Wasn't he very decent in the Euros or am I thinking of someone else?
So you don’t like this transfer….We're wasting money and wages on him to be nothing but a dressing room issue and a shit presence on the pitch. Its fecking crazy. I'm honestly shocked. I genuinely thought last season was rock bottom for this club, 0 goal differential at the end. And then we fecking target Arnautović and Rabiot as our emergency options after a first defeat of the season because we did nothing all window?
These are transfers that I would laugh at fecking Everton for doing, and they might well get relegated this year for being a complete shambles. What the feck.
So basically lose pogba for free… then pay money to have an inferior versionSeeing words such as lazy and uninterested over on the Juventus forum so it sounds like he will fit right in here.
To be honest I don't think they care. More like Conte calling Tuchel and lego pep.I bet Pep's on the phone to Klopp right now, with an early Monday beer in hand. "Seen the absolute state of this Jurgen, hilarious my friend".
Yep, they take the better player for free, for a second time, and sell us the inferior player in the same summer. So basically lose pogba for free… then pay money to have an inferior version
I thought he was one of the reasons they went out against Switzerland but he was playing out of position in that game.Wasn't he very decent in the Euros or am I thinking of someone else?
More like Moyes, Rodgers and Eddie Howe.To be honest I don't think they care. More like Conte calling Tuchel and lego pep.
He'll cost about 4-5 times as much, thoughNeves would be a far better signing
Yet still a starter for them.Seeing words such as lazy and uninterested over on the Juventus forum so it sounds like he will fit right in here.
Guys, De Jong is a playmaker, Rabiot a play breaker. Rabiot will suck ever sense of life out of your midfield. One of the most underwhelming midfielders I’ve seen wearing our jersey. Ramsey and Rabiot were incredible misbuys, but at least Ramsey was always injured. Unfortunately Rabiot doesn’t get injured a lot. He's 27 - two years older than De Jong
Well regardless of his ability, it's a panic signing. Let's just hope it's one of the few ones that works out!Is he actually any good or is he a panic signing?
This deserves more appreciation. So long McFred, hello Frediot.
I prefer FrabioSo long McFred, hello Frediot.
No, United has probably been watching him for a while, as you said. I get that, but if that's the case, then buy him. After all, we were always going to buy a midfielder, because ten Hag has made that clear in multiple press conferences. So he hasn't adjusted anything and identified what he needed from the off.It depends, do you think that Unitd only contacted him and Juventus yesterday/today? Is it possible that ETH evaluated the players during the tour and adjusted things when he came back. To me panic would imply that it's premeditated when I think that it was, if I'm correct I don't agree with the way we did things but I suspect that it wasn't a panic move nor was our link to Ruiz.
That's abysmal. Really puts an end to the idea that his stats are being "cherry picked." I'd say they are absolutely standard metrics for a midfielder.
We are so far away from winning the PL or CL so it's pointless ever bringing them into the equation... Our goal right now is to consistently make top 4 before we can ever pretend to be a top footballing club again.Don't think he's good enough. After so many good cms move this summer and we're stuck with this...
I'd love to be proven wrong but I don't think he's good enough to win PL / CL.
When was the bid made? When Juventus, Rabiot and Unitd started their formal talks? No, United has probably been watching him for a while, as you said. I get that, but if that's the case, then buy him. After all, we were always going to buy a midfielder, because ten Hag has made that clear in multiple press conferences. So he hasn't adjusted anything and identified what he needed from the off.
As usual, we've been waiting all summer for a player (De Jong) who doesn't want to be here and then coincidentally bid for Rabiot the day we lose to Brighton.
It'd have been interesting to see whether we'd have put that bid in had we won or continued to ''wait'' for De Jong's decision.
However, we do have a history of being hesitant and naive in the transfer market, and this year has been nothing different.
~£15mAre there any reports on how much he is? If under like £25m I’m not against this as a ‘bulking the midfield’ kind of buy, but any more and it’s a tragedy
You could argue his defensive stats would be less because Juve have more of the ball/dominate more games... but in that case, why is he on the ball less? and his passing in stats in general just poorer? That's abysmal. Really puts an end to the idea that his stats are being "cherry picked." I'd say they are absolutely standard metrics for a midfielder.
See above. Those stats are telling but it doesn't tell the full story.
Juventus are more dominating in Serie A, which means a defensive midfielder will see less action per minute as compared to a mediocre United side in a very competitive league.
He is better but he is also not that goodIs this a desperate signing? I’m all for it though if it means breaking up the mctominay and Fred combo… think rabiot is better then both them aswell to be honest.

The French Mctominay
Well that's not very encouraging. It appears that we are bringing Rabiot in to be BACKUP for McTominay, in case Scott gets injured. This seems like a flawed strategy for improving the squad.
