Adebayor or Torres, who is better?

Torres in terms of technical ability alone is up there with the best in Europe, Adebayor is not.

Torres is better, definitely.

The real question is who is better at setting themselves up for a fall

Man Utd Adebayor says it's the title or bust for him at Arsenal this season.

The charismatic striker declared: "If we don't win it, I will take my shirt off and call Arsene Wenger. I'll say 'Boss, I want to stop playing football' because I have a lot of ambition and part of my ambition is to win the title.

"As a player if you don't have an ambition, I don't know why you are playing or what you stand for.

"I have a lot of dreams and ambitions with Arsenal and I know they will come true.

Fernando Torres unimpressed by title rivals

CONFIDENT Fernando Torres believes Liverpool have nothing to fear from their championship rivals.

Despite some underwhelming performances, Rafael Benitez’s side remain unbeaten in the Premier League and stand in fifth place, six points behind leaders Arsenal and Manchester United.

Liverpool have faced fellow title contenders Arsenal and Chelsea already this season and will entertain United on December 15.

Club record signing Torres is expected to bolster their top-flight efforts by returning to the starting line-up at Newcastle United on Saturday.

And the Spanish striker reckons the fact Benitez’s men have yet to hit top form should act as a warning to their nearest rivals – and expects Liverpool to be challenging for the title come next May.

“We have a confidence and a focus which will make us a very dangerous opponent for everyone who has to face us,” said the 23-year-old.

“We have maybe not played as well as we are all capable of all the time this season but look at how close we are to the teams at the top of the table. That is highly encouraging for us.

“From what I have seen so far in England we do not have anything to fear from any of our opponents for the title. They are all great teams with a lot of experience and many very, very good players but so are we.

“I am sure that as the season progresses it will come down to a fight between Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea – and we will be in there too.”

Torres added: “There is a winning mentality at Liverpool. I look around in the dressing room before a game and in the face of ever player and every coach you see the winning expectation.

“They do not go out on to the pitch either hoping they will or praying they will win. They expect it. They have such a belief in their ability that another outcome is just not something they consider.

“It is very new to me but I enjoy that mentality very much and I am thinking this way too now.

“Hopefully we have had all the injuries that we are going to have and for the next few months we can really start to build a momentum that makes us very hard to stop.

“Any team that concedes as few goals as we concede is going to be tough to play against. If we begin to take the chances that we are creating in our games then I am sure those teams above us will start to fear us.”

You showed surprise at my choice, as though everyone should prefer Torres.

Not at all.

It was mock surprise as you have never struck me as the most objective of people when it comes to things Liverpool.

If you had said Torres or Van Persie then Torres would be my first choice.
I just prefer Adebayors style more than Torres'

- Sorry, I'll try to love Nando better in future. :wenger:

:lol::lol:

Well said MUM!

Torres is better, by some margin.

99 clubs out of 100, given the choice, would sign him over Adebayor.

I have to say Torres is better than Adebayor; for so many reasons. Torres's controlling is absolutely class where adebayor finishing is poor. I won't wonder if Torres scores more premiership goals than Adebayor at the end of the season.

Comparison....................

vs

Both great players but I have to say if I was a manager I would pick Torres every time, it is no suprise to me that we were after him.

Saha is similar in style if,

A) Saha had the belief
B) Saha had the skill of Torres
C) Torres was injured

Torres is better techinically. Adebayor is better physically. Two different types of strikers. Adebayors first touch often lets him down... where as Torres' team often lets him down.

I believe Benzema is the best of the bunch and will even widen the gap over the next few years, so what he wasnt included United have less a chance of getting the other two mentioned, as opposed to Benzema

But this thread isnt a transfer speculation thread... its a question about two strikers.

Both are on 19 goals but Torres is a better finisher?

I think maybe its the momentum. First Adebayor was on fire and now is Torres.

It changes in matter of weeks.

considering he's younger than adebayor and that this is his first season in England, it's got to be Torres. He's been an unpleasant surprise.

FFS...when you will ever understand ?

FACTS -

1. Rooney is not a striker.
2. He contributes a lot to the team than g.oals. Its unfair to expect a forward to score regularly from one on one chances.
3. He has been played out of position. If he was a second striker, he will score one on one's instead of missing them
4. He has been injured, so its fine to spurn chances
5. The FA are against him - he was suspended for a pre season red card and he lost his form
6. He missed a match because Fergie rested him and lost his form
7. He is a class act. Attempting chips and missing 5 chances shows more technical ability than just placing them into the net.
8. Who is called the White Pele ?
9. He scored a wonder goal against Newcastle...that one is better than scoring 20 silly goals like Torres or Adebeyor
10. He is the best player in the England squad..that makes him better than anyone else in the world.

You are a wanker. Just feck off and support your own club instead of slagging off united players. You are the most classless wanker I've ever seen. People like you are a disgrace to united. Just feck off.
