Difference is that Juve fans probably have standards, while we have muppets defending the worst midfielder in the league because of selected stats.
I advise you to watch yesterdays game.
"Selected stats" nope - I was curious and looked at every damned stat there was to see if there was any way in which Rabiot was better. He simply wasn't. And played in a worse league. McT is not starter quality at all for a top side, I agree on this. But Rabiot is not an improvement.

Ok you know what, I'll leave it here for now. If we get Rabiot and he gets a few games in, we can come back to this.

I hope for both of us that you can call me out on this! Honestly, I want him to be better. I just don't see any evidence at the moment that he will be. And not just better in 1-2 games, I mean over a full season.

feck it, anything has to better than yesterday. It's going to take a few years to get back to the top, I wish it wasn't the case but yeah it is what it is.

Just seen this. Can someone paint him in a good picture, I need some hope.
Is he the kind of dm/cm that will thrive at Ten Hags United? Can he tackle, pass and shoot? Does he have a really big baguette?
when he can be arsed turning up one in five games, he’s a decent tackler, as a passer long and short is worse than Fred. Is generally a disruptive influence in the dressing room, has a mother who will make raiola look like a day in the park.

That stat comparison is harrowing  What are we doing, this is beyond depressing business.
Wasn't Murtough doing some data science stuff at Man Utd before his new role? Curious to see what data he was analyzing because it appears he is dogshit at seeing footballing stats.

This might be the most bewildered I’ve ever felt as a Utd fan. Genuinely no idea what they’re doing and not sure they know either.
Me too. I've never been this worked up before. Feels like the club is digging a hole too deep to climb out of. Even random journalists on Twitter are suprised by how small time we've become.

fecking Bruno Guimares and Palhinha have gone to BOTTOM HALF PL sides in the last 2 windows and they are LEVELS above McFred.

What in the name of feck are we doing?

It’s an alternative. Maybe they got word now that there’s 0 chance of it happening, whereas before it was a lukewarm chance and held out until the last possible minute.

If it was Tielemans, you’d not claim it was a panic buy but astute football business
The first line is why we're in the mess we're in, and it happens every season.

So coincidentally, there was 0 chance of the De Jong transfer happening the day after Brighton game? Give over! Once De Jong gave his comments about not wanting to leave Barca, we should have fecked him off straight away and went to our next target. These players should be ready to come in and play our first game of the season.

I'd have said the same about every signing, so please try not to put words in my mouth.

The owners now have lower ambitions than Arsenal and we're now signing Everton level players. Rotten from the top and it's not going to get any better, even with a decent manager like Ten Hag in charge.

The fact that we were apparently linked to him a while back, yet put a bid in today, having been linked with De Jong all summer, screams of a panic move. A move that may not be that bad, but a panic, nevertheless.
It depends, do you think that Unitd only contacted him and Juventus yesterday/today? Is it possible that ETH evaluated the players during the tour and adjusted things when he came back. To me panic would imply that it's premeditated when I think that it was, if I'm correct I don't agree with the way we did things but I suspect that it wasn't a panic move nor was our link to Ruiz.

The people who said EtH only considers players from Eredivisie or whom he previously trained must feel pretty stupid if this goes through.

United need to buy a top class dm but instead we go for Rabiot. I don't understand United.

This again is a stop gap. First Arnautovic now this.

He has never been a disruptive influence in a dressing room, not even once.

Someone like JWP ,Aouar, Caqueret would have been better.
I laughed off the idea of signing jwp at the beginning of the window but at this point he is who 1 would take .at least he understands the league and will add a big set piece threat.

Seeing words such as lazy and uninterested over on the Juventus forum so it sounds like he will fit right in here.

Can you name a player that has fulfilled his promise while playing for Manchester United in the past 10 years? Hoping this guy will magically get better after joining us is a fantasy to me.
no I can’t to be honest, although I think we now have a better manager than we’ve had for the last ten years so there’s some hope there.
I don’t think this is a great signing, but it’s not awful (unlike potential Arnautovic signing)!

I'd take anyone over Scott. Hell, I'd stick the tea lady in midfield.
Sick to death of McFred midfield. Just boils piss week in, week out
I honestly think if we brought back Paul Scholes, he’d do a better job than Mctominay. He’d be pretty fecked after 15 mins mind you, but we must surely know someone on the inside at Liverpool who could send us a couple of those inhalers.

It smells desperation and might backfired badly for both signings. Hope I’m wrong.

Honestly I don’t care about any reservations. For that price, combined with the fact he has played at a high level and is bound to be better than McFred, I’ll take him.
