to be aggressive, and the combat is the better than all the souls games imo. Furthermore as much as I love a good fantasy setting, I enjoyed Bloodborne's more. A big gothic style city and the change from a more Traditional horror to Eldritch/Lovecraftian horror really blew me away.

Portal: Yeah it's a creative idea and 10/10 for innovation. But neither the gameplay, nor the setting nor the level design did it for me, I just felt bored. Maybe I didn't play it long enough.

Rocket league: Completely didn't/don't understand the hype about it. And what's even more confusing is how a couple of my friends who despised football and racing games, or basically all sport games, love it. Maybe I'm too much invested into real football and much prefer FIFA (although I dont love it) instead of pushing a ball around with a car.

I enjoyed playing through Portal once and liked the humour and the atmosphere - but I don't really understand why it became such a cult classic. I'm never tempted to play through a second time, nor was I interested enough to check out the sequel. It was a nice short game, nothing special.

I think what made Portal popular was the fact it was a relatively simple concept. It was short and sweet, the humour was on point, the atmosphere was good (I enjoyed looking for all the little secrets and easter eggs) and it was given away for free at some point. You couldn't really lose. Plus the puzzles were good as well.

That's all true and I agree but it doesn't explain why so many people regard it as one of the greatest games of all time. It's a neat little tech demo that grew into a full game because Valve saw some potential in it.

Gave up on this really early. Was in a field where the raptors are patroling and you can see their planned route. Got past it but in general was put off by having to do it. Just not a big fan of stealth games outside of MGS. I have limited time to play the PS4 with having kids to look after and all so if I get a half hour I don't want to spend it hiding and creeping.

Same, found Dark Souls annoying but loved Bloodborne.

You can't be invested in real football and play fifa , surely? I think I got closer to real football playing....literally any other game, ever.
